As soon as words failed, fighting ensued. The Angel Envoy’s words clearly were less effective than Song Ning’s, as disciples surged forward and started beating Yan Hongzhao. Left with no choice, the Envoy had to join in to defend her.

He didn’t really care about Yan Hongzhao’s well-being, but since he was the one who had brought her up the mountain and they hadn’t yet t the Sect Hierarch, dying here would probably lead to him being held accountable by Song Huaxu.

Just thinking about Song Huaxu’s thods made the Angel Envoy’s scalp tingle.

"If you don’t stop, I won’t be polite anymore!" Facing the disciples, he couldn’t bring himself to be ruthless. He quickly took so hits, holding back his frustration as he muttered coldly.

Seeing him get serious caused the disciples to hesitate montarily.

At that mont, Song Ning let out a cold laugh.

"Angel Envoy, you are in cahoots with this female bandit, even indulging her in hurting . We will punish her together. Just do it, if the Sect Hierarch holds anyone accountable, I will take the bla!"

Her words eased the disciples’ worries.

They attacked without reservation.

Yan Hongzhao grabbed a disciple who tried to sneak attack her and twisted his neck, then laughed coldly, "I thought the Divine Church of Light was upright and abided by rules. Who knew it was filled with cowards who can’t tell right from wrong. Following such a woman who distorts the truth is truly shaful!"

As she spoke, she looked up sarcastically at the Angel Envoy, "I thought you held a high position in this church, yet you are less than this woman, amusing!"

Yan Hongzhao showed no rcy. Whoever attacked her fiercely, she killed them outright.

All these days, she had been fighting continuously outside, facing countless cunning and treacherous bandits. If it weren’t for her rcilessness, she would have died countless tis over.

She had no patience for this group of people who couldn’t differentiate right from wrong.

They were all re lapdogs of the Divine Church of Light.

Killing them was rely removing a scourge from the world.

Yan Hongzhao dared to say that each of them had blood on their hands.

Listening to Yan Hongzhao’s mockery, the Angel Envoy’s expression grew even darker. He spun around, knocking down a group of people, and pulled out his sword, his voice chilling, "Enough—!"

His voice, mixed with inner strength, echoed through the church. The sword wind blew away Song Ning’s hair, dropping a lock of it.

Outside the porch,

Yan Wanqing and Xiao Pingfeng looked at each other.

"From the sound of it, they must be fighting." Yan Wanqing tucked her feathered fan into her waist, ready to climb up the wall to take a look.

Xiao Pingfeng sighed helplessly. He took a horse stance at the corner of the wall, then patted his legs, gesturing for her to co up.

"Such bravery! Well, don’t mind if I do." Yan Wanqing deftly stepped on his knee and leaned over the wall.

"Oof!" As soon as she reached the top, she saw the garden was a ss, the scene of a fierce fight. Amidst the scattered petals, she saw her younger sister Hongzhao, clad in red, moving gracefully like a startled swan among a group of attackers. Her ruthless strikes, combined with the beautiful cascade of petals, evoked a sense of tragic beauty.

"How’s it going?" Xiao Pingfeng, concerned she might lose her balance, supported her waist and asked.

Yan Wanqing clicked her tongue, "Where did Hongzhao learn these treacherous moves? I don’t rember teaching her that."

This kick of hers would probably crush one’s lineage.

Just looking at it was painful.

Xiao Pingfeng puzzled, "She must have learned them during her travels."

Yan Wanqing’s gaze shifted to the Angel Envoy fighting beside her and she slightly raised an eyebrow.

This was a familiar face.

Looking at this face, her eyes turned slightly cold.

It was the sa face, but why did it disgust her so much when it was on the Angel Envoy?

She couldn’t help but feel a killing intent.

"Song Ning really is still alive."

Just as Xiao Pingfeng was about to ask her what she had seen, he heard Yan Wanqing make this remark, after which she no longer watched the fight but descended from the wall.

"Let’s split up. You go to the bridge to et Xiaoliu and the others, and I’ll go find Shen Shuyun," Yan Wanqing said calmly.

