「Should we et here tomorrow at eight in the morning then?」

After leaving the Union, with everything settled, Mira turned around and made the suggestion to Bruce. He replied, 「No, it’s better if I pick you up from your inn,」 explaining that the Union tended to be really crowded at that hour, making it difficult to find each other.

He had learned that from all the tis he went to the Union trying to find soone to help him, but now that he found soone, there was no need to go there again.

But Mira quickly realized sothing else. 「That reminds , I haven’t found an inn yet.」

She had arrived in Sutra earlier that day and had been searching for an inn when she first heard about Bruce. All the ti she spent tracking him down and talking with him had made her completely forget about her original goal.

It was already quite late in the night, so it would be even harder to find an inn with an open room. Luckily, Mira could always deploy her spirit mansion and spend a comfortable and safe night.

But she really wanted to stay at an inn, as experiencing the local services was the main reason to travel for her. She wanted to try the local food, see the view out of a window, and et other travelers and the inn employees. All of that offered unique experiences.

Her mission was to track down the Nine Wisen, but Mira’s own objective was to enjoy her trips. So she asked Bruce if he knew of any good inns.

「In that case, I can very much recomnd the inn I’m staying at, Casters’ Sanctuary. I’m sure they still have rooms, and if you’re staying there, we can just et up in the lobby tomorrow morning, making it easier for us both.」

Bruce suggested that, and Mira had to think about it, as she had been there before, and it looked like a really luxurious place.

「I actually stopped by there earlier when I was looking for you, and it looked a bit too expensive for …」

She had nothing against such places; she just felt it was too early in her journey to stay sowhere that luxurious. With a long trip still ahead, she felt the need to spend her money more sparingly for the ti being.

「Oh, in that case, don’t worry about it. I’ll pay for your stay there, you’ll be working for after all.」

Just as Mira was considering returning to the Union to ask if they knew of an inn with a vacant room, Bruce showed his generosity by inviting her to stay at the sa inn as him—free of charge.

「Did I…hear that right..?」

It was an enticing offer, and even if it could end up ballooning the cost of the request even more for Bruce, Mira could not bring herself to decline, so instead she asked, 「Are you sure about that?」

「I an, to be honest, I’m not really much of a morning person, so I’m not confident I would find you on ti tomorrow. I’d actually appreciate not having to go so far.」

He smiled as he said it, making it clear he had no problem covering the cost for her.

Mira still had her Item Box filled with Magic Stones she had picked up in the Ancient Underground City, and selling them would net her enough money to pay for such a luxurious inn herself.

But Mira had no intention of selling them. She was saving up for the ultimate equipnt she eventually wanted to commission. While she already possessed the main materials, there were still many others she needed to acquire. On top of that, she had to find the right artisan to craft it—sothing that would cost a considerable amount. Magic Stones were also indispensable in crafting such advanced items, as specialized forges and tools required them as a fuel source. All in all, she wanted to preserve as many of them as possible.

If she could save money by accepting Bruce’s offer, then she was more than willing to go with him.

「Ahh…this is heaven…」

Mira was relaxing in that room paid for by Bruce, which cost 50,000 Rils a night. They had already split ways and would et again the next day.

The room was furnished according to the cost, including a magic air conditioning system that kept the room warm. Dinner was just as delectable, accompanied by a wonderful assortnt of drinks.

There was obviously a personal bathroom as well, mostly illuminated by indirect lighting, giving it a dreamy appearance. Mira was resting in the warm water there, letting the exhaustion from the day wash away. When looking to the side, she was also able to see light dotted around the darkness, giving her a view of the city at night.

She felt like she was atop the world, stretching her legs out and sitting leisurely, almost like she was a haughty and proud empress.

「Still, that kid who was nothing more than a fifth son really grew up a lot.」

She soon found herself reminiscing about the past, thinking about Bruce, whose real na was Jude Steiner. He had joined the Tower of Summoning a year before the First Day, which ant he had been around thirty-one years ago.

As the fifth son of a noble, his life was largely detached from aristocratic affairs, and he spent most of his ti secluded in the laboratory. That also made her hope that the other summoners who had remained in the Tower were still in good health.

They were all doing their best to bring summoners back and restore the Tower of Summoning to the lively state it once knew. Dreaming of that future, Mira continued to relax in the bath.

「Phewww! Splurging on this was the right choice!」

After thoroughly enjoying her bath, Mira left her room and went to the library section of the inn, where she paid a thousand Rils for a slightly late after-bath drink. That much for a single drink was a steep price, but Mira was delighted to drink it.

The drink in question was a Caral au Lait, especially made by the inn’s chef. It had an exquisite sweetness with just a hint of bitterness, really making it feel like it was a whole glass full of caral, and giving it a luxurious feel.

Mira really liked it too, as she spent a further 100,000 Rils to buy ten bottles of Caral au Lait, which she kept in her Item Box. She had been frugal when it ca to lodging costs, but she would spare no expense when it ca to sothing that would make the rest of her trip enjoyable.

「I’ll drink so again next ti sothing good happens.」

She was already looking forward to whenever that would be, and then she began looking around the bookshelves.

「Ohh, ohhhh, there’s this type of spells too!」

She had given up on entering the library before, but now that she was a guest at the inn, she could spend as much ti there as she wanted, so she quickly went to look for any Concept Magic spells that could co in handy, quickly becoming amazed at the variety.

There were so strange spells like one that would make anything taste sweet, or one to be able to vaguely read the thoughts of animals, to more practical ones like a way to cool down hot things to a manageable temperature, ways to stop water from splashing when jumping in, one to reduce the reach of one’s voice, and so on.

Mira focused on anything that seed useful or fun, and jotted down how to use them.

「Hmm… As expected, anything is possible through Concept Magic. And all of these are unique spells without shared features too.」

After two hours of reading, Mira returned the books to their place and left the library. There was still a lot more she wanted to see, but she had to restrain her curiosity as it was quite late at night already. If she let herself go, she would end up reading all the way until dawn, but she needed to get enough sleep as she had agreed to et with Bruce the next day.

So with a lot of effort, she pushed herself to return to her room and started getting ready to sleep.

There was one thing that had escaped her. The book she was reading had 「Published by the Silver Linked Towers」 written behind its cover, so considering her position, getting her own copy would be as easy as asking for it.

The next day, she woke up at seven in the morning, an hour before her eting with Bruce, so she would need to get ready within that ti.

After going to the toilet, she took a shower to wash away her drowsiness, then had breakfast served in her room, and enjoyed a non-alcoholic cocktail while practicing Concept Magic, all the way until it was five minutes before eight.

「This really was an enjoyable ti.」

She felt a bit reluctant to leave that luxurious room, which cost 50,000 Rils a night, but it was ti for her to head downstairs to et with Bruce.

「Hey, good morning Mira!」
