“But wait, does this an you haven’t developed any spells for such situations? I’m sure you have the resources for that, considering the size of your country.”
Using drugs would take two months, but maybe relying on spells could provide faster results.
Mira brought that possibility up, her voice having a tinge of jealousy for Nirvana’s available budget for research. There were many experints the Silver Linked Towers had to give up on, which could have been made possible with the resources of a larger country.
“We are trying, yes. But I can’t help but think you’re just being sarcastic… I an, I haven’t heard anything about sothing like that being developed in those towers of yours, so what makes you think we’ve been successful?”
As usual, the Silver Linked Towers were always at the forefront of spellcaster research. Nirvana’s own research centers usually took the results from the Towers and expanded upon them, in exchange for a considerable sum.
“Or rather, shouldn’t you tell ? Did they find a way to do that? Are they running any experints already? You should know, right? I don’t care if it’s still a prototype, just tell , please.”
Alma’s current situation was so irritating that she began pressing Mira for an answer.
“Hmmm… Yes, they’re trying to develop sothing like that in the Towers, but it’s hardly useful at the mont. It pretty much only gets the target extrely inebriated, so they can’t really string words together in a coherent manner and it’s very difficult to get usable information.”
Mira had visited all the Towers during her break after finding Lastrada and Artesia, so she had a good idea of what they were working on.
This was an experint she had seen in the Tower of Concepts.
The current results were just as she had ntioned, random gibberish that could hardly be considered a confession. On top of that, it put the targets in such an intoxicated state that sotis they would fully hallucinate whatever they said.
“I see… Hmm… But maybe he’ll still slip up and say sothing… Even a little…”
The information locked in Jorg’s head was extrely valuable, but there were no ans of getting it out, which was pushing Alma to her wits’ end as she began mumbling.
Maybe even the incomplete confession spell could randomly get sothing useful out of him.
“No, you probably should give up on that one. I’ve seen one of the experints, and the responses were completely nonsensical.”
Mira spoke with a firm voice, stating just how rough that spell still was, and Alma just lowered her head in dejection.
“Actually, there’s another spell that works much better, so I’d suggest giving that one a try.”
Mira grinned as she said that right after Alma seed to give up, ntioning that she knew of a spell that was more effective than the prototype from the Tower of Concepts.
“…Huh? There is one?!”
The mont she heard that, Alma’s clouded eyes lit up as she rushed up to Mira, leaning over her while saying “What spell is it?! Tell ! I’ll let you eat all the ice cream you want!”, determined to learn more.
“Calm down, I’ll tell you, don’t worry.”
Mira tried to get Alma to calm down first, as she kept insisting “hurry, hurry!”, before explaining the situation.
“The other spell I know of happens to be an Onmyoji Art…”
There had been one person who had accomplished the sa result the Tower of Concepts was trying to achieve with their spell.
The results were guaranteed, as Mira had witnessed it herself, and it would surely be of use to obtain information from Jorg as well.
“There’s only one little issue. It’s a really complex and difficult spell, which compounds with how much the target resists. Currently only the creator of that spell can use it properly.” ꭆἁ₦օꞖЁʂ
A spell like that could be extrely useful if it could be learned easily, but using it involved very specific conditions.
Put simply, the spell put the target into a fully hypnotized state, which required a complex ritual, coupled with possessing enough strength to break through any resistance the target showed.
“So I just have to get the creator to co here, right? Where is that person… Wait, huh? Did you just say it’s an Onmyoji Art? Does that an…”
It was a really difficult spell, and Mira made it seem like only a master of Onmyoji Arts would be able to use it, which led to a certain possibility.
If it was too difficult, there was only one person that ca into Alma’s mind.
“…Kagura?! Tell , did you find Kagura already?!”
The only realistic option was Kagura, which would an that Mira had already successfully tracked down another of the missing Wisen, and judging by Alma’s elated reaction, she had also been good friends with Kagura.
“Yes, I did not too long ago. It wasn’t even that hard.”
Mira gloated about her achievent seeing how excited Alma got, smugly ntioning that Artesia was not the only one she had found so far.
“So you know where she is! That’s so good to hear, so Kagura is around too.”
Mira had not only found Alma’s sister in law that had been missing for more than thirty years, but another of her good friends too. Then she quickly moved on to planning “So you’re still waiting for the right mont to make the public announcent? Should I try to find a way to get her here in secret?”
Seeing her friend again was reason enough, but Kagura was also the only person who could use the spell Alma needed, so she wanted to bring Kagura to Nirvana as soon as possible.
Sadly things would not be so simple. Alma was under the impression that Kagura was back in Arkite, but that was not quite right.
“Ah…actually, there’s a bit of a problem with that. Kagura still had so work to do, so she hasn’t returned yet. And I actually have no idea where she is at the mont…”
Currently Kagura was traveling together with the Angel Tiriel, visiting the various Demon Coffins…places like the one that gave rise to Chira Clauzen, to ensure they were all sealed properly.
That was a mission they had to keep secret, so not even Mira knew where they were, and it was hard to say whether Kagura would be free to co over to Nirvana.
“Huh? Really?! I an, I guess it makes sense for her to be busy too, but still…”
