「Thinking back to those tis, our als beca rather bizarre. We’d have sweets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.」

Alfina looked baffled as she recalled that. In short, Frodina was always making sweets from the day she obtained the cookbook, and she explained that she rely wanted to try out every single recipe at least once.

They would have a hefty dessert with each al, and then she would even bring more sweets to practice as snacks. Once she was done trying out every recipe, she continued to master the ones she had liked the best.

「At the ti, I could only think of preparing and eating them, so by the ti we noticed…」

Frodina said that, the light fading from her eyes. As they spent those days, indulging in all those sweets, they realized that they had gained weight and beca fatter.

「But…but there were so many delicious things to eat every day!」

「It was too difficult…to resist.」

Elivina and Celestina spoke, their heads low in self-derision as they recalled those tis. The sisters had gained weight at different rates, with those two and Christina being the most impacted. Especially Christina, who was the one eating the most at the ti.

「It’s all Frodina’s faulttt!!!」

Christina yelled in distraught, realizing that Mira would learn of that dark blemish in their history, and pinned all the bla on Frodina for making those delicious desserts, and claiming she was rely a victim.

It did not seem like a very rational excuse, but more than half of the sisters seed to share that sentint, showing just how big of a temptation sweets could be.

「I see, so that’s what happened… And you said you gained weight, but exactly how much was it?」

The sisters were all in perfect shape, making it difficult to imagine them looking more plump in the past, so Mira asked just how bad things had gotten. Gaining fat could an a different thing to different people, and Mira wanted a more specific answer.

Asking a girl sothing like that was usually taboo, and Mira would have been branded a tactless person with no manners if she had not been a girl herself, and the master of the sisters.

「Well…」

But as those conditions were t, Alfina replied without reservation.

Eletina, Frodina, and Shalwina had all gained around five kilos. Elivina and Celestina seven. Each ti Alfina ntioned their nas and that information, the valkyries looked down in sha. And eventually the last na ca.

「And Christina… She gained fifteen kilos.」

Alfina sighed after saying that, still baffled that it had happened in the first place. That was also followed by a deafening cry, which obviously enough ca from Christina.

In other words, the ban on sweets had been a form of dieting for them.

Frodina was not allowed to make sweets anymore, completely stripping their nu of desserts. Alfina was the only one who had not gained any weight, even though she had been eating the sa desserts as the rest. That was because she always subjected herself to a far more strenuous training regint than the rest, and knowing that, she also made her sisters train harder to make their new diet more effective.

「Hmm…now I’m getting the full picture.」

Having heard the whole story, Mira actually agreed with Alfina’s decision to ban desserts.

「Awww… Masterrrr…」

Christina let out a begging plea, and the other sisters soon joined her. They had just seen Mira, their only hope, switch sides to stand with Alfina. But luck was still on their side.

「I think it’s fair to say that there was a more than valid reason to remove desserts, but isn’t it about ti that the ban is lifted?」

The sisters had spent more than a decade like that, and yet they were still burdened by that lack of sweets and strenuous training. So Mira tried to reason with Alfina. The diet had been successful and everyone had lost the weight they had gained, so there should be no problem with serving a dessert every two or three days.

「I agree that serving sweets three tis a day every day like back then was excessive, and gaining weight is a logical result. If you’re a bit more mindful of how much sugar you’re consuming, you shouldn’t gain much weight so quickly.」

Mira could not help but feel pity for the situation the sisters were in, so she listened to their pleas and attempted to convince Alfina, as Mira herself believed sweets were dicine for the soul.

「That’s a really good point… Maybe it’s ti for so change.」

Knowing Alfina, it was no surprise that she took Mira’s words to heart, and eventually decided she would take so ti later with Frodina to discuss how often they could have sweets.

The sisters, spearheaded by Christina, began cheering loudly the mont they heard that. Alfina looked a bit baffled by that, but also had what seed like a gentle smile. And Mira was also glad to be part of that.

「Things sound really lively so early in the morning, did sothing good happen?」

Bruce peeked into the dining hall with a curious look, hearing the cheers of the valkyries as their sweets situation had improved.

「Oh it’s nothing. We were just talking about food for a bit.」

A lot happened and now they would have sweets again. Mira sumd up everything like that and went to sit down at the table, figuring it was about ti they ate. The sisters all followed their master, making it seem like an actual breakfast scene, instead of what looked like a celebration after a successful battle.

Bruce repeated 「Sweets?」 as he walked over to sit with them, still trying to understand. Then he saw the french toast and grinned, 「I love french toast.」

「And the soup for today is my special salad stew.」

Frodina announced that while bringing a pot from the kitchen, a delicious scent of vegetables and at wafted from it. At the table, she poured the stew from it into bowls that were already filled with salad. But her hands seed to be slightly unsteady, almost nervous as she served.

(This really is the first ti I’m seeing a dish like this.)

That was one of Frodina’s original creations, salad stew. It consisted of fresh vegetables cut to bite sizes put on a bowl, over which a beef stew would be poured instead of dressing. It was both an intricate and daring idea for a dish.

Mira had been shocked when she first heard about it, but the other sisters seed to really value it as a special and delicious breakfast. They were all in the best mood having that on top of the sweet french toast they had already seen.

Frodina went around the table, serving the stew on everyone’s bowls. When she passed by Christina, she requested, 「Lots of at please!」 and then stared in terror when she got a large pile of tomatoes instead.

Tomatoes indeed. The whole conversation earlier had centered around the french toast, but the salad stew with tomatoes was the actual star of the show, ant to play a key role in the main quest Mira and Frodina were on, to heal Alfina’s distaste for tomatoes.

This was the first ti the stew was brimming with tomatoes like that, cooked to perfection and almost falling apart to the touch. But as they were cut in big chunks, they were clearly visible and stood out on the bowls.

Eventually, it was Alfina’s turn, and when her bowl was filled with stew, there was a clear change on her usually calm and collected face.

(I already knew, but she really does loathe tomatoes…)

Mira had been watching and ntally evaluated the reaction, as she wanted to see what would happen. There was no mistaking it now, Alfina did not want to have anything to do with tomatoes, and was staring daggers at Frodina for it.

(You deserve a dal after this, Frodina…)

While Alfina’s eyes seed to be murdering Frodina, she sohow managed to keep a smile as she put down the pot while saying, 「There’s still a bit left if anyone wants seconds.」

But that only lasted until she sat down, her smile vanishing and her shoulders trembling in terror.
