Gu Siyu stood up upon hearing Yuexue’s words and walked to the window to look down. Sure enough, Shen Heyu’s car was gone; she had already left this place.
"Shen Heyu ca here following today. She must have seen the two of us. Are you okay with Shen Heyu knowing you have a secret base here? Do you need to move your camp?"
While talking, Gu Siyu also rose following Qin Jiu’er and walked toward the door.
"Don’t forget, Pei Yansi stands behind Shen Heyu. Now that Shen Heyu has seen Shen Jiangli, even if we move the base to soplace else, he will find out sooner or later."
"So you’re suggesting we keep staying here and let Shen Heyu slowly conduct her investigation?"
"I thought you hid Shen Jiangli in such a mysterious place because you didn’t want others to find out. It seems you aren’t afraid of people learning about Shen Jiangli’s existence."
Qin Jiu’er chuckled, already in her shoes, pushed open the door, and walked out, with Gu Siyu promptly following her.
"If possible, I wouldn’t have wanted Shen Heyu to find out about Shen Jiangli so soon. But it’s clear that when Shen Jiangli ca upstairs today, he bumped into Shen Heyu, and they caught up."
That’s why Qin Jiu’er didn’t see the need to move camps and hide Shen Jiangli elsewhere since they had already been exposed to Shen Heyu’s line of sight.
Qin Jiu’er’s words gave Gu Siyu a reminder. "Are you saying that when Shen Jiangli ca up today and ntioned he bumped into an acquaintance, that acquaintance was Shen Heyu?"
"Yes, but Shen Jiangli hid this from us. Whether he tells us or not, it wouldn’t have made much of a difference." Qin Jiu’er didn’t take this matter to heart at all.
"What about you? Weren’t you always looking for Song Miaoyu’s whereabouts? How co you’ve beco so curious about other matters?"
Qin Jiu’er glanced back at Gu Siyu.
Since he was looking for Song Miaoyu, he should’ve focused all his effort on finding traces of Song Miaoyu from the start instead of choosing to follow Qin Jiu’er today. While doing so, he accidentally learned about Shen Jiangli and began to be curious about him.
Gu Siyu shrugged helplessly as the elevator arrived; they both stepped inside.
"I would also like to find my senior sister sooner, but didn’t you just say it? My senior sister is best at playing hide-and-seek. If she doesn’t want to show herself, I could search every corner and still not find her."
"In that case, I might as well wait for the rabbit and seize the opportunity when it arrives, maybe when she sees I’ve given up searching, she will lose patience and appear before first."
Hearing Gu Siyu’s logic, Qin Jiu’er laughed disbelievingly. She didn’t buy that Gu Siyu could be so passive.
Despite him now acting as though he had given up, Qin Jiu’er knew he must be eagerly searching for Song Miaoyu behind the scenes, he definitely wouldn’t just passively wait for Song Miaoyu to show up on her own.
"If that’s what you think, then just stay at the hospital. I believe there should be soone else who needs you at this ti."
The elevator doors opened, and Qin Jiu’er stepped out, walking briskly ahead, almost leaving Gu Siyu struggling to keep up.
"Who?"
Gu Siyu’s phone vibrated with an incoming call almost at the exact mont he posed the question. He pulled out his phone and saw it was a call from Pei Yansi.
Perhaps Qin Jiu’er was truly like a diviner, as if she could predict the future. If she were to tell fortunes, she would surely make a fortune. She had already guessed that Pei Yansi would seek her out.
Gu Siyu stood still, watching Qin Jiu’er gradually walk away, then answered the call.
"Just now, your assistant Hu Xiaoqiu handed over the dicine pills you prepared to . Is it okay to administer them to Yuexue now?"
"That’s right, I had so urgent matters to attend to today, so I left early. You can go ahead and give Yuexue the dicine."
"Okay." Pei Yansi hung up the phone, and as he looked up, he saw Shen Heyu pushing the door open and walking into the ward. He had just returned from the residential area where Shen Jiangli lived.
"Gu Siyu said we can administer the dicine pills to Yuexue now. Do you think we should wait for him to co back?" Pei Yansi asked for Shen Heyu’s opinion. Since this matter concerned Yuexue’s life and fortune, he needed to be extrely cautious.
"It’s not a problem. Since Gu Siyu has confird that there are no issues with this batch, let’s give them to Yuexue," Shen Heyu said as he poured a glass of water for Yuexue. Pei Yansi watched Shen Heyu, his eyebrows slightly furrowed.
"Do you trust Gu Siyu that much?" Pei Yansi sensed from his tone that he didn’t quite trust Gu Siyu. However, according to the current situation, Gu Siyu posed no harm to them for the ti being.
"What do you an by that?" Shen Heyu, holding a cup of hot water, turned to look at Pei Yansi.
"Have you ever considered that although Gu Siyu stands with us now, the evidence suggests that Song Miaoyu may very well be in cahoots with Chen Wenzhou. And with Gu Siyu’s master, Qin Jiu’er, assisting Chen Wenzhou, haven’t you thought about the possibility of Gu Siyu’s betrayal?"
Pei Yansi was thinking ahead. After investigating and discovering that Song Miaoyu had used a car under Chen Wenzhou’s na, he beca concerned about this issue.
When he found out that Gu Siyu’s master, Qin Jiu’er, had chosen to conceal her identity to stay with the Chen Family, his concerns grew even more.
Shen Heyu took a deep breath, "I know your worries are not unfounded, but the current situation indicates that Gu Siyu hasn’t betrayed us yet, and he’s still on our side. Besides, other than Qin Jiu’er and her two apprentices, no one knows how to make these dicine pills."
Shen Heyu extended her hand toward Pei Yansi, signaling for him to give her the dicine pill.
Pei Yansi thought it over and placed the dicine pill into Shen Heyu’s palm. Shen Heyu brought the pill to Yuexue’s lips.
"Be a good girl, Yuexue, and swallow this heat-clearing, detoxification pill. There’s nothing seriously wrong with you, and we’ll be able to leave the hospital today."
Shen Heyu offered Yuexue a gentle smile, presenting her with the pill that indicated it was safe for her to eat. Yuexue obediently took the pill and swallowed it.
Shen Heyu then passed the glass of water to Yuexue, who took a sip.
"After you take the dicine, lie down and rest well for a while. When Doctor Gu cos back, we’ll have him give you a thorough check. If all is well, I’ll go handle your discharge procedures."
Yuexue nodded obediently. Shen Heyu set down the cup and, after a glance at Pei Yansi, left the hospital ward. Pei Yansi understood his intentions and followed suit.
"You shouldn’t have said those things in front of Yuexue."
