Fu Shihan guessed correctly; he received a call from Li Mo during dinner at night.
"Is Wanwan pregnant?" Li Mo’s voice ca through the receiver a bit urgently. "Why didn’t you tell the family sooner?"
"How could I have told them earlier? I only found out yesterday."
Fu Shihan replied casually while eating.
"If you want to bla soone, bla your dear nephew, Young Master Lu. He knew before I did and didn’t tell ."
Lu Ci: "..."
He can’t be comfortable without dragging soone down, can he?
Li Mo: "Stop joking, you couldn’t even tell your own wife was pregnant, and now you’re blaming others? Lu Ci has sharper eyes than you; you should hurry and get your eyes checked at the hospital tomorrow!"
"...Fine, I’ll go book an appointnt at ophthalmology tomorrow."
Fu Shihan nodded, conceding.
"Might as well book an appointnt at neurology, so you don’t suspect soday that my brain isn’t working, and call stupid."
He believed he was being agreeable, but to others, it was just seen as banter.
Su Yao listened to him, surprised. Although she couldn’t hear what the other person on the phone was saying, she was still shocked.
She whispered to Su Wanxin beside her, "If Su Yu or Su Bai talked to mom like that, they’d get hit, right?"
Su Wanxin chuckled, glanced at Fu Shihan’s calm expression, and said, "Then maybe they should ask him how he manages to provoke without getting hit."
Li Mo was not interested in continuing the aningless chit-chat and went straight to the point, asking, "Are you going to bring Wanwan ho for dinner tomorrow?"
"Is Fu Yu’an’s school having a parent-teacher eting tomorrow?"
"Yes."
Fu Shihan moved the phone away a bit and whispered to Su Wanxin, "Mom’s asking if we’ll go back for dinner tomorrow night?"
Su Wanxin hesitated a bit and nodded.
Seeing this, Fu Shihan brought the phone back and said, "Yes, but we’ll bring two more people. Lu Ci and Su Yao are coming too."
Lu Ci: ???
Su Yao: ???
The two were completely baffled—when did they say they were going? How co they didn’t know about this?
Fu Shihan exchanged a few more words with Li Mo, then hung up the phone and put it aside.
"I don’t want to go to your house." Su Yao said, frowning, "I’m not going."
Lu Ci: "Then I’m not going either."
Fu Shihan raised an eyebrow, looked at Su Yao, and asked, "You haven’t been to my house yet."
"So what if I haven’t been there? What’s the big deal?"
"Don’t you want to et other mbers of my family? Aren’t you worried that Wanwan might go back with tomorrow and feel wronged?"
Su Yao paused, listening to him.
"What if, by any chance, I don’t take proper care, and soone makes her cry?"
Su Yao: "I’ll go!"
Fu Shihan knew this tactic would work on her. He smiled and continued eating.
He was sowhat worried, fearing Su Wanxin might not feel comfortable going back tomorrow.
And if the old man intends to make things difficult, he certainly wouldn’t explode in front of her, as she doesn’t want to see him at odds with the family.
So, to be safe, bring two people along. With outsiders present, the old man would definitely have to save face and would likely behave better.
Fu Shihan’s keyboard rattled loudly, and Lu Ci watched him, amused but helpless. He sighed, resigned to being backup tomorrow.
After dinner, wandering around the house for a while, Su Wanxin was taken upstairs by Fu Shihan.
Su Wanxin had agreed earlier to attend Yangyang’s parent-teacher eting and didn’t expect it to co so soon.
She let Fu Shihan inquire about the ti for her, then sent an email to her secretary to rearrange her schedule for tomorrow.
