"Leila!" Aaron’s face was sullen, his features twisted. "Are you sure you want to side with Raina against ?"

Leila was even more confused. "Chief Warren, I don’t understand what you’re saying. When did Raina ever oppose you?"

"Still daring to argue! Wasn’t it her who called to report to the inspection departnt?"

Leila nodded. "Yes."

"Then..."

"But what does that have to do with Chief Warren? Could it be that it was your idea to send those unusable moldy herbs to the second research group?"

"Of course not." Aaron outright denied.

"Since it wasn’t, what’s Chief Warren worried about? Right or wrong, the inspection departnt will investigate, and what we can do is wait for the results. Don’t you think so, Chief Warren?"

"Fine, Leila, you’re good." Aaron’s gaze swept coldly over them, staring icily at Raina. "Rember, this matter won’t rest here. At The Veridian Institute of dicine, it’s either or you, Raina, let’s wait and see."

Raina had always been indifferent to the clamor of such defeated opponents.

Without so much as a glance at Aaron, she instructed Leila, "Take so mugwort from the second row from the left in the dicine cabinet. I need to purify the air."

"Alright." Leila replied cheerfully and went off eagerly.

Aaron, seeing these two won treating him as if he were air, was filled with rage.

Just as he was about to teach Raina another lesson, his phone rang.

It was a call from his subordinate.

As soon as he answered, his subordinate’s voice ca through. "Chief Warren, the situation’s bad. The inspection departnt has co to investigate. You should co back quickly."

Aaron gritted his teeth and could only storm off angrily.

...

Claire North, upon hearing the news that Raina had reported Aaron, couldn’t help but find a place to laugh heartily.

Though Aaron was just a small team leader, he ca from a family with a vast network of relationships in the pharmaceutical world. Moving against him was akin to stirring a hornet’s nest.

This Raina was truly courting disaster.

Claire’s good mood lasted until the afternoon, right up until she received a news alert.

Originally intending to dismiss it, she paused upon seeing the content.

Breaking! Last night, The Hawthorne Group’s head was spotted on a late-night date with a mysterious woman!

Breaking! The Hawthorne could welco a new mistress!

Breaking! Who will beco the most esteed woman in Southgate?!

Claire stared fixedly at the phone screen where an indistinct but elegant figure was captured.

Others might not recognize her, but she did. That woman was none other than Raina.

So, last night Raina went on a date with Elias Hawthorne!

And while she was being troubled by those two little brats, Raina was actually on a date with Elias!

Claire’s delicate face suddenly twisted into a grim expression.

Raina, you’re despicable! You’re absolutely despicable!

...

The Hawthorne Manor.

Elias Hawthorne, dressed in a bathrobe, held a glass of red wine as he stood on the balcony, the night breeze lifting his hair.

Earlier, his grandmother ntioned that Raina had called to say she wouldn’t be staying at The Hawthorne Manor tonight.

Suddenly, Baby Hawthorne and Casper North were sulking and upset.

He was actually quite curious about what charm this woman had to make these two little rascals defend her so staunchly.

However, thinking of his own irresistible attraction to her, it seed less perplexing.

There’s an inexplicable allure about Raina.

Looks like he couldn’t hesitate too much; once a man with discerning eyes cos along, he’d surely hold her in his arms.
