"The night after tomorrow."
Su Yao was at a loss when it ca to matters of the heart, so she decided to seek advice from Su Wanxin, hoping for the best.
Su Wanxin thought her sister must be so desperate that she couldn’t tell which way was up, otherwise, why would she trust her advice?
And she didn’t even consider how she was faring over there at the Fu Family...
"Wanwan, co with the day after tomorrow."
"Why should I go? They didn’t invite !" Su Wanxin quickly shook her head.
"Please co with . I’m afraid his grandpa will bring up the engagent, and I can’t refuse him easily."
"Oh? So you want to be the bad guy?" Su Wanxin raised an eyebrow. "Will you pay ?"
"I’ll pay, whatever you want!"
"Then I’ll think about it and let you know tomorrow."
"Alright!"
Su Yao smiled happily and went upstairs to her tasks.
As soon as she disappeared, Su Wanxin imdiately took out her phone and started tapping away to contact Lu Ci.
Mu Suyu observed her mischievous smile and shook her head, thinking Su Yao was adorably naive.
Su Wanxin’s fingers flew over the keyboard, typing a line—
S: "Brother Ci, Brother Ci, what are you up to? Want to chat for ten bucks?"
Lu Ci was working overti at the office when he saw her ssage and couldn’t help but smile.
It’s rare for Su Xiaowan to reach out for a chat, so he had to make ti no matter what.
L: "What do you want to chat about?"
S: "I heard there’s good food at your place the day after tomorrow. Can I drop by for a al?"
L: "We have good food every day. You’re welco any ti you want."
S: "You really know how to talk."
S: "Alright, I’m done asking. Bye-bye~"
Lu Ci paused, feeling like it ended before it even started.
That’s it?
What did she even chat about?
Su Wanxin placed her phone on her lap, silently counting numbers in her head.
Finally, when she reached ten, a new ssage from Lu Ci arrived.
Her eyes twinkled, and she smiled slightly.
L: "What’s the little girl actually trying to ask? Go ahead, I’ll tell you."
Aha, that’s the effect she wanted.
Su Wanxin typed a punctuation mark and deleted it repeatedly, making it look to Lu Ci like she was constantly typing on his end.
Lu Ci frowned at his phone screen for a while, trying to figure out what she wanted to ask.
Not able to see her struggle, he took the initiative to speak.
L: "Are you asking about and Su Yao?"
S: "Yes!"
Lu Ci laughed: "What’s up with the two of us?"
S: "Do you plan on getting engaged? I heard from Fu Shihan that Grandpa Lu seems to want you guys to get engaged soon?"
Su Yao couldn’t be sold out, but throwing Fu Shihan under the bus at the crucial mont wouldn’t hurt, given his thick skin.
Lu Ci had discussed this with Fu Shihan before, so he didn’t doubt the truth of Su Wanxin’s words at all.
L: "Yeah, my grandpa is pretty anxious."
S: "And you? You’re Yaoyao’s first love, you know that, right?"
Su Wanxin chatted with him in high spirits because she’s known him for so long, and her mories of the past had all co back.
She felt that if Su Yao could be with him, it would be great.
Grandpa Lu was a particularly amusing old man, and the Lu Family was warm. Su Yao wouldn’t suffer if she married into their family.
This ti, she waited about two minutes before receiving another ssage from Lu Ci.
L: "I know."
L: "Wanna guess if I want to get engaged?"
S: "Do you think I want to guess?"
L: "Why’s the little girl so cheeky today?"
Lu Ci was puzzled but felt a bit nostalgic about her from a few years back.
S: "Fu Shihan didn’t co to my house today, so I’m in a good mood."
Lu Ci chuckled softly, took a screenshot of the ssage, and casually sent it to Fu Shihan.
Then, he answered her main question.
L: "If I didn’t want to get engaged, do you think my grandpa would really bring it up?"
