Shen Ming’s eyes flashed with a trace of surprise, but he quickly suppressed it. "Cousin, is something troubling you?"

"No," An’an said coldly, clearly not in the mood to answer.

The more she denied it, the more suspicious Shen Ming became. He felt An’an’s temperament was quite erratic and strange. Even if she reacted differently to different people, the contrast shouldn’t be this evident.

He had invested a lot of effort in this cousin. He’d studied her at times, even more so than Xu Qigang, who, in his mind, would eventually bee a dead man. His biggest rival was undoubtedly An’an.

Anyone valued by Grandpa was no simple character.

"Cousin, you’re Grandpa’s most beloved granddaughter, and I’m your blood cousin. Even though the Shen Family is in decline, we still have our foundation. Remember to tell me if you run into any trouble."

An’an scrutinized Shen Ming with dark eyes, filled with inspection, criticism, and disdain. Just when Shen Ming’s face was growing more sullen, she suddenly smiled and spoke indifferently, "Cousin, didn’t you e looking for me during New Year’s because you’re in trouble?"

"Cousin, you’re indeed smart." He knew nothing could be concealed from her.

"I’m hungry. If you don’t say anything, I’m going home." Saying this, An’an turned to leave, but was grabbed from behind by Shen Ming.

Forget it. He originally wanted to extract more information, but it seemed this little girl was truly tricky.

"Did Grandpa leave all the family’s resources to you before he died?"

An’an nodded, "I don’t like you pretending to be unaware. In my eyes, you look like a monkey jumping around."

Very good, truly excellent—what a sharp tongue. The Shen Family hasn’t had such a sharp mouth before. She’s indeed Hai Yunfeng’s daughter. Shen Ming suppressed his anger, maintaining a gentle facade, and decided to be straightforward. "Our Shen Family is in trouble. We need those resources. Please hand them over!"

"In what capacity are you asking me for things?" An’an forcefully freed her wrist, expressionlessly rubbing the bruised area. "Why should I give them to you?"

"Because I am a Shen."

"You’re a Shen, and I am a Sheng. What does that have to do with me?" An’an looked at him with pity, her eyes full of sarcasm, stabbing like needles into Shen Ming’s heart.

She truly had a way with just a look that made one wish to get rid of her. Shen Ming stepped back, realizing that if she was unwilling to relinquish the power in her hands, then he wouldn’t hold back.

The resources Grandpa left were his last chance to turn things around, and he would never give up. He would do whatever it takes to obtain them. If she was willing to give, great; if not, she shouldn’t blame him for being ruthless.

"But what you hold in your hand belongs to the Shen name. What right do you have to wield it?"

"Grandpa gave it to me. Why don’t you reflect on why he didn’t give it to you?"

An’an’s words made Shen Ming’s face turn red with anger. "Cousin, I’m treating you leniently because of your age. If you’re unwilling to give, then forget it." With that, he turned and left without looking back.

An’an stood there, momentarily surprised. She didn’t expect Shen Ming to give up so easily; this wasn’t possible.

Shen Ming hadn’t walked more than ten steps when he suddenly stopped, turned around, and sneered at An’an, as if he had already figured everything out. "Cousin."
