Chapter 12: Chapter 12 Status No Longer Secure

Shen Heyu followed to the hospital, and by the ti she arrived, ng Ru had finished her examination and had been sent to the ward.

She didn’t actually need to accompany the celebrity for the checkup, but it was rely a formality on behalf of the company to check in on the situation.

Outside the ward, she ran into ng Ru’s assistant who was about to leave, and Shen Heyu asked, “How is it?”

The assistant replied, “It’s hard to say if it’s a big or small issue, the doctor ntioned that there might be a slight concussion, but we still need to wait and observe further.”

Shen Heyu nodded, “Go on, you’re busy.”

The assistant left.

...

Only then did she push the door open and enter, finding ng Ru leaning against the headboard. Various washed fruits lay next to her, and she scrolled through her phone leisurely without a care in the world about the small bandage wrapped around her head.

She walked over, pulled up a chair to sit beside her, and smiled, “I couldn’t tell before, but you’ve got so skills.”

She had certainly figured out that ng Ru had done it on purpose.

To even gamble with her own health in order to take down Bai Sheng’er.

ng Ru scoffed, not sparing Shen Heyu a glance, “It’s you who are useless. She’s just a little intern, what waves can she possibly make?”

Shen Heyu didn’t say anything, and the smile on her face faded.

Right then, ng Ru’s phone began to chi with notification sounds. She glanced at it and saw the trending searches.

ng Ru glanced at Shen Heyu, “Did you do this?”

Shen Heyu was confused when her own phone also started to ring. She looked at it and saw a ssage from her assistant.

It indicated that today’s incident in the studio had been recorded and uploaded to the internet, and it was now making an impact online.

Lots of netizens were launching cyber attacks against Bai Sheng’er, and so had even doxed her information, flooding the internet with accusations and curses.

And the harshest critics were ng Ru’s fans.

So extre ones were even calling for ng Ru to terminate her contract with the company and were also beginning to attack the company’s owner, that is, Pei Yansi…

Shen Heyu frowned as she looked at the screen, then back at ng Ru, “It wasn’t you?”

ng Ru retorted, “I just asked you that!”

Shen Heyu stared at the overwhelming curses, because soone had doxed Bai Sheng’er, and even the sketchy relationship with Pei Yansi and how he protected her had been dug up.

Bai Sheng’er’s reputation in the company was very bad, and everyone jumped on this opportunity to provide more negative materials online.

Pei Yansi was also being criticized severely… Comnts like “raising an intern,” “face-worshiping dog,” and “training the intern so fiercely that even top celebrities are bullied,” all saying he should imdiately terminate ng Ru’s contract.

Shen Heyu said to ng Ru, “You’d better not be behind this.”

ng Ru sneered, “Sister, I just hate Bai Sheng’er, I have no reason to drag President Pei into the water, right? This is obviously an enemy shared by Bai Sheng’er and President Pei. By the looks of it, you are the most suspicious one.”

Shen Heyu was, of course, very clear that to those in the know, she was the pri suspect, but she knew she had not done it, thus she had asked ng Ru.

Just as she was contemplating, Pei Yansi’s call ca in.

She sighed at the incoming call, having nothing to hide anymore, and picked it up in front of ng Ru.

As soon as the call connected, Pei Yansi’s angry voice ca through, “Shen Heyu, you’re really sothing.”

Shen Heyu frowned and said, “It has nothing to do with .”

“I haven’t even said anything yet, and you’re claiming it has nothing to do with you.” Pei Yansi chuckled with a sneer full of sarcasm, “Is this an admission of guilt? Get back to the company imdiately.”

He didn’t give her a chance to explain and hung up the phone angrily with those fierce words.

Shen Heyu stared at the darkened phone screen and heaved a heavy sigh in her heart. Inside, she was indeed the pri suspect in his eyes.

ng Ru, who was beside her, had also heard everything. She deliberately laughed and said, “It seems President Pei is angry.”

Shen Heyu replied indifferently, “I’m used to it; it’s not just today.”

He was always capricious, harder to serve than the Lord of Heaven. Shen Heyu was not surprised, but deep down, she felt waves of acute pain.

She even didn’t understand why, after so many years, she should have gotten used to being accused and suspected by him because of others.

But now she knew there were so things you could never get used to.

ng Ru saw a trace of unhidden sorrow in her eyes and laughed even more heartily, “Is your position about to be threatened? If you don’t make a move soon, that Ms. Bai will replace you.”

Shen Heyu smiled as if she had let go, “I wish she would.”

ng Ru gave her a curious look.

Shen Heyu didn’t say anything more to her. Speaking further was pointless. She packed her things, preparing to leave, and returned to her unchangeable aloof coldness, resilient enough not to reveal her true feelings. Her voice was clear and cold, devoid of warmth,

“I hope next ti, superstar ng can focus on work. Don’t pull this kind of stunt again; it delays your schedule and the company’s work progress.”

ng Ru really didn’t understand how this woman could switch her emotions so seamlessly in re seconds. She gave Shen Heyu a cold look and didn’t reply.

Shen Heyu didn’t expect a response and turned to leave.

Driving back to the company, the whole way she wondered how to face Pei Yansi, how to explain, and whether he would believe her this ti.

Even though she knew he wouldn’t believe her, she couldn’t help but hope.

Such thoughts made her sowhat despise herself.

After parking the car in the garage, Shen Heyu took the elevator to the executive floor.

She found Pei Yansi’s office and was just getting to the door when she saw soone nearly running out in a panic, obviously having been scolded by Pei Yansi.

She steadied her mind and pushed the door open.

The strong scent of tobacco hit her as she entered the office, causing her so discomfort and triggering a cough, which she quickly suppressed after a couple of coughs. Then she looked up at the man behind the desk.

Pei Yansi’s icy gaze bore into her, devoid of any emotion, as he said sternly, “Close the door.”

Shen Heyu obediently closed the door.

But she didn’t move forward and just stood by the door, “President Pei.”

Her voice was still clear and cool, pleasant to the ear, yet always carried a hint of distance. There was no fear, no timidity, nor the cautiousness one might have toward a boss.

This tone inexplicably irritated Pei Yansi. His already bad mood now seed to be covered with a layer of frost as he said coldly, “Co out.”

Shen Heyu frowned.

She knew that command wasn’t for her.

As expected, the next second, the door to the office’s rest area opened, and Bai Sheng’er walked out.

Her clothes had changed; she was wearing a blue shirt belonging to Pei Yansi.

Seeing that shirt, Shen Heyu’s breath caught for two seconds.
