“Let’s see how well that worked…”

After using her Magic Bomb Sealing Stones to recreate the way special forces use stun grenades before storming a building, Mira opened the door again to check the results.

The first thing she saw was the furniture, torn apart and spread around wildly, as well as the other luxurious items they were trying to take out. Then she saw the three assassins she had followed, collapsed in front of the lever.

The Magic Bomb Sealing Stones she had used were far harsher than re stun grenades, packing quite an impact as she knew that she was dealing with experienced assassins, and she wanted to knock out as many of them as possible.

Still, they began to stand back up one after another, even those closest to the explosions. The boss and various others had only been grazed by it.

But the three assassins and the boss’ right hand man were knocked out cold, so it had been worth it to an extent.

(Oh…they managed to survive through that. They really aren’t ordinary n…)

That group had managed to sneak deep into a powerful country like Nirvana undetected, so its leaders had to be considerably powerful. Mira verified all of that by peeking through the door, carefully examining the situation.

“You there, by the door, did you do this?”

So of them were powerful, but the boss was a step above the rest. He had taken a defensive stance, and after relaxing and standing up straight, he sharply turned around to stare directly where Mira was.

She had to undo her concealnt to throw the Magic Bomb Sealing Stones, but recast it right away. The effect was also obviously active, as others were looking at the space in the opened door, but not making direct eye contact yet.

Only the boss seed aware of Mira’s presence, as he followed her with his eyes as she entered the room.

(He seems rather adept at sensing others… I guess there’s no point in hiding anymore.)

There was no longer a reason to stay hidden, so Mira undid her camouflage, revealing herself to them.

“…Who’s that?!”

“Where did she co from?!”

All of a sudden, a girl appeared in a spot they believed was empty. The n there were clearly confused by it all, and only their boss took a few steps toward Mira, a displeased look on his face.

“And to think it’s such a little girl. Just who are you?”

Considering his line of work, surprise attacks were sothing the boss encountered on a daily basis, but he had not expected to be confronted by such a girl, and more importantly, he felt almost insulted that they would send soone like that after him.

“Who could I be, I wonder?”

Mira just grinned teasingly, dodging the question.

For a mont, she thought of introducing herself as a summoner fighting for justice, imitating Lastrada. But she was dealing with lowlife assassins, so she did not think it would really have much of an effect and stopped herself.

“You don’t seem to be a bounty hunter either… I can only imagine that you’re part of the assault platoon that moved ahead of the rest, but I wasn’t told about anyone that looked like you. Then again, I don’t even know if the results of that investigation were reliable or not anymore. This country really knows how to ss with us…”

The boss continued to stare at Mira, examining her features while gradually growing more enraged, feeling like Nirvana had played him like a fiddle. In reality, their information had been extrely reliable, but Mira and her summons had completely disrupted their usual activity.

“Whichever the case, I comnd you for getting this far. That stealth ability of yours is sothing else, I hadn’t noticed you until you attacked. But did it work in the end? No, you underestimated us. All you did was tell us you were here.”

He was still surprised that Mira had made it so far into their hideout, carefully watching her in case she tried sothing else, while also stressing that things would have gotten better if she just remained concealed.

Only a few of the n there had been knocked out, leaving Mira overwhelmingly outnumbered. Mira silently listened to the boss prattling out, but a different thought got lodged in her mind.

(Now then…how co none of these recognize who I am?)

Not too long ago she kept getting stopped in the streets by people wondering if she was the Spirit Queen, or at least whispering about it in the distance. And yet everyone there, from the boss to all his n, did not seem to even think about the S in Spirit Queen, instead pinning her as being part of the assault platoon.

At first, she assud that they were not up to date on the things happening in the city since they spent their days holed up in their secret base, only to rember the actual reason why.

(Ah, I forgot. I’m wearing a disguise.)

She had dyed her hair black, put on a pair of glasses, and even changed outfits, so now she looked like a cute city girl and nothing more. There was nothing on her that would identify her as the popular Spirit Queen, so it made sense that no one thought of that. That also ant that none of them would know what type of spells she used.

“Hehehe, underestimating will be your last mistake. I’m a mber of the assault platoon’s covert ops unit, and the commander of the black hair shock troops! You’re all under arrest!”

It was better to exploit their misunderstanding, so she claid to be part of the assault platoon, and raised her voice while looking around to rile them up.

“Hmph, covert ops and shock troops, you say? And you’re still calm while completely surrounded like this. I can’t tell if you’re overly confident or just trying to put on airs, either way it was a mistake for you to co here alone.”

While Mira stood up confidently, the boss faced her without hesitation or fear too. He had no doubt that the strength of his n, and especially his which was a step above the rest, would make easy work of Mira.

“Oh, that’s not quite right, is it? Over there…”

The boss suddenly glanced toward a different location, raised his palm in that direction, and after gathering mana, unleashed a shockwave straight at it.

“Woah, that was close…!”

At the other end of the shockwave, Worthramble had to jump to the side to dodge the attack. So far, only Mira had stepped outside of the camouflage effect, while he remained concealed. Still, the boss had noticed his presence.

“You aren’t alone, there’s two of you. I don’t know how you kept yourselves hidden, but your surprise attack won’t work anymore. I’m guessing that was your trump card? Too bad, it’s not enough to take down.”

Many of the boss’ n surrounded Worthramble, who just raised his hands in resignation, sothing that brought a smile to the boss’ lips.

“Hmm… Not too bad for the leader of a group of assassins.”

The boss was strong. Even the average Rank A adventurer would be beaten in an instant. And that strength gave him the confidence he displayed earlier.

But that interaction revealed that the boss was a sage. He had used Life Sensing to detect Worthramble, and then used Shockwave to force him out of hiding. And he was skilled at both.

“You’ll have a better ti if you stop trying to fight and just give up. You’ll regret it if you continue…”

The boss announced coldly while equipping a jamadhar, which was sothing like a fist weapon with a blade sticking out of it. It was clear he was used to such situations, and he had gotten this far by treating each ti as re business.

A tense atmosphere filled the room as everyone got ready for the brawl, but then one of the n there took a step forward.

“Boss, could I have a mont? I’d really like to take her out myself.”