Xiao Pingfeng instinctively glanced at her stomach, frowning slightly, but he nodded, "Be careful, and don’t push yourself."

"Hmm," Yan Wanqing nodded, also cautioning, "You too."

Neither lingered, quickly parting ways.

Yan Wanqing, for the convenience of her actions, promptly stripped a disciple of his clothes and donned them.

At this mont, the sun was like blood, enveloping the entire Holy Temple in the afterglow, amidst the rain of flower petals, the flash of blades and shadows, the din of voices, all evoking the tragic beauty of an ancient battlefield.

Song Ning, watching both sides fighting irreconcilably, worried about being affected, hurriedly told her people to push her back.

"The Angel Envoy has betrayed the Sect," Song Ning instructed the Dead Soldier, "Send the order that if they continue this stubborn resistance, directly convey the Hierarch’s order for execution on the spot, no questions asked!"

"Understood." The Dead Soldier imdiately went to carry out the command.

Song Ning then thought of sothing, "Where is the Hierarch now?"

"The Hierarch should be in the secret chamber," replied the Dead Soldier.

Song Ning paused for a mont, "He went to find Shen Shuyun?!"

What was Song Huaxu doing looking for Shen Shuyun?

Song Ning was sowhat anxious, "Push there to see."

She was worried that Shen Shuyun might utter nonsense, affecting her status in Song Huaxu’s heart.

Without any hesitation, the Dead Soldier imdiately started pushing Song Ning towards the secret chamber.

What the two did not know was that soon after they left, a figure dropped from the ceiling, none other than Yan Wanqing who had just snatched the servant’s clothes.

Yan Wanqing’s lips curved up.

It was really effortless.

She tiptoed lightly, leisurely following behind.

Following Song Ning would lead her to Shen Shuyun’s whereabouts, after all, the Divine Church of Light was so extensive, and she had been wandering aimlessly for quite so ti.

Soon after, Song Ning and her servant stopped outside a secret door.

The maid twisted the cup beside them, and the secret door opened in response.

Then she pushed Song Ning inside.

The mont she entered, she scread, "What are you doing!"

Even if Shen Shuyun’s nakedness was disregarded, why was Song Huaxu wearing only a pair of pants?

This scene unavoidably provoked speculation.

The Dead Soldier wisely lowered his head.

Shen Shuyun weakly slumped to the ground, her lips bloodied, her face showing sadness, and her eyes filled with hatred as she stared in Song Ning’s direction.

"Speak! What were you just doing?!" Song Ning’s face went pale, disbelievingly staring at the scene in front of her.

Hot tears stread down from her eyes, "Brother Huaxu, didn’t you say you didn’t like her? If you don’t like her, why can you touch her?!"

The clothes Shen Shuyun was sitting on clearly had fresh blood on them.

Not being naive, she naturally knew what those traces indicated.

Song Ning stared intently at Song Huaxu, biting her lip.

The mont Song Ning entered, panic flickered in Song Huaxu’s eyes, but he quickly regained his composure and dressed himself.

He looked at Song Ning and slowly began to speak, "All you need to know is that all of this was for your own good."

Song Ning was about to explode with anger.

"You do this with her, and it’s for my good?! Have you lost your mind, Song Huaxu!" In a mont of anger, Song Ning couldn’t hold back any longer and vented all the truth she had been holding in.

She was, after all, a modern woman, and this situation was just like catching a cheater red-handed.

Now the male protagonist says doing this sort of thing with the mistress was for the good of his wife.

Even for soone whose moral compass was as shattered as hers, this was baffling and incredibly hard to accept.

Seeing an unfriendly look from Song Huaxu, Song Ning felt a pang of fear and quickly tried to rectify the situation.

If Song Huaxu discovered she was not the sa Song Ning as before, he might imdiately decide to eliminate her!

That would not do!

She couldn’t afford to antagonize Song Huaxu, so she could only push the wheelchair up to Shen Shuyun and, without a word, struck her a slap across the face, "Shaless wretch! It must be you who seduced Brother Huaxu! It has to be!"
