“Move it! What are you dawdling for?” Chicken Head urged Pei Yansi.
Pei Yansi looked at the knife that had fallen in front of him, and finally bent down to pick it up. The sharp blade glead coldly, reflecting in his profound and pitch-black eyes.
“If you don’t want this woman to die in front of you,” he said, “then imdiately stab your stomach with this knife a few tis.”
Chicken Head threatened Pei Yansi, moving the blade even closer to Shen Heyu’s throat, on which a faint line of blood was already visible on her pale, tender neck.
“Don’t hurt her, I’ll et your demands,” Pei Yansi said anxiously as he looked at Shen Heyu.
He saw the cut on Shen Heyu’s neck from which blood was oozing out, and it felt as if his own heart had been sliced open.
Pei Yansi gripped the knife handle tightly, furrowed his brow, and, without blinking, plunged the blade into his abdon.
“Don’t!”
Shen Heyu, seeing this, cried out in fright.
She saw that Pei Yansi was seriously wounded, his abdominal clothing now soaked through with a large stain of blood, then he fell to his knees with a thud.
“Who would have thought he’d actually be such a romantic fool, willing to harm himself for the sake of a woman?”
Chicken Head saw the severe injury Pei Yansi had sustained and grew increasingly arrogant, no longer seeing Pei Yansi as a threat.
He glanced around, noticing that only a companion with green hair was left beside him.
He frowned and ordered, “Quickly get that rope and tie this woman’s hands and feet. I’m going up to check if that man has anything valuable on him.”
The man with green hair looked pale as paper. He cautiously walked behind Chicken Head and whispered with a mosquito-like voice, “I’ve seen that man in the newspapers before, he’s the CEO of a big company. Let’s just drop it today and get out of here. If they set their sights on us, we won’t be able to escape.”
On hearing this, Chicken Head’s eyes lit up, “If he’s a CEO of a big company, it ans his life is even more valuable. We can exchange him for money, and then we won’t have to worry about money for the rest of our lives.”
“Let’s forget about it. We can’t handle big shots like him. We should quit while we’re ahead and get out of here. If they’ve got reinforcents coming, we’ll be dead if they catch us,” the man with green hair still tried to persuade Chicken Head, not moving to get the rope to tie Shen Heyu’s hands and feet as he had been ordered.
“What are you dithering about? No wonder Scar Brother says you’re no good. If you’re too chicken to make money, then just get out of here and stop ssing up my business!”
Chicken Head turned and glared at him, his spit flying onto the man with green hair’s face as he cursed.
The green-haired man lifted his hand to wipe his face and, without saying a word, obediently picked up the thick rope from the ground.
“That’s more like it. n without guts should just obey orders. If I make money, you’ll get your share of the spoils, too.”
Chicken Head spat disdainfully at the man with green hair, showing no regard for his companion. He then quickly turned his attention, staring intently at Pei Yansi who was kneeling on the ground.
Suddenly, a foot stopped behind Chicken Head, and then the man with green hair took the rope and fiercely looped it around Chicken Head’s neck.
With a clanging sound,
Chicken Head’s hands went limp from being strangled by the rope, the knife fell to the ground, and his eyes rolled back as froth ca out of his mouth.
“What the hell are you doing!”
“You getting involved with people like him will get killed sooner or later. I can’t just stand by and watch myself get dragged to hell because of you.”
The man with green hair raised his hand and took a violent look at Chicken Head’s neck; Chicken Head’s vision went black, his body weakened, and he collapsed to the ground, kicking up a large cloud of dust.
Shen Heyu turned to look at the man with green hair, who didn’t harbor any ill will towards her.
“I’ll let you go, but according to our previous agreent, you have to pay ten tis the reward, and transfer it to my account now.”
Shen Heyu took a deep breath, relieved to hear that the man with green hair didn’t intend to make things difficult for her and Pei Yansi. She nodded lightly and quickly pulled out her phone.
She had the green-haired man recite his account number and transferred a large sum to him.
After the green-haired man received the money, he gave Shen Heyu an okay gesture. Shen Heyu’s legs went weak, and she walked step by step towards Pei Yansi as if walking on clouds.
Pei Yansi had already bled too much. Due to excessive blood loss, his face was pale, and his lips were void of any color.
Seeing him so weak, Shen Heyu’s eyes trembled harshly, and tears began to accumulate.
“Hold on, I’m calling for help right now. You won’t have anything happen to you.”
Shen Heyu scrambled for her phone, but when it fell to the ground, the screen went black, and no matter how she pressed the power button, it wouldn’t turn on.
How could this happen? The more flustered she was, the more prone to mistakes she beca. Shen Heyu looked down, and a tear as large as a bean rolled out of her eyes.
Pei Yansi, seeing Shen Heyu’s panic, shakily raised a hand and gently wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes.
“Don’t be afraid, I won’t have anything happen to .”
Shen Heyu grasped Pei Yansi’s hand, which was as cold as ice. She wrapped both hands tightly around his larger palm, trying to warm him up, but to no avail.
“It’s because you were trying to save that you got hurt. You absolutely can’t have anything happen to you. Believe .” At this mont, Shen Heyu could no longer hide her true feelings, and she looked anxiously at the man in front of her who was growing increasingly weaker.
“Shen Heyu, you do have in your heart, don’t you?”
Pei Yansi asked this question almost breathlessly, and Shen Heyu had to listen intently to hear his words.
With trembling lips, Shen Heyu answered, “I do have you in my heart, so you must not have anything happen to you.”
At the mont Shen Heyu spoke, a group of people burst through the door.
“President, are you all right? Take the president to the hospital imdiately and then check the surroundings for other kidnappers!” Zhao Jin’s voice was so loud that it montarily drowned out Shen Heyu’s voice.
Though Pei Yansi didn’t hear Shen Heyu’s reply, he saw her lips move. Finally unable to sustain himself, he collapsed into Shen Heyu’s arms.
Shen Heyu raised her hand, instinctively trying to support him, only to touch a sar of hot blood.
Her pupils dilated, and her heart felt as though it was about to burst from her chest.
“Pei Yansi, I won’t allow anything to happen to you. If sothing does, I’ll hate you for the rest of my life!” Shen Heyu shouted, holding Pei Yansi tightly.
