"Alright, President Hawthorne." Aidan Lynch smiled, their boss was indeed different when it ca to the Young Madam.
"Raina!"
Just as she stepped into the hall, a voice called out from behind.
Raina North stopped in her tracks, and when she turned around, she saw Beau Shelby hurrying towards her.
Suddenly, she felt sowhat disoriented.
In the past, whenever she hid herself in a fit of pique, Beau would always anxiously search for her everywhere.
"Raina! Raina!"
Every ti she heard him urgently calling her na, the displeasure within her heart would dissipate like snow under the sun.
Back then, Raina always thought she wanted Beau to treat her this well for a lifeti.
"Raina, you went too far! How could you have the police take Auntie Adler away? You’ve called her ’mom’ for so many years."
The reprimanding voice penetrated her ears, and the gentle, elegant Beau who always cared for her vanished like smoke.
All that remained was the reproachful Beau Shelby standing before her.
Raina felt a sense of loss.
"Raina, be reasonable, tell the police to release Auntie Adler."
Raina’s gaze gradually cleared, her eyes cold, "The police arrested Brenda Adler because she falsely reported a cri, what’s it got to do with ?"
"If it weren’t for you..."
"If it weren’t for , what?" Raina interrupted him, "Or are you trying to say that if I had obediently surrendered, Brenda Adler wouldn’t have been taken away?"
Beau shook his head, "No, how could I an that?"
"Then what do you an?" Raina pressed him further with questions, "Why are you chasing after now?"
"You weren’t like this before." Beau finally spoke after a long pause, disappointnt almost overflowing in his eyes, "Raina, how did you beco like this?"
Every word of his felt like steel needles piercing her heart, and the pain helped Raina understand that no matter how many years had passed, she hadn’t beco invincible.
Raina smiled, her expression radiant and dazzling, "No, I’ve always been like this. You simply never understood ."
"Raina, can you not be like this?" Beau looked at her with pain in his eyes, "Do you know seeing you like this makes feel terrible?"
"Then don’t look," Raina’s eyes remained unchanged, she raised her chin, "Young Master Shelby, don’t bla for not reminding you, if you keep pestering , your fiancée might misunderstand."
Young Master Shelby...
Such a cold and indifferent title made Beau feel very uncomfortable.
"Beau."
Before Beau could say anything more, Claire North ca trotting over.
Beau instinctively widened the distance between himself and Raina.
Raina noticed and slightly lifted the corners of her lips, revealing a mocking smile.
Beau saw it and felt uncomfortable, but before he could speak, Claire had already linked her arm with his, "Beau, why didn’t you ask to join you? I have a lot I want to say to sister too."
"Sorry, I have nothing to say to you." Raina ruthlessly turned away.
"Wait a mont!"
Raina coldly stared at Claire blocking her path, "Move, good dogs don’t block the way."
Claire’s eyes imdiately reddened, "Sister, do you have to hurt with such words? Obviously..."
Raina was impatient, "If you’re just here to talk nonsense, then I won’t be joining."
