Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Not His
Shen Heyu was awakened by a series of urgent knocks on the door. When she opened it, she was t with the towering figure of Pei Yansi.
He stood at the doorway, almost completely blocking the daylight outside, followed by Zhao Jin and many n in black, each looking rather nacing.
Shen Heyu was startled and instinctively tried to shut the door.
But Pei Yansi was one step ahead of her, using his foot to block the door as he coldly stared at her, “Give Yuexue.”
“Why should I!”
Shen Heyu obviously refused, using both hands trying to push the door shut.
Agitated by her fierce resistance, Pei Yansi reached out and grabbed her arm, pulling her directly into his embrace, restraining her from moving.
“Pei Yansi, let go! What on earth are you trying to do!”
“Didn’t we talk about this yesterday? To see whose child Yuexue really is.”
After saying that, Pei Yansi hugged her into the room as Zhao Jin and the n in black entered one by one, heading into the baby room on Pei Yansi’s command.
At this hour, the nanny had not yet arrived for work, and Shen Heyu was extrely panicked, fearful that he would discover Yuexue’s true identity.
“She belongs to Lu Yi, how many tis do I have to say it! You force your way into a ho and even try to kidnap soone, that’s illegal! I can sue you!”
But sothing she said made Pei Yansi laugh softly, the sound vibrating against her ear.
Shen Heyu then realized, she was abroad, whom could she sue here? Even if she did, how could Pei Yansi’s status be affected?
Thinking this, her heart gradually filled with despair, she asked, “If Yuexue is yours, what will you do?”
“Simple, I’ll take her back where she belongs, and you, the fraud, will also pay the price.”
His voice was cold when he spoke the last sentence, making Shen Heyu feel like she was falling into an ice pit. She knew, just as with her own family, he would not leave Yuexue with her.
Soon after, cries echoed from the baby room.
The few months old child had already started recognizing people, and realizing it wasn’t her mother holding her, she cried loudly.
She had just recovered from a fever the night before, practically strengthless, and her weak cry was heart-wrenching to hear, even more so for Shen Heyu.
She struggled in Pei Yansi’s embrace, saying, “Let hold her! Can’t you hear the child crying? All your n are brutes, they must have hurt her!”
Seeing her fierce resistance, Pei Yansi was silent for two seconds, but realizing she made sense, he temporarily released her, yet cautioned in a cold voice, “No tricks.”
Shen Heyu glared at him hatefully, ran into the baby room, and from Zhao Jin’s arms, snatched Yuexue.
Zhao Jin was pushed aside, stunned, not daring to say more.
At that mont, Pei Yansi followed in and saw Shen Heyu holding the child. Sothing struck his heart, a strange feeling…
He lowered his eyes and said, “Let’s go.”
Zhao Jin and the others quickly surrounded them, pressuring Shen Heyu.
Left with no other choice, Shen Heyu eventually held onto Yuexue and got into their car.
Although she was in the car, she felt extrely distant from Pei Yansi, as if he were so unforgivable demon. Seeing her like this, Pei Yansi ultimately said nothing, only fixing his gaze on the child in her arms.
Soon after they arrived at the hospital, they got out of the car, and Pei Yansi took her and Yuexue to complete the test.
He used special ans, so the results didn’t take long, and everyone waited in the hospital.
But given his status, he naturally waited in the director’s office.
Shen Heyu sat on the sofa, extrely restless and anxious, pondering what she could do if the results ca out and he wanted to take Yuexue away.
After all, Yuexue was a child she had risked her life to give birth to, a child that Bai Sheng’er had saved twice. It had not been easy, and she would rather die than let him take her away!
During the wait, Pei Yansi had soone bring breakfast for her, but she wouldn’t eat. He coldly gave her a warning look, and she reluctantly ate a few bites.
Before she finished, a nurse ca in with the results, “Mr. Pei, the paternity test is ready.”
She also took Yuexue back and directly handed her to Shen Heyu.
Holding his daughter, Shen Heyu felt much more secure.
Pei Yansi took the results and looked them over, growing increasingly grave. After a long while, he coldly turned to Shen Heyu, his anger unabashed, “Shen Heyu, you’re quite sothing.”
Scared by his icy gaze, she thought he knew the truth. Tightening her grip on her daughter, she said, “You will not take Yuexue away!”
Pei Yansi scoffed with sarcasm, strode forward, grabbed her chin forcefully without any tenderness, and spoke coldly, “Do you think I, Pei Yansi, would raise another man’s bastard?”
Shen Heyu was stunned, not understanding the aning behind his words.
Pei Yansi stared at her for a long while before finally letting her go, tossing the results onto a nearby coffee table, and turning to leave with his n.
The child wasn’t his!
Even if the child looked like him, the results wouldn’t deceive. Shen Heyu must have gotten together with Lu Yi not even two months after their divorce!
The more he thought about it, the angrier he beca, a fury smoldering inside him, making him extrely uncomfortable.
Zhao Jin and the others followed him, not daring to breathe heavily. They got into the car but didn’t dare ask where to go.
Pei Yansi waited a while; not seeing the car move, he glanced at Zhao Jin in the rearview mirror and said, “Not leaving? Want to stay here forever?”
Zhao Jin hurriedly started the car, understanding from his words that they were heading back to the country.
Shen Heyu was still in the office, holding Yuexue with one hand and picking up the test results with the other to look at them. The results showed that Yuexue was not related to Pei Yansi.
She turned to the nurse, “How could this be?” The doctor who conducted the test was personally found by Pei Yansi, and certainly couldn’t have been tampered with.
The nurse explained, “During your delivery, Mr. Shen had taken precautions and kept this report. This report is actually between Mr. Shen and your daughter.”
Shen Heyu breathed a sigh of relief.
Finally understanding what had happened, she then realized that she couldn’t stay at her current residence anymore, especially since Pei Yansi still rembered her address.
She moved house that night with Yuexue.
Pei Yansi returned to the country and to the marital ho he had shared with Shen Heyu. Seeing their wedding photo hanging above the bed and realizing that Yuexue truly wasn’t his, pain accompanied by a harsh bitterness filled his heart. Amidst the bitterness, there was also an indescribable agony.
The marital ho was dark, not a single light on, and dead silent. He sat on the sofa, and in the darkness of the night, his handso face seed deeply secretive, his eyes as deep as pools, making it impossible to discern his true emotions, and no one knew what he was thinking.
