The beautifully shaped thin lips covered her pink lips, gentle yet attentive, but the large hand holding her waist grew tighter, and the delicate, soft kiss turned increasingly intense.

It swept over every inch of her sweet place like a storm, as if to devour her whole.

This wasn’t the first kiss between her and Elias Hawthorne, but it was the most thrilling. In that mont, she felt her soul was about to be completely absorbed.

Yet inexplicably, it moved her; her arms wrapped around the man’s neck, joining him in his wildness.

After a long while, the kiss gradually ended.

Elias’s large palm gently caressed her back, calming her breaths as he looked at her with earnestness and solemnity in his eyes.

Raina North was sowhat surprised: "What’s wrong? Why are you looking at like that?"

Such a handso face staring at her; it really makes one impulsive, wouldn’t you say?

"There won’t be that ’in case’." Elias suddenly said.

Raina hadn’t yet recovered from the kiss, her mind a muddle, and she couldn’t comprehend what Elias ant.

Elias’s forehead was pressed against hers, their breaths harmonizing, as his dark, deep eyes locked onto hers: "There won’t be what you said ’in case,’ because you are by my side."

Raina hesitated for a mont before recognizing Elias’s words were responding to her earlier question on the stairs, asking what if sothing happens.

Now he answered her.

There won’t be an ’in case,’ because she’s there.

Raina understood the underlying aning—Elias was telling her that she is his weakness, his Achilles’ heel; he would never harm her and would not allow anyone else to harm her.

"Raina, do you believe in ?" Just as she was dawdling, the man’s words suddenly echoed in her ear.

Raina was more stunned.

Believe?

If it were before, even when she was in Southgate, if soone asked her this question, she would have only one answer, which was disbelief.

Yes, disbelief.

Even though the present Raina was no longer the pitiful girl she used to be, she still didn’t trust.

Aside from herself, she had no ans to trust anyone anymore.

Once, she trusted everyone, and because of that trust, she paid a heavy price; hence, she no longer believed, she didn’t dare trust.

But now...

Even now, she often felt as if she were dreaming.

She couldn’t believe that soone would act so recklessly for her.

Yet, there was soone—Elias Hawthorne.

Elias had done just that.

Raina suddenly recalled a phrase that said it would be foolish to harm those who genuinely treat you well because of past injuries, and that’s the true harm.

In this instant, Raina suddenly understood.

Like the sun finally escaping the clouds, pouring down golden sunlight everywhere.

Raina nodded, giving Elias a brilliant smile: "I believe."

Elias was slightly stunned; in that mont, he couldn’t help but feel overwheld by the radiant light.

He suddenly sensed that Raina had changed.

Although he didn’t know what transformation occurred in Raina’s mind, it was undoubtedly beautiful.

"Elias." Raina suddenly wrapped her arms around Elias’s neck, her legs gripping his strong and slender waist: "I’m tired; help take a bath, okay?"

Elias’s gaze shifted instantly, his large hand pinching Raina’s waist: "Okay."

Who could refuse?
