Chapter 308: Chapter 308: A New Way of Getting Along

Pei Yansi gave a noncommittal grunt and wasn’t sure whether he believed it or not. He dried his hair and changed his clothes before lying down next to Shen Heyu.

His body was still slightly damp and cool, causing Shen Heyu to subconsciously scoot to the side.

She wanted to put so distance between them.

Pei Yansi noticed this and held her even tighter, grabbing her hand and moving it down towards his body.

Shen Heyu was startled.

It was his body heat that frightened her—it was so hot, it seed it could scorch her.

“Help…” Pei Yansi’s voice was hoarse.

Shen Heyu shook her head in refusal, “You said you wouldn’t force to do this.”

Pei Yansi stared deeply at her, staying silent. Yet his deanor left no room for refusal, and his actions did not allow Shen Heyu any chance to resist as he forcibly pulled her hand…

Shen Heyu couldn’t fight back, struggling in his arms here and there until he grew impatient, finally rolling over and pinning her beneath him, “Are you not listening because you want to get serious?”

Shen Heyu was frightened by his gaze.

He didn’t seem to be joking, and if she continued to resist, he might actually do sothing inappropriate.

Sothing that shouldn’t happen between them.

But Shen Heyu didn’t want to be controlled by him either, nor did she want to be manipulated; she wanted to fight for sothing else for her dignity.

In the night, she bravely t Pei Yansi’s wolfish eyes, “Unless, you cancel our wedding.”

Pei Yansi paused, then said, “Are you bargaining with ?”

“I’m just negotiating terms with you,” she said resolutely, “I can obey you and live a normal married life. However, there won’t be a wedding.”

She still wanted to have a secret marriage.

Pei Yansi suddenly lost interest; what he wanted wasn’t just her simple obedience. He wanted everyone to know that she was his woman.

To make people like Shen Jiangli keep a respectful distance.

He said, “What if I don’t agree?”

“Then we’ll just continue as we are, facing each other in a standoff. I will not compromise, nor will I yield.”

Shen Heyu said, “Of course, I will also not look your way.”

Pei Yansi breathed in deeply, the scent of her body was identical to his shower gel, her body soft and warm.

But how could she be so cruel?

“Even if we have a secret marriage, will you look at then?”

“I won’t, but at least regarding marital matters, I am willing to listen to you.”

“Is this the condition you thought of all night to negotiate with ?”

“You can think of it that way.”

Pei Yansi sneered, rolling over and holding her tighter, “Are you sure?”

“Sure.”

“Good.”

Pei Yansi said darkly, “I agree.”

Hearing his chilling words, Shen Heyu felt sothing was off and a wave of fear slowly crept up inside her.

But it turned out, Pei Yansi didn’t punish her. Instead, he fully exercised the rights he had obtained that night.

That night, Shen Heyu barely got any rest.

It was only when dawn was breaking that Pei Yansi, in a rare act of rcy, finally let her go.

She was both tired and sleepy, and she had already fallen into a deep sleep before Pei Yansi had let go of her.

When she woke up, the sun was already high in the sky. The spot beside her in the bed was cold, devoid of any warmth, suggesting that Pei Yansi had left quite so ti ago.

Shen Heyu wearily fetched her phone and checked the ti.

Seeing several missed calls from Lu Yunlan, she was instantly startled.

Jumping up from her bed, Shen Heyu then rembered that she had a date with her best friend Lu Yunlan, who was supposed to et her old fla, Chen Wenzhou, together.

By now, half an hour had already passed.

Shen Heyu quickly redialed the number.

“My dear,” on the other end, Lu Yunlan picked up quickly, “why are you only making a sound now? I’m already on my way.”

Shen Heyu struggled to explain last night’s events, she just actively apologized, then said, “I’m coming over right now.”

“Alright, I’m just on my way too, originally it was him who wronged , so now that he’s back in the country, for our first eting, I certainly intend to make him wait a bit.”

Lu Yunlan said cheerfully, not minding Shen Heyu’s tardiness at all. After all, this was part of her plan.

After hanging up the call, Shen Heyu got ready as quickly as possible and prepared to leave the house.

Her daughter wasn’t ho, having been taken out by Madam Pei for so fun, and Pei Yansi was also not around, so her trip was not hindered.

Following the address given by Lu Yunlan, Shen Heyu arrived an hour later.

Coincidentally, she and Lu Yunlan arrived almost at the sa ti. No sooner had Shen Heyu arrived than Lu Yunlan followed.

She draped an arm around Shen Heyu and walked into the café laughing, “As expected of good sisters, even our timing to be late is exactly the sa.”

Shen Heyu gave an embarrassed laugh.

She just felt that they were excessively late; it had been over an hour, and she didn’t know if Chen Wenzhou was still waiting.

Walked into the café, a man in the corner stood up and waved at them, calling, “Over here!”

Shen Heyu looked in the direction of the voice.

The dim lighting of the café fell on the man, lending him a sowhat scholarly elegance. He wore golden thread glasses, had a handso face with well-balanced features, and exuded a refined, scholarly charm.

Shen Heyu searched her mory for his face, which had changed a lot since their school days, becoming much more mature and steady.

Even the smile on his face had lost the mischievous air of youth.

Shen Heyu turned her head to look at Lu Yunlan beside her and saw her face turn red all at once.

Shen Heyu couldn’t help but laugh and whispered in her ear, “You get shy too?”

Lu Yunlan glared at her playfully and led her to their seats.

In front of Chen Wenzhou were already two empty cups, and he looked at Lu Yunlan, “You still love to be late just like before?”

Lu Yunlan shot back, “That’s because it’s you who only deserves being late.”

Chen Wenzhou laughed helplessly, “Have you been well these years?”

His question made both Shen Heyu and Lu Yunlan fall silent, secretly exchanging glances.

His statent was just too straightforward.

Lu Yunlan, under the table, kicked him unabashedly, “Do you think I’ve been doing well?”

Chen Wenzhou winced as if in pain, then said cheerily, “I think you’re doing quite well, your kicking strength hasn’t changed a bit.”

“Looking for more kicks, are you?” said Lu Yunlan, and she kicked him again.

Chen Wenzhou laughed heartily.

As soon as he spoke, all traces of his previously gentle and scholarly deanor vanished, leaving Shen Heyu stunned, finally understanding what so people ant when they talked about losing all decorum upon opening their mouths.

She was pondering this when she noticed on the stairway a familiar figure standing there, who had appeared at so point.
