Capítulo 1034: Chapter 1034: Is He Teaching Her a Lesson?
Hope nodded, acknowledging that people here indeed kept their distance from Liam Cloud out of respect.
It was clear that they were afraid of being beaten.
After walking around for a long while, they finally found a restaurant that looked pretty decent.
The group went inside; the decor of the restaurant was quite elegant. Most of the decorations inside were wooden, and each compartnt was separated by screens, giving it a certain artistic atmosphere.
Since their group was large, they directly chose the largest compartnt.
They entered and sat around a big round table one after another.
Zoey Sanders ca in with Luke and Willow afterward. The three of them didn’t know where they got cotton candy and so small wooden carvings. Zoey even thoughtfully bought Baby a cotton candy.
Luke and Willow hopped and skipped over to Hope and Waylon Lewis.
Hope helplessly looked at Luke and Willow, “You two, slow down.”
It was as if Wesley Ruiz and his group deliberately planned it; the only remaining seat was next to Liam Cloud.
Liam lounged lazily there, showing a sowhat weary expression.
Roman Frost, sitting to Liam’s right, directly pointed to the only vacant seat, “Miss Sanders, please sit.”
Feeling guilty as he was the ‘main culprit’ who caused Zoey to be thrown out, Roman was now vigorously trying to make ands.
Zoey hesitated for a brief second before walking over gracefully to sit on Liam’s left.
Roman heartily clasped his hands toward Zoey, “Miss Sanders, I apologize for any offense that day.”
Zoey imdiately waved her hand, “It’s okay. You didn’t know at the ti, and following the rules was expected.”
Wesley Ruiz and Eliana Shaw also stood up consecutively to apologize to Zoey, and Zoey generously said it was fine.
Liam glanced at Zoey lightly and chuckled, “You are quite easygoing.”
Zoey pouted, “They really didn’t do it on purpose.”
Liam coldly swept his gaze over the three, “Congrats to you three for encountering soone foolish.”
Foolish?
Was he talking about her!
Zoey imdiately felt unhappy, thinking to herself, how was she foolish?
Just as she was about to refute Liam’s words.
Liam’s indifferent voice continued to ring, “If you had died because of their negligence, I wish you the sa generosity with your spirit beyond.”
Zoey’s expression changed a bit.
Originally, Hope had asked Wesley to take care of Zoey in Country Y, but Wesley took it upon himself to send her to the island.
Acting on his own accord was one thing, but midway, he directly handed her over to Eliana. Yet, Eliana was prideful and didn’t treat escorting Zoey as a mission, leaving her behind midway.
As for Roman, he indeed did things by the book.
His mistake was that, despite Zoey having Eliana’s token, he did not make the correct judgnt, nor did he report it, and directly tossed her out.
Any one of these steps nearly cost Zoey her life.
And Zoey, being agreeable, kept saying it was okay, it was okay, foolish and happy-go-lucky as she was.
Liam shook his head, lightly snorting.
“Silly girl, when you’re out there, don’t be so carefree, and you don’t need to be so agreeable, understand?”
Unprepared, Zoey felt a ripple rise in her heart.
Was he patiently teaching her a lesson?
She nodded, “Yes, I got it.”
Liam said nothing more.
Since there weren’t many people dining here, their dishes soon arrived all at once.
And just as the waiter was serving the last dish, a little girl rushed in from outside, on the verge of bumping into the waiter carrying a large tray of dishes.
Liam, sitting on the edge, noticed with his peripheral vision and swiftly pulled the little girl aside, preventing her from colliding with the waiter.
Zoey also witnessed it. She was shocked, watching the little girl who had fallen to the ground, breaking into a cold sweat.
If the dish had fallen on the girl, it would have been scalding hot plates, but fortunately, Liam acted quickly.
Zoey’s eyes sparkled as she looked at Liam, while he withdrew his hand nonchalantly, acting as if nothing had happened.
The little girl, clearly frightened, sat on the ground, stunned.
Zoey imdiately got up and carefully crouched beside the little girl, gently asking, “Are you okay, little one?”
The little girl looked up, her eyes glistening as she gazed at Zoey. She was wearing a pink princess dress with two playful pigtails, holding an exquisite doll in her arms.
Taking a closer look, Zoey realized.
This… isn’t she Evelyn Sinclair’s daughter, Olivia?
Zoey was surprised, “Olivia?”
The little girl slowly ca back to her senses, timidly looking at her.
Hearing this na, Liam also twitched his eyebrows, his gaze falling on the little girl sitting on the ground.
Zoey didn’t understand how Olivia ended up here. She looked back but didn’t see anyone from the Sinclair family.
Zoey helped Olivia up, “Olivia, what are you doing here, where’s your mom?”
The little girl clutched the doll tightly. Clearly, this place was unfamiliar to her, and these people were strangers as well. Her bright eyes were full of timidity.
But her eyes shifted among them, seemingly searching for soone, and finally, Olivia’s gaze landed directly on Liam, then she directly called out: “Daddy.”
All of a sudden.
The people at the dining table all fell silent.
Olivia ran directly toward Liam, her soft, sticky voice calling out tenderly, “Daddy.”
Liam frowned at this address, glanced down at the little girl, a hint of anger flashing in his eyes, “Did your mom tell you to co?”
A little girl like her couldn’t possibly have co on her own; soone must have brought her.
And calling him daddy was surely sothing she had been specifically taught to say.
Such a little trick could hardly deceive Liam.
