Chapter 441: Chapter 441: Change of Plan
“Say what you need to say quickly and leave,” Pei Yansi did not welco Lu Yi, his mood was bad, and he was even less eager to see Lu Yi.
Lu Yi had barely ward the sofa when Pei Yansi gave him an eviction order, prompting Lu Yi to sarcastically tug at the corner of his mouth.
“There’s no need for such hostility towards . I ca to see you today because there’s sothing very important I need to tell you.”
Lu Yi was thinking of Pei Yansi’s well-being; that’s why he risked ntioning this matter to him.
But Pei Yansi’s current attitude made Lu Yi waver; he reevaluated himself and weighed the pros and cons of the situation.
“Speak.”
Pei Yansi’s attitude was still very cold, making Lu Yi furrow his brows harshly.
Faced with his dismissive attitude, Lu Yi did not want to take the risk, but just as he was about to stand up, he suddenly thought of Yuexue; his heart stirred slightly.
With just Shen Heyu and him, it was difficult to guarantee Yuexue’s absolute safety. Although Yuexue was not Lu Yi’s biological daughter, he had been with her long enough to have developed feelings for her.
Thinking of Yuexue’s uncertain fate, now in Chen Wenzhou’s hands, Lu Yi worried about how he might exploit Yuexue to target Shen Heyu.
No, he absolutely couldn’t just watch Yuexue suffer. After weighing his options, Lu Yi temporarily suppressed his feeling of humiliation.
“I ca today to tell you…”
Just as Lu Yi had finally resolved to reveal Yuexue’s kidnapping by Chen Wenzhou, the door of the hospital room swung open unexpectedly.
The words Lu Yi was about to say broke off unexpectedly; he followed the sound and saw Shen Heyu’s anxious face, her forehead already beaded with sweat.
Upon seeing Shen Heyu, Pei Yansi’s eyes softened considerably.
“Shen Heyu…” Pei Yansi called out Shen Heyu’s na, lifting the blanket to get up.
But as Shen Heyu entered the room, she rely glanced hurriedly at him and rushed straight to the sofa where Lu Yi was.
As Pei Yansi stood up, his body stiffened, watching helplessly as Shen Heyu walked to Lu Yi’s side.
“Did you tell him?” Shen Heyu asked urgently, catching Lu Yi by surprise for a second.
Lu Yi shook his head, “I was just about to tell him, then you arrived.”
“That’s good, I made it on ti after all,” Shen Heyu sighed, her forehead already covered in fine sweat from her rush to get here.
“What have you made it on ti for?” Lu Yi didn’t quite understand what Shen Heyu was saying.
“You leave first, let talk to Pei Yansi about this,” Shen Heyu worried that Lu Yi might slip up in Pei Yansi’s presence, so she wanted to send Lu Yi away.
Lu Yi was uneasy about leaving Shen Heyu alone with Pei Yansi; he didn’t want to leave so easily, “Didn’t we agree that I would tell Pei Yansi? Would you prefer to tell him in person?”
Lu Yi worried that if Shen Heyu personally told Pei Yansi their daughter had been kidnapped, things could take a turn he didn’t want to see.
Moreover, the Chen family’s goal was to drive a wedge between Shen Heyu and Pei Yansi. Now with Shen Heyu so brazenly entering Pei Yansi’s hospital room, if the Chen family heard of it, who knew what sches they might employ against Yuexue.
Lu Yi had reminded Shen Heyu before coming to the hospital to rest well and keep her distance from Pei Yansi during this period; why hadn’t she taken his advice to heart?
“The plan has changed.”
Shen Heyu, with her back to Pei Yansi, took out her cell phone and opened the call log to show Lu Yi. Lu Yi saw that just three minutes earlier, Chen Wenzhou had called Shen Heyu again.
Then Shen Heyu opened a photo. Seeing the photo on the screen, Lu Yi’s pupils dilated; he almost shouted out, but luckily, Shen Heyu had the foresight to signal him with her eyes not to make a fuss.
“This is what he sent ; we can’t proceed with the original plan,” she said.
Pei Yansi was still in the hospital room, so Shen Heyu couldn’t be too explicit, but as long as Lu Yi understood, that was enough.
“Did he threaten you?” Lu Yi asked through clenched teeth, lowering his voice so that only he and Shen Heyu could hear.
Shen Heyu nodded. “So we can’t go ahead with the original plan.”
“What exactly are you whispering about? What plan can’t go ahead?”
Pei Yansi, standing behind them, couldn’t see their lips and couldn’t hear their conversation clearly; he felt extrely annoyed by their secretive behavior right in front of him.
Shen Heyu put down her guitar and looked up, signaling Lu Yi with her eyes; Lu Yi understood and briefly closed his eyes.
He communicated with his eyes to Shen Heyu that he would cooperate with her plan and not spoil anything.
After receiving Lu Yi’s eye contact response, Shen Heyu breathed a sigh of relief and turned to Pei Yansi.
“I ca here today to tell you sothing.”
Pei Yansi’s sarcastic gaze fell on Shen Heyu, and he glanced at Lu Yi standing beside him.
“That’s quite a coincidence. Lu Yi just ca to my hospital room to tell sothing too. Maybe you two should discuss it first before coming to talk to ?”
Shen Heyu took a deep breath and, boldly, took Lu Yi’s hand.
The mont she grabbed Lu Yi’s hand, he felt as if an electric current shot through his body. He couldn’t help but widen his eyes, both shocked and delighted, as he looked at Shen Heyu.
“I want to tell you that Lu Yi and I are going to get married soon.”
Shen Heyu had ntally prepared for a long ti before she could say these words, especially to Pei Yansi.
Lu Yi hadn’t been paying much attention to any anomalies between them, but upon hearing Shen Heyu’s words, he felt as if he’d been struck by lightning.
“What did you say? You two are getting married? How is that possible? I hadn’t heard anything about it.”
Pei Yansi, in disbelief, clenched his fists, his gaze intensely fixed on Shen Heyu.
This announcent from Shen Heyu was too sudden; she hadn’t even been in a relationship with Lu Yi before, so how could they be rushing to marriage?
“That’s right, we are actually about to get married. We ca here today to share this good news with you, hoping you will recover soon so you can attend our wedding on ti.”
Shen Heyu’s grip on Lu Yi’s hand grew tighter and tighter.
“You’re just speaking out of anger, right? You’re angry that I haven’t kept my promise to break off all relations with Chen Ling ng sooner. I’ll call Chen Ling ng right now.”
Pei Yansi bent over to pick up the phone from the bedside table, but Shen Heyu, anxious, knocked the phone out of his hand.
“Don’t!” Shen Heyu looked at Pei Yansi, her face drained of color.
Pei Yansi furrowed his brow. “You say don’t?”
“That’s right, I’ve already received your engagent invitation with Chen Ling ng, so I hope you can keep your engagent promise,” Shen Heyu said, her words contrary to her true feelings.
