Hearing these mildly familiar words, Lu Yi turned his head to see Shen Jiangli descending from upstairs, with another woman following at his side.

Shen Jiangli had no intention of introducing Han Manyin, and although she was hopeful, she understood his wishes and stood quietly aside, without saying much.
Lu Yi recognized Shen Jiangli but wasn’t very familiar with him. He furrowed his brow and asked, “You saw everything?”
“Of course, I’ve been watching you from the mont she entered. The private rooms on the second floor have a transparent wall. Although I couldn’t hear what you were saying, I could guess one or two things from Pei Yansi’s expressions.”
Shen Jiangli sat down in the chair next to him, precisely where Pei Yansi had just been sitting.

Shen Jiangli was used to inflicting hurt with his humor, maintaining his usual hypocritical amiability that made it seem like any damage he caused was accidental.
But Lu Yi was unmoved.
He just felt it was all absurd. Successful people are usually very deliberate in their speech. He said in a heavy tone, “What are you getting at?”
Shen Jiangli raised an eyebrow, unsurprised that Lu Yi sensed he had sothing to say, and smiled, “I just wanted to tell you that Pei Yansi is not soone you can afford to provoke. Heyu will find her own way to leave if she wants to.”
“Don’t be presumptuous, causing her to indirectly infuriate Pei Yan.”
Lu Yi scoffed, “How do you know she doesn’t want to leave? She’s being forced, don’t you know?”
Unable to hold back any longer, he recounted all the experiences he and Shen Heyu had gone through over the last two days.
After listening, Shen Jiangli furrowed his brows, abandoning his usual smiling deanor.
“There’s been so much going on?” Why had she never ntioned any of this to him? Every ti he inquired, she simply replied that she was fine.

Shen Jiangli fell silent; the expression on Han Manyin’s face, who was sitting in the back seat, also turned sour. She sensed Shen Jiangli’s displeasure from what Lu Yi was saying.
He still cared about Shen Heyu in his heart.
Shen Jiangli failed to notice her discomfort and looked up at Lu Yi, “How about we collaborate?”
“Collaborate on what?”
“Getting her out.”
Lu Yi looked at him oddly, not entirely trusting him, as he didn’t know Shen Jiangli very well.
Shen Jiangli caught his glance, as if seeing right through his thoughts, he said gravely, “You don’t need to doubt . Haven’t I looked after her abroad for six years? Would I treat her poorly?”
After pondering for a long mont, Lu Yi finally nodded.
Exiting the café and getting into the car, as soon as they settled in, Han Manyin hurriedly leaned over Shen Jiangli in the backseat, unable to restrain herself from clinging to him.
She softened her voice and pressed, “Why do you want to help Director Shen? Are you and her really just in a superior-subordinate relationship?”
She knew she shouldn’t ask because he would get angry, but she couldn’t help herself.
Every ti she thought about him working with others to help Shen Heyu, she felt unhappy.
Shen Jiangli quietly looked at her face. He didn’t speak imdiately; instead, he reached out to stroke her waist and said in a deep voice, with a smile, “Are you questioning ?”
Her status was clear, and his words served as both a warning and a reminder.
Han Manyin could tell he was displeased and reluctantly remained silent, though her eyes still harbored dissatisfaction.
Shen Jiangli, for the mont, hadn’t lost interest in her and didn’t mind coddling her. He used his finger to lift her chin and said with a smile, “Know your place and status. Don’t ddle in matters that don’t concern you, and don’t ask too many questions, understand?”
Han Manyin lowered her head, feigning a gentle and obedient deanor, “I understand.”
Shen Jiangli smiled faintly; he liked people who were docile, obedient, and easy to control. He could see through her desires at a glance.
Shen Jiangli instructed the driver to head back to the company.
As soon as he entered the company, he maintained a supervisor-subordinate relationship with Han Manyin. He always handled these relationships with precise asure.
He never overstepped his boundaries with Han Manyin in a work setting.
Han Manyin also intelligently sat quietly and worked on her side.
Her office was in a hall with many other people; it wasn’t like Shen Heyu’s, which allowed for a private workspace. Importantly, even though she was no longer at the company, Shen Jiangli had kept her office reserved for her.

As Shen Heyu looked up, she caught Han Manyin’s scrutinizing gaze. Not caring much, she went straight to Shen Jiangli’s office.
She had initially gone back with Pei Yansi, and due to Pei Yansi’s anger, she had been thoroughly reprimanded as expected.
Luckily, a call from Shen Jiangli had co at just the right mont to rescue her.
She entered his office and sat directly opposite him, “Did you need to see ?”
“About your eting with Lu Yi at the café today, I’m aware of it. Pei Yansi has done so much; why haven’t you told ?”
Shen Heyu pursed her lips, “I didn’t know how to say it.”
“Do you want to leave? If you’re willing, I can partner with Lu Yi.”
Shen Heyu spoke seriously, “Let’s talk about it later.”
Shen Jiangli saw she didn’t want to discuss it further and changed the subject, “Now that the issue with the Lu Family has been resolved, have you considered coming back? Your office is still waiting for you.”
Shen Heyu said, “If you need , I can co back at any ti.”
“Good, there’s a client eting tomorrow that I need to happen, I don’t trust anyone else with it, so I’ll leave it to you.”
