Chapter 525: Chapter 525: She’s Going to Sleep with Another Man
Lu Yi stord out of the café, cursing Chen Wenzhou all the way, feeling increasingly furious. He pulled out his phone and called Shen Heyu.
“I’ve dealt with my business here. I’m going to check into a nearby hotel. I’ll tell you the room number, and you can co straight over.”
Shen Heyu hadn’t expected their issue to conclude so quickly; she had thought Chen Wenzhou would stall him for a while longer, thus sparing her from facing the cruel reality so soon. When she heard Lu Yi’s words, it felt like a bucket of cold water had been poured over her, chilling her from head to toe.
Despite the warm temperature, she felt icy cold, as if she were standing in a hole of ice. After a long silence, Lu Yi, thinking she wasn’t listening, impatiently urged her a couple of tis.
“Are you listening to ? Don’t pretend you’re deaf. You might be able to delay, but your daughter can’t wait that long. If you want to ease your daughter’s suffering soon, I advise you to cooperate obediently.”
Shen Heyu took a deep breath and it took a while for her to find her voice. Hoarsely, she responded, “Okay. I understand.”
At her words, Lu Yi’s lips curled up in triumph. In the past, he had followed Shen Heyu around like a servile dog, no matter what he did or gave, she never truly saw him or treated him any differently.
But now, everything was different. He commanded, and Shen Heyu wouldn’t dare defy him. The feeling was indeed pleasurable.
However, the thought of giving Shen Heyu the antidote and her no longer obediently following his wishes spurred a complex emotion within him.
But he quickly shook his head; regardless, the first thing was to get Shen Heyu in his grasp. With this in mind, he booked the presidential suite in the best hotel nearby.
After booking the suite, as he was preparing to enjoy his ti at the hotel waiting for Shen Heyu, he received a call from his office asking him to make a trip there. Frustrated, he kicked the door; why did problems always arise just when things were going well?
But with the office urging him urgently, he had no choice but to go there first. After all, as long as he held the antidote Shen Heyu needed, she wouldn’t dare escape. He could attend to other matters and then co back to properly accompany Shen Heyu.
Lu Yi headed to the office, whereas Shen Heyu didn’t imdiately head to the hotel. She thought to delay as long as possible, not wishing to face the harsh reality so soon.
anwhile, at the hospital, the doctors had advised Pei Yansi, who had been overworking recently, to rest thoroughly for a couple of days and stay for observation. As he closed his eyes to rest, soone pushed open the door of his hospital room.
Pei Yansi initially thought it was Zhao Jin, but as soon as the door was pushed open, he detected a woman’s perfu scent. Startled awake, he opened his eyes and saw Chen Lingng sitting in a wheelchair.
Seeing Chen Lingng made Pei Yansi tense up and sit up, frowning bitterly. He did not welco her presence.
“What are you doing here?”
Chen Lingng maneuvered the wheelchair closer, fluttering her innocent eyes at Pei Yansi, “Brother Yansi, how could you say such things to ? After all, I’m about to beco your wife, not to ntion that I heard you were hospitalized, so it seed only sensible to co and see how you were.”
“You’ve seen how I am now, you can leave. The door is right there, don’t let it hit you on the way out.” Pei Yansi coldly wanted to drive Chen Lingng away.
Chen Lingng showed no signs of leaving; instead, she raised a hand to grab Pei Yansi’s, but before she could touch him, Pei Yansi sharply pulled his hand away.
“Can’t you understand human speech? I don’t welco you here; disappear from my sight imdiately. Besides, since your legs aren’t broken, sitting in a wheelchair everyday, can you really bear it? If you keep this up, your legs will atrophy.”
Hearing Pei Yansi’s words, Chen Lingng pretended to be innocent, lowering her head and pouting, “Brother Yansi, I’ve told you so many tis, my legs were seriously injured in that car accident. I might never have the chance to stand again in my lifeti.”
“And could you not be so cold to ? After all, we are ant to spend a lifeti together.”
Pei Yansi sneered upon hearing this, only then turning his head and looking up at him, “Who told you I want to spend my life with you? So no matter what sches your family uses, I will absolutely not let you succeed, let alone walk down the aisle with you.”
“The saying goes: A forced lon is not sweet. What you try so hard to obtain may not ultimately be what you really want. Do you even know what you are doing right now? You are literally courting death.”
“Brother Yansi, I know you can’t forget Shen Heyu, right? You are being so cold and heartless to because of Shen Heyu, but I have to tell you that Shen Heyu isn’t suitable for you. Because Shen Heyu has already agreed to sleep with Lu Yi, they’re probably already at the hotel, their room booked and everything.”
Initially, Pei Yansi had been unwelcoming to Chen Lingng’s visit and indifferent to her words, but this ntion suddenly caught his attention.
“What did you say? You’re lying, aren’t you!”
Chen Lingng knew this statent would sting Pei Yansi and she smiled smugly, having achieved her aim, “Brother Yansi, every word I told you is true, I heard it from Brother himself. Shen Heyu has agreed to sleep with Lu Yi, they are going to be real spouses. They opened a room outside for the thrill. If you’re not convinced, you can go and see, maybe that will help you get over it.”
As soon as Chen Lingng finished speaking, Pei Yansi imdiately removed the IV needle from the back of his hand, grabbed his suit jacket thrown on the sofa, and stord out of the door.
After exiting the hospital room, Pei Yansi quickly called Shen Heyu, but Shen Heyu did not pick up. After the call failed to connect at first, he dialed again, continuously calling Shen Heyu until Pei Yansi had dialed more than a dozen tis without any response.
“Drive a bit faster.” Pei Yansi still felt Zhao Jin was driving too slowly, and couldn’t help but urge him once again.
Zhao Jin helplessly glanced in the rear-view mirror at Pei Yansi’s anxious expression and explained reluctantly, “Boss, I’ve already floored the gas pedal, and I’m driving a personal car, not a rocket—I can’t go any faster.”
“You dare to talk back? I don’t think you want your job anymore—get to the hotel I specified as fast as possible.”
