Shen Heyu looked up at the tall man before her, even catching a flash of ferocity in his eyes for a mont.
Unlike Pei Yansi’s cold indifference, his aura was sinister, laced with a heavy intent to kill.
She didn’t quite understand why Chen Wenzhou, with his gentle and modest appearance, could be such a ruthless person.
But seeing his current state, how could she possibly let him take Lu Yunlan away?
Regardless of what he said, Shen Heyu rushed forward, positioning herself in front of Lu Yunlan.
She looked at Chen Wenzhou coldly and said without flinching, “No matter what, I won’t let you take her away today, especially since it’s clear she doesn’t want to go with you.”
When Chen Wenzhou heard Shen Heyu say this, he had no reaction but laughed coldly. Then, disregarding what she said, he strode forward, grabbed Lu Yunlan, and attempted to drag her away.
Neither Shen Heyu nor Lu Yunlan had expected him to lunge forward and grab her. Lu Yunlan instinctively stepped back and yelled at him, “Please keep away from !”
Chen Wenzhou looked at her quietly, sighed wearily, and said, “So you don’t want to go with ?”
Lu Yunlan nodded angrily, “I won’t go with you now, please leave imdiately. Don’t make repeat myself, angering won’t do you any good.”
Chen Wenzhou gazed at her silently, biting his lip unwilling to leave.
His eyes blazed with resentful fury, revealing an undertone of pain.
Neither he nor Shen Heyu moved, and neither dared to walk away. There they stood face to face, each unwilling to give ground, tension filling the air.
In the end, it was Lu Yunlan who broke the silence first. She looked at Chen Wenzhou, her eyes filled with disappointnt, “I never thought you could be this kind of person, not only to lay hands on your own sister, but also knowing my brother is around, you still remain heartless.”
Chen Wenzhou didn’t speak.
He continued to look at her, his gaze chilling and frightening, making Shen Heyu’s heartbeat quicken subconsciously; it reminded her of the way she felt when facing Shen Jiangli, as if Chen Wenzhou might lose control at any mont.
Shen Heyu pulled Lu Yunlan back several steps, trying to distance themselves from Chen Wenzhou.
Seeing the two of them retreating, Chen Wenzhou was thoroughly enraged by their small movents of leaving him. The next mont, he strode forward, no longer caring about Shen Heyu’s interference, shoved her aside violently, then grabbed Lu Yunlan and said coldly,
“There’s nowhere else for you but by my side! You must co with today!”
Shen Heyu was startled, confirming everything she had feared!
As Chen Wenzhou dragged Lu Yunlan down the stairs, her feet barely touching the ground, Shen Heyu saw her nearly fall over.
She rushed forward, disregarding everything, grabbed Chen Wenzhou’s sleeve, and said fiercely, “Do you know this is illegal? If you keep dragging her, I’m going to call the police!”
Chen Wenzhou turned to look at her coldly, seemingly letting out a mocking chuckle from deep in his throat. Then, without regard for her being a woman, he pushed her roughly away with one hand!
With the inherent physical imbalance between n and won, Chen Wenzhou didn’t feel he’d exerted much force, but the shove still sent Shen Heyu stumbling backward.
Shen Heyu’s lower back suddenly slamd into the banister of the staircase, and her footing beca unstable. Her high heels twisted, and she tumbled viciously down the stairs!
With a terrified scream that echoed sharply through the quiet stairwell, Lu Yunlan turned to look, disbelief filling her eyes. Her face turned pale, and she swung around, delivering a fierce slap to Chen Wenzhou’s face.
She coldly demanded, “First attacking my brother, and now going after Heyu, have you gone mad?”
Panic flickered across Chen Wenzhou’s face.
He reached out hurriedly to grab Lu Yunlan, wanting to explain sothing. But Lu Yunlan wouldn’t give him any chance. She dashed down the stairs and scooped up Shen Heyu, who had already collapsed on the ground.
Shen Heyu’s head had struck one of the steps, and her vision had plunged into darkness; she now lay unconscious.
Lu Yunlan tried to lift her, but lacked the strength. She turned around, her eyes burning with rage at Chen Wenzhou as she said:
“What are you standing there for? Co and help!”
Chen Wenzhou stood stunned for a mont but quickly took long strides towards Lu Yunlan. Without a word, he bent down, lifted Shen Heyu into his arms, and carried her away from the staircase.
Just as they left, they bumped into Pei Yansi, who had co looking for Shen Heyu. He knew that she had co to see Lu Yi again early this morning. Rembering Lu Yi’s deliberate pretense last night, he feared that Lu Yi would continue to deceive today, drawing Heyu closer to him.
Pei Yansi hurried over with the intention of preventing any intimate contact between Shen Heyu and Lu Yi, but he never expected to et Chen Wenzhou carrying her like this right outside Lu Yi’s hospital room.
Shen Heyu lay in his arms, seemingly unconscious. Pei Yansi’s face quickly darkened with a streak of fierceness as he stepped forward and coldly stared at Chen Wenzhou, “Give her to !”
Chen Wenzhou did not hesitate to hand Shen Heyu over.
Cradling her, Pei Yansi saw her pale face and directed his gaze at Chen Wenzhou, “What happened here?”
After speaking, he realized that this was not the most pressing matter. He imdiately carried Shen Heyu to find a doctor, with Lu Yunan following closely behind. Chen Wenzhou took a glance at her retreating figure and followed as well.
Shen Heyu was rushed into the ergency room.
The lights in the ergency room were on, and several people anxiously paced in the hallway.
Pei Yansi’s face remained grim throughout. He stared coldly at Chen Wenzhou and said, “You better not have anything to do with this, or guess how I will deal with you?”
Chen Wenzhou said nothing. He simply looked at Lu Yunlan as he always did, caring more about her opinion than that of anyone else.
He stepped beside her and reached out to grab her hand but was pushed away.
Her eyes, filled with anger, stared back at him, “I never imagined that you could be so cruel!”
“Both of them are extrely important to in my life, yet you have attacked and hurt them both, hurting as well!”
Lu Yunlan’s emotions surged as she scread at him, her eyes red and overflowing with tears that stread down her cheeks.
Chen Wenzhou’s heart clenched tightly as he watched her break down, feeling a sharp pain in his chest and the sensation of sothing shattering within.
