Mariana nodded along, and she seed to gain more interest in the card ga, as she leaned over to peer at the card more closely, while asking, 「You really fight with these?」
「Yes, and it’s not just children playing this ga, it’s popular amongst adults too. If I beco a card and fight well, then I’m sure that summoners will beco more famous too.」
Since that would help summoners as a whole, Mira told Mariana that if she ever ran into that sales manager again, to tell him Mira wanted to proceed.
「Alright, I’ll pass on the ssage if I can.」
Apparently, that man had been showing up at the Spellcasters’ Union every day at around noon. Mariana said she would try to find him there, and then muttered with curiosity, 「So there will be a card like this for you too…」
「By the way, how do you presu they got permission from the Phantom Thief? Or I guess Lord Lastrada in this case.」
「…Now that you ntion it, I have no idea.」
Mira was currently holding a card of the Phantom Thief Fuzzy Dice. The existence of that proved that the thief had given them permission, and that made Mariana wonder how they had achieved that. Mira also tilted her head in confusion.
The Phantom Thief Fuzzy Dice was known for only showing up on specific dates, so the card had to be arranged during one of those days. Either way, it had happened sohow.
Mira and Mariana began spitballing ideas of how it could have happened, but they could not decide on anything.
In the end, Mira said she would ask Lastrada about it when he ca back, and instead they began to talk about what Mira’s card could be like. After all, if the card ca out and it perford poorly, it could also cast a shadow on summoners instead.
They did not know how much influence they would have over the card’s creation, but they still began reading through the ga rules together, and discussing what would be good, letting their imagination run wild.
Also, Solomon had given permission for the likeness of the Wisen other than Luminaria to be used, as they were still largely considered missing. Realizing that, Mira decided she would press Solomon to reveal how much they paid in commissions.
Their conversation went late into the night, until it was finally ti for them to go to bed. That was Mira’s last night there before having to head to Nirvana. Since Creos did not return to the tower, there was no training session, and Mira and Mariana were able to talk like a married couple without interruptions, laughing happily, and playing with Luna. They even kept talking after going to bed, all the way until they fell asleep.
And then it was the next morning. Mira woke up after Mariana as usual, hearing the comforting and rhythmic sounds of breakfast being prepared in the kitchen.
「Ohh, you’re up early today too, Luna.」
As Mira slowly opened her eyes, still drowsy, Luna hopped on her chest and began nuzzling against her chest. Mira wrapped her arms around Luna, gently petting her, while continuing to lay down and enjoying the morning air.
Luna also seed to understand that Mira would not be back for a while, so she was acting more clingy than usual, and Mira did not hold back from answering the sa way.
「Good girl, good girl.」
「Kyuiii~」
Mira hugged Luna and rubbed her face on the soft fur, and Luna squeaked happily. Eventually, all of the lingering drowsiness faded away, and Mira slowly sat up. And just at that mont, Mariana opened the door and peeked in.
「Good morning, Lady Mira.」
「Oh, good morning.」
「Kyui!」
What followed was an oddly special yet unimportant morning mont. Mira changed quickly with the help of Mariana, then went to the toilet together with Luna, and then sat at the table for breakfast, ready to enjoy the food Mariana had prepared with so much love.
Since Mira was departing that day, even the breakfast was more luxurious than usual. Everything was especially made for her, filled with wishes for her to have a safe trip.
Eventually, breakfast ca to an end as well, and it was finally ti to get ready to leave for Nirvana. Then again, they had done most of the packing the day before, so it was mostly just double checking.
「Clothes, ready. Adventurer card, ready. Travel funds… He really could’ve given a bit more to spend.」
She had received two million Rils from Solomon this ti. That would be more than enough to sustain her for the entire duration of the tournant, but she had already made plans to splurge on all manner of things, so she grumbled that it was not enough. Either way, she counted all her money and then stored it in her Item Box as well.
「And lunch boxes, ready too!」
Mariana had woken up early not only to prepare breakfast, but also a multitude of lunch boxes, which could easily last for a week. And they were all unique too, even including a different dessert in each one.
「I’m already looking forward to eating now!」
It was surprisingly difficult to plan so many different variations of lunchboxes in a way that they would not beco monotonous, and there was enough difference between those ant for lunch and dinner. But for Mariana, thinking of all that brought her happiness as well, which only beca magnified seeing how excited Mira looked with all of it.
「And lastly, I can’t forget Luna’s charm. Ready!」
Mariana had also collected all the fur Luna had shed and woven it into a small rabbit plushie. Pure Rabbits were said to bring good luck, so that charm, with Mariana and Luna’s love woven into it as well, would surely be the greatest warding charm for Mira.
Luna brought it to Mira, who picked it up and said, 「It just looks like you, Luna,」 and very carefully put it in her pouch.
Now she had everything she needed. She looked around the living room once again, noticing so more little changes Mariana had done to the ornants and furniture, as well as the newly installed sand pit for Luna, and knew that the environnt would continue to change each ti she returned.
Considering the lengthy ti entries were open for the tournant, she expected it would take her at least two months before she ca back again. After carefully examining the room, and wondering how it would look at her return, she headed out.
「Well, I’ll be going then.」
Once outside of the Tower of Summoning, she summoned Garuda and got her wagon ready. Before climbing in, she turned around and hugged Mariana and Luna tightly, their gentle warmth filling her with motivation to do her best.
「Have a safe trip.」
「Kyui kyui!」
Mariana slowly turned to look at Mira within her arms, no longer saddened, as she fully trusted Mira would return safely. She wanted her last look at Mira to be one pushing her forward, but still full of affection.
Maybe because of that, the two hugging looked almost like an older sister seeing her younger sister about to leave, but also like a wife seeing her husband off.
