Chapter 443: Chapter 443 Fake Marriage
Lu Yi’s concerns were also on Shen Heyu’s mind. She stopped in her tracks and looked up at him.
Her gaze softened his heart. They had already left the hospital building and were now in the courtyard outside. The sunlight was sowhat dazzling, but Shen Heyu kept her eyes fixed on him.
“So tell , what should we do now? Yuexue has fallen into his hands, and if I don’t do as he says, Yuexue could very well be heading down a dead end.”
The Chen Family had gone completely mad; they even resorted to harming Yuexue. She was so young and adorable, yet they were willing to lay their hands on her—it was downright devilish.
“Heyu, don’t be afraid. We will find a solution to this problem; I will make sure to protect both you and Yuexue from them.”
Lu Yi saw the helplessness in Shen Heyu’s eyes. He opened his arms and embraced her.
Shen Heyu did not struggle; emboldened, he gently lifted his hand and softly patted her back.
This intimate scene of them clinging to each other was just witnessed by Pei Yansi, who was upstairs.
Pei Yansi stood by the window, witnessing this scene; his hand clenched into a fist so tight it seed soldered together.
The look in his pupils beca extrely dangerous and piercingly sharp.
After watching for two seconds, he turned away from the window. Shen Heyu also pushed away from Lu Yi’s embrace.
“Although Pei Yansi just promised that he would draw a clear line with in the future and maintain our relationship, I understand his obsessive nature. I don’t think he’ll give up that easily.”
Shen Heyu knew Pei Yansi well; after all, she had spent three long years by his side.
“So what do you plan to do?” Lu Yi inquired about Shen Heyu’s intentions.
Shen Heyu looked at Lu Yi with a plea in her eyes, “I’d like to ask you for a favor. It might require so sacrifice on your part.”
“Say it. Whatever I can do to help, I’m willing,” Lu Yi promptly agreed before Shen Heyu even specified the favor.
It was because of his prompt agreent that Shen Heyu felt hesitant. She already owed Lu Yi so much and did not want to continue to be indebted to him.
But under these circumstances, she had no choice but to seek help from Lu Yi.
“Would you consider entering into a pretend marriage with for a while?” Shen Heyu said, then subconsciously pursed her lips tightly.
“What did you say?” Lu Yi widened his eyes in disbelief. His eyes shone brightly at Shen Heyu, who dared not et his gaze.
Shen Heyu hung her head, thinking that Lu Yi hadn’t heard her properly the first ti. She repeated it, but her voice was as faint as a mosquito’s.
“I want to ask you to marry , a fake marriage.”
Lu Yi had heard her clearly; he was just so thrilled that for a mont, he couldn’t believe it was true. But after confirming what Shen Heyu said, he opened his arms and embraced her.
The one thing he had always desired was to spend the rest of his life hand in hand with Shen Heyu, and now she was proposing a fake marriage to him. Even if it was just pretend, Lu Yi was overjoyed.
Lu Yi held Shen Heyu tightly, “Heyu, do you know how happy I was to hear what you just said?”
Shen Heyu didn’t know, but she could feel Lu Yi’s excitent. Holding her tightly, she felt his heart beating faster and faster.
“I’ve always wanted to be the one by your side, looking after and protecting you and Yuexue.”
“But I knew you had just gone through a failed marriage, and would certainly not want to rush into another one so soon, so I’ve always stayed by your side as a friend.”
“Now that you’ve given a chance to try, even if it’s a fake marriage, I’m content. Rest assured, I will play this role well; I definitely won’t disappoint you.”
Shen Heyu felt his embrace tighten around her, and she struggled slightly.
Sensing Shen Heyu’s movent, Lu Yi imdiately realized it, released his hands, and took a step back, embarrassingly lifting his hand to scratch the back of his head.
“Heyu, I’m sorry, I was too excited just now. Did I hurt you? I’ll be careful in the future.”
Lu Yi tenderly apologized to Shen Heyu, and seeing him like this made her heart feel even worse.
She felt as though she had promised Lu Yi a false joy; he had been so kind to her and Yuexue, and she did not want to hurt him.
Shen Heyu felt a twinge of guilt and said softly, “It’s okay.”
“I’m definitely going to help you with this favor. We still have ti; why don’t we go register our marriage now?”
Lu Yi didn’t want to wait another mont, even if it was pretend; he could deceive himself, imrsing in the role he had to play.
Shen Heyu nodded, “I will certainly repay you for this favor.”
“Now, what are you talking about? You and I aren’t strangers. Why talk about favors or no favors?”
Ever since Shen Heyu brought up this matter, Lu Yi’s face was full of joyful smiles. Shen Heyu blinked at his appearance.
Was he getting into character too deeply? How could he imrse himself with just a blink of an eye?
“Then let’s go register first. I already have all the materials prepared.”
“Okay.”
Half an hour later, Shen Heyu and Lu Yi appeared at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau.
Nowadays, not many people are getting married, but there was indeed a bunch of people getting divorced. Shen Heyu and Lu Yi finished their procedures in ten minutes.
Ten minutes later, Shen Heyu and Lu Yi walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau side by side, with a red marriage booklet in hand.
Shen Heyu looked down at the red in her hand and couldn’t help but feel dejected, knowing that upon seeing their marriage certificate, Pei Yansi would surely give up on her completely.
Shen Heyu was sowhat disheartened, but Lu Yi was so elated his smile seed to reach the heavens. He cherished the marriage booklet like a treasure, continuously raising his hand to carefully wipe it.
Seeing Lu Yi’s actions, Shen Heyu didn’t have the heart to remind him that this was just an act, that it was all fake.
Never mind, he had helped her with such a big favor, sacrificing so much; she decided to let him be happy for a while and resisted reminding him how rash he was being.
“Do we need to tell everyone about this now?” Lu Yi gently stroked the red booklet and after a while, turned his head towards Shen Heyu, his eyes exceptionally bright.
Shen Heyu had already clarified the situation to him before they ca and had reminded him countless tis that this was all an act; yet Lu Yi’s expression did not seem like acting at all, but rather genuine.
Hearing his words, Shen Heyu simply nodded.
With Shen Heyu’s approval, Lu Yi imdiately took out his mobile phone, took two pictures—one of the red marriage booklets and one of him with Shen Heyu—and posted them on his social dia.
Just as the social dia post was sent out, Shen Heyu’s phone vibrated. She picked up to see it was a call from Pei Yansi.
