In Corvus Hades’ mory, ever since he t Raina North, she had always been carefree and high-spirited.

She often presented herself in n’s clothing, though sotis she would switch to won’s, and then gallivant around as a self-proclaid champion of justice, although he more often thought of it as stirring up trouble.

Corvus Hades never stopped her, and even when she got into big trouble, he would secretly clean up her ss and cover her tracks.

As for the n, won, or androgynous individuals she attracted, Corvus Hades never took them to heart.

Because he knew all too well that Raina never felt anything for them, nor did she care to, even Jonah Rivers, the most unique among them, was rely a friend.

Corvus Hades thus naturally assud that Raina was like the wind, always following her whims.

When she grew tired, she would simply rest by his side.

Now, at this very mont, Corvus Hades realized he was wrong.

Raina was not like the wind, but a small boat that had drifted without purpose or direction, and now she had changed, she had found a safe harbor where she wished to stay.

In other words, Raina was in love, she had soone she truly admired.

And that person was not him.

This realization was like a sharp dagger piercing into his heart, and then twisting relentlessly.

"Cough, cough, cough..."

Corvus Hades opened his mouth, unable to utter a single syllable before he choked on the air, coughing violently, and then spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.

His already pale complexion instantly turned ashen.

"Emperor Hades!" Wraith suddenly exclaid in shock, even soone who had faced many storms and battles throughout his life, was so terrified his voice changed.

Raina instinctively wanted to step forward to check on Corvus Hades, but as soon as she moved, she felt a sharp pain in her heart, as if sothing was gnawing at it.

"Raina!" Elias Hawthorne imdiately noticed sothing wrong with Raina, and he quickly held her.

"Hiss..."

Raina gasped in pain, "It hurts..."

Elias Hawthorne imdiately asked, "Where does it hurt?"

"Everywhere you touched hurts." These few short words made Raina’s forehead bead with cold sweat.

Elias Hawthorne was startled and could only let go of Raina imdiately.

The mont his arm left Raina, her expression relaxed considerably.

Seeing this, Elias Hawthorne furrowed his brows and was about to speak when Dante Drake walked in: "Master, Venerable Elder Rivers is here."

"Please, quickly."

Dante Drake followed the order and soon invited the elder in.

Venerable Elder Rivers was one of the esteed figures of The Dark Tower, held in high regard, but he was reclusive and rarely involved himself in the tower’s affairs. He had once been favored by Elias Hawthorne, and thus was always part of Elias’ supporters.

For this reason, it would have been nearly impossible to invite Venerable Elder Rivers otherwise.

"Greetings, Master."

"There’s no need for such formality, Venerable Elder Rivers, both Alliance Leader Rivers and Emperor Hades have been afflicted by Insect Venom. Please take a look as soon as you can."

One major reason Venerable Elder Rivers seldom interacted with others was his mastery of Insect Venom techniques, which, although taboo in The Umbral Zone, presented no real prohibition in the world.

Especially since Venerable Elder Rivers rely enjoyed studying them, never using them on people. Moreover, with the protection of The Dark Tower, he could indulge in his fascination with Insect Venom.

"As you command." Upon hearing Elias Hawthorne’s request, Venerable Elder Rivers turned to look at Raina, examining her carefully before saying, "Alliance Leader Rivers is afflicted with the Love Subjugation Venom."

"The Love Subjugation Venom?" Lune couldn’t hold back, anxiously asking, "What is the Love Subjugation Venom?"
