Sensing that the car had been in the yard for a while without Lu Yi exiting, Shen Heyu walked out and gently tapped on the car window.
“Lu Yi, what’s wrong? Did you encounter so upsetting matter?”

“It’s nothing.”
Shen Heyu looked at Lu Yi’s expression with confusion. His face was pale as paper and his gaze flitted around nervously. Today, he seed especially strange, as if he lacked the courage to even look her in the eye after going out.
“Have you run into so sort of problem?” Shen Heyu was worried about Lu Yi’s state.
She knew Lu Yi wasn’t a scheming person, so whatever troubled him was likely to show on his face.
“No, what could have possibly happened to ?” Lu Yi denied it.
He went inside the house, poured himself a glass of water, and gulped it down.
Shen Heyu handed him a paper towel, and Lu Yi looked at her, puzzled as to why she was offering it to him.
Seeing he hadn’t taken the tissue for a while, Shen Heyu helplessly pointed at the side of Lu Yi’s mouth, “You’ve got water droplets by your mouth.”
After Shen Heyu’s reminder, Lu Yi hastily grabbed the tissue and frantically wiped his lips. Shen Heyu continued to observe Lu Yi’s condition and felt increasingly uneasy.
“Lu Yi, tell what’s really happened. Please don’t hide it from anymore. This will only make worry.”
Shen Heyu’s heart rose to her throat. Lu Yi’s expression clearly indicated that he had encountered so serious issue, perhaps sothing he couldn’t resolve on his own.
Lu Yi crumpled the tissue into a ball and tossed it into the trash can. He didn’t look Shen Heyu in the eyes but turned his back on her, walking listlessly towards the sofa.

After making up his mind, Lu Yi stopped in his tracks, turned around to look at Shen Heyu, and gazed at her with utmost seriousness.

“What on earth happened?”
“You must be prepared, this issue is quite severe.”
He reminded Shen Heyu repeatedly; it seed that what he had to say was no trivial matter—Shen Heyu took a deep breath.
“Go on, I’m ready.”
“Actually, I only found out about it myself, rember how Pei Yansi went to the abandoned factory to rescue you two days ago?” Lu Yi broached the subject with trepidation.
Rembering how Pei Yansi risked his life at the factory for Shen Heyu’s sake, her heart softened, and her gaze beca much more tender and gentle. A hint of guilt and yearning also surfaced in her eyes.
She didn’t conceal her true emotions, and Lu Yi, standing opposite her, clearly saw the feelings in Shen Heyu’s eyes, which made his heart suffer a sharp pain and fortified his resolve.
If this plan failed and Chen Wenzhou told Shen Heyu about the deal between them, then his relationship with Shen Heyu would be completely over.
If he did nothing and allowed Pei Yansi to continue pursuing Shen Heyu, Heyu would be mindful of the life-saving grace Pei Yansi had given her and would hold onto so lingering feelings for him. If their past love reignited, his own fate with Shen Heyu would also co to an end.

When Shen Heyu saw the familiar green-haired man confessing everything to the cara and the transaction photos in the docunts, Lu Yi noticed her body visibly shudder.
“The evidence is irrefutable; it’s all laid out in front of you. Do you still want to believe in Pei Yansi? He is nothing but a despicable and vile man who would stoop down to any level to tie you down!”
Lu Yi slowly raised his voice, becoming deafeningly loud.
“You have trusted the wrong person!”
