“Wake up Grandpa, it’s morning already! How much longer are you going to sleep?”

The morning after Mira began working as the oracle Iris’ bodyguard, she was shaken awake, and she let out a groan as her half-asleep eyes opened to see who was bothering her.

“Oh, Alma…hrngghhh… Good morning.”

Sitting up to stretch, she greeted Alma before staring blankly into space, a part of her clearly still in dreamland.

“Good morning. And don’t try to sleep again.”

Alma pulled the sheets away and took hold of Mira, who was trying to lay down again.

“Okay let’s get you in the shower, that should wake you up.”

Saying that, she dragged Mira from the bedroom to the bathroom.

“When you’re done, co down to the room where we ate yesterday. I’m getting breakfast ready.”

Alma said that after throwing Mira into the changing room, leaving to go downstairs. She was busy as usual.

“Hmm…”

Since she had stayed up late the night before, Mira was still drowsy, and mindlessly followed what she was told, ending up inside the shower. The comforting warm water that rained over her was perfect to wake up.

“Ah… It’s already morning.”

Finally fully awake, she was able to complete her usual morning routine without issue.

After breakfast with Alma and Iris in the kitchen and dining room, they spent so ti sharing a cup of tea.

Once again, they talked about various things. Most of it was of little importance, which in a way made the ti they spent together all the more dear. Alma and Iris looked especially at ease as they spoke.

Sadly, that could not go on forever, so around ten minutes later, things played out very similarly to the previous day. Esralda showed up, ready to drag Alma away to the duties she had been abandoning.

“She seems pretty busy so early on.”

As Alma left the room, Mira began to ponder. At first glance, it appeared like Alma went there to avoid working, but maybe it was mainly to see Iris.

Just looking at the girl proved that.

Iris had no choice but to remain shut away in this place, doing her work as oracle. Being in such a loneso position would leave anyone distraught, but Alma’s efforts allowed Iris to remain smiling.

It was also clear from these two days that Alma went to see Iris with quite a lot of frequency.

So to make Alma’s efforts count, and to protect Iris’ smile, Mira would also do her best. At least ntally, it would take so ti before anything happened.

The assassins she had discovered two days prior had not determined Iris’ position yet, so going from that to invading her room would take ti.

On top of that, there were all the defensive systems Alma had installed, and Mira’s summons standing guard. As long as they remained in the room, Iris would be safe.

Mira’s ti for action would co later on. After all, that was the reason why she had co to replace Noin, for the promised visit to the tournant.

Iris had been looking forward to being there in person, but she needed a bodyguard, and Noin could no longer do that due to her fear of n. When that happened, the risk of her leaving the room was deed too high, and the visit was called off.

Until Mira showed up.

Things had been quite the tangled ss behind the scenes, but thanks to Alma, Iris remained cheerful through it all.

“Ah, the next event is about to start…”

Iris blurted that after looking at the ti, before adding, “Co watch too, Mira!” before darting out of the dining room.

“And soone else is full of energy so early on too.”

Mira muttered to herself as she followed Iris, wondering what event she was referring to.

That turned out to be the pre-show events being carried out in the tournant grounds. There was quite a long lineup of smaller events scheduled, which the whole city was looking forward to even before the main tournant.

Iris had been watching those events as well, thanks to the Magic TV in the living room.

This was her first ti doing so together with soone else though, she was really excited to get things ready.

She skillfully tuned in to the right channel, and then swiftly placed various snacks and drinks on the table. It took almost no ti for the perfect watching environnt to be created.

(This really brings back to those weekends…)

Mira was thinking about her ti in modern Japan, where she would do sothing very similar to watch movies. At the sa ti, the speed at which Iris set everything up terrified Mira.

(We really need to deal with Ira Muerte as soon as possible so Iris can learn to live a proper life outside…)

At this rate, Iris would beco a shut in who just watched TV all the ti. Mira was already seeing the early signs of that, so she hoped that Ira Muerte could be dealt with soon to put an end to this lifestyle.

“Mira, Mira, sit here!”

Those worries circled around in Mira’s mind as Iris sat down on the couch and called Mira to sit next to her.

Iris had also placed a pile of snacks and drinks for Mira, being really excited to have soone to watch TV with.

“Okay.”

Mira replied and sat down next to Iris.

A soft couch, the best snacks and drinks in the empire, and a TV. That alone made Mira excited, just as the event began and the announcer’s greetings were passed through the Magic TV.

“Hmm…I wonder what’s going to happen.”

She could see thirty two participants on stage, and a woman as the announcer.

The whole stage was displayed, so it was a bit hard to tell the faces of any person there, but it was clear that the participants were of all ages, with both children and adults present, and both males and females.

A tournant bracket was also displayed behind them, so it was still so sort of competition, despite the large disparities amongst participants.

Mira could only wonder what kind of event that was.

The answer for all that ca from Iris, before it beca clear on the TV.

“Today they’re playing the final tournant of Legend of Astelia on stage. I can’t wait to see what will happen!”

After that, Iris began to ntion who she believed would win the tournant. As it turned out, she had morized the entire event schedule.

Mira was impressed by that, but also muttered with surprise, “So the finals were here.”

Legend of Astelia was a card ga that had beco popular across the continent.

It had not been long since Mira also watched a qualifier ga play out, where a woman won by using Danbulf’s card. That prompted Mira to search for the woman she had seen, but the event was already moving to the first match, so she could no longer look at all the participants.

Iris did not only know about the ga, but was quite into playing as well, and she would often play with Alma and Esralda as well. That was another reason why she was so excited to watch. Maybe she could learn sothing she could apply to her own deck.

Esralda’s deck tended to have various cards with good synergy, while Alma tackled every issue throwing money at it, so she mostly had high value cards.

And then the first match of the Legend of Astelia Final Tournant began.

The large display switched from the tournant bracket to a direct feed of the playing table, allowing Iris and Mira to watch clearly through the Magic TV screen as well.
