The handso man himself knew that he was no in the best state of mind, and the cause of that, but he refused to ntion what it was.

「…Yeah, then what was it? There’s no way you would get so distracted during a tournant and make a dumb mistake all of a sudden. Tell , what happened?」

The friend also knew how respectful Leona’s fans were, but he just could not think of anything else that could have caused that. He knew how dedicated the handso man was, and how seriously he was taking the tournant.

「I an…」

The handso man stamred for a bit, either because it was sothing hard to explain, or because he did not want to talk about it. Seeing that he could not make up his mind, his friend looked him straight in the eye.

「Is it sothing you can’t tell then? In that case I won’t ask anymore. But you can always count on if sothing is bothering you.」

The friend was still worried that it could happen again, in an even bigger match. So he wanted to find the root cause and fix it as soon as possible. But he did not insist, as he knew that the handso man was feeling down from losing the match, and likely needed so ti to calm his emotions.

Instead, he decided to switch to less touchy subjects, like how the handso man would need a new trump card, or that maybe it was ti to go hunting for another Legendary card. It was pretty clear that both of them really liked talking about the ga.

That continued for a while, until it finally happened.

「Actually, back then…」

Once his emotions settled down, the handso man brought up the reason why he got distracted.

Near the end of the match, he had started to see defeat looming on the horizon. That was when he sohow managed to draw a Legendary card and found a way to fight back.

「At that mont I felt like luck had blessed . But as you know, the next turn Leona brought Danbulf out, and then it happened.」

As he recalled those events, he broke into a feverish smile, continuing, 「I heard it, that adorable voice.」

「An adorable…voice? What does that have to do with what happened? You don’t have to beat around the bush so much, just tell what caused that.」

His friend wanted to know what had made the handso man lose his cool so much in the middle of the match, but he insisted that it was an important encounter, and refused to skip any details.

「I found her, a real angel.」

「What?」

Nothing was making sense to the friend, but the handso man did not seem to care as he continued talking. He said how he was certain he had lost when Leona brought Danbulf out, but then he heard a happy voice, and when he looked up, he saw an angel.

「I rember I felt like my whole body was on fire when I first saw her. And she was there, standing with all the other girls cheering on. The angel was cheering for . Just seeing that filled with motivation and strength, and strangely I noticed a way to win that I had missed until then. I’m sure that was a miracle granted to by the angel.」

The handso man still sounded like he was telling so sort of riddle, but his friend had known him for long enough to manage to piece together what he was saying.

「So you’re saying that’s how you started to turn things around at first. But in the end you broke down completely, so I’m guessing that angel also did sothing for that to happen?」

There had been a mont during the match when the handso man had started focusing more than ever before, overturning the tides of the match. That angel seed to be involved with that.

The friend also understood that it was not really an angel, but soone cute enough for the handso man to describe as one. At this point, it was easy to assu that it was also that cute girl who had caused everything to topple down in the end.

And that was exactly what happened, as the handso man confird it while slouching his shoulders.

「Yeah… I thought she was rooting for , but I was wrong. That angel was not on my side after all.」

The handso man’s voice sounded heartbroken as he explained what he saw. When the match was about to be decided, with Leona pushed far into a corner, he heard the voices of her fans.

Those fans were just as passionate as in the start, insisting that they believed Leona could win. Even the handso man was impressed by that, seeing how supportive her fans were.

「But I didn’t think that would change anything. I had my own group supporting , and more importantly, the angel was with …or so I thought.」

The mories rushed back, and the handso man fell silent for a bit, the words stuck in his throat. But eventually, he overca that emotion and slowly continued talking.

Leona’s fans had gotten so loud that the referees had to calm them down. The noise caught the attention of the handso man as well, and when he turned to look at them, he spotted the angel amongst them.

「I didn’t want to believe it, I thought I was seeing things because I was so happy…but she was there, she really had moved to that side.」

The handso man sounded distraught as he said that. On top of that, he even saw her talking amiably with Leona’s fans.

「When I saw that, it was like the spell had broken, and I could no longer see myself winning.」

「I see.」

The friend had largely understood what had happened. He even noticed sothing that the handso man himself was unaware of. The friend believed that the handso man had fallen in love with that girl he called an angel. That pushed him to find a newfound strength during the match, but then when he saw her with Leona’s fans, with other n, he began feeling jealous and his mind was clouded. That was why he lost in such a shocking way.

In the end, it was a rather simple story.

(Now that I think about it, he’s never experienced that type of emotion before.)

They had known each other for a long ti, so the friend knew that this was likely the first ti the handso man had fallen in love, and with it being a first, the emotions were much more impactful.

Even now, he seed to crestfallen and dejected, completely different from his usual attitude. It was the first ti his friend was seeing him like that.

(It’s probably better to clear things up rather than leaving it half done.)

The handso man had randomly seen a girl there and had fallen in love for the first ti. That had manifested so strongly that the emotions took complete control of him. So the friend believed that it was best to resolve things, instead of having those unanswered feelings resurface again later on.

「So, if you could see that angel again, would you want to do it?」

All matches had been played out for the day, but there was still an event to commorate the winner later on. If that angel was one of Leona’s fans, then she would likely stay there for that.

So the friend decided to play the role of matchmaker for the handso man. Whichever way it went, whether she was also interested or she rejected him, it would rid him of those lingering emotions. Either result would be far better than the miserable state the handso man was in now.

「…Yes, I want to see her again.」

After a long ti thinking, the handso man whispered his reply.

「I want to see her…and know what that was.」

「What was what?」

「Her relationship with those n.」

The handso man replied right away. He was clearly referring to Leona’s fans, as he had seen that angel talking with them.

「Oh, sure. Anyway, I’ll go look for her so just wait here for a bit. I’m sure things could get ssy if you co out and people recognize you.」

The friend believed that they likely were just both fans, but knowing for sure was better for the handso man’s ntal state.

「By the way, could you tell what that angel looked like?」

Just as he was about to leave the room, the friend turned around and asked, realizing that he had not heard anything about that.

「Ahh, well…」

Even though the handso man had only seen her for brief monts, her appearance was burned in his mind, so he described her in detail.
