Lin Rui was amused by Su Wanxin’s reaction, chuckled, and then forced the smile back when Fu Shihan glanced at him indifferently.
"What are you thinking?"
Fu Shihan wondered why this guy’s thought process was so strange.
" giving her a ring? Am I out of my mind?"
"Then how did you track her?"
"Making a small tracking device doesn’t take much ti. Just put it together casually." Fu Shihan explained, "Previously, when she was still working at the company, I stole her lipstick and put it inside."
"I stole it!" Lin Rui raised his hand claiming credit.
Su Wanxin had never heard about Cheng Yao being in Canada before. She squinted, looked at Fu Shihan, and asked, "How long have you been investigating her?"
"Not long. Shi Yi told after you hit her, then I started to keep an eye on it."
"What have you found out?"
Fu Shihan told her everything he currently knew, and only then did Su Wanxin learn that Cheng Yao and Fu Shiyi were university classmates.
"I never heard Shi Yi ntion her before."
"Maybe she wasn’t worth ntioning." Fu Shihan said, "Cheng Yao’s presence has always been pretty low, even in my company."
"Yeah, yeah, I’ve been to the secretary’s office so many tis and never really noticed her!" Lin Rui nodded in agreent.
He’s the type who likes to go to the secretary’s office to chat with the ladies, so he’s pretty familiar with the situation there.
"Poor during junior high, and by college... very wealthy?"
Su Wanxin crossed her arms, bit her lip lightly, murmured, and after pondering for a while, looked up at Fu Shihan.
"What do you think the reason is?"
Fu Shihan shook his head, "Shi Yi and I have guessed for a long ti but can’t figure it out."
"Don’t you guys think this situation is quite similar to mine?"
Fu Shihan was taken aback and listened to her continue.
"I was also very poor before I was seven, then overnight wealthy when I ca to your family."
From wearing second-hand clothes and shoes to having all sorts of luxury brands, always chauffeured in luxury cars, her life underwent a drastic change literally overnight.
"Have you checked Cheng Yao’s parents in Hua Country?" Su Wanxin asked curiously.
"We’re checking, and haven’t found them yet." Lin Rui answered first.
"If they’re deceased, we definitely won’t find them." Fu Shihan said quietly, then questioned, "But aren’t orphans usually adopted at a young age?"
"There are always exceptions." Su Wanxin was quite familiar with orphanage situations. "In the orphanage I was in, the oldest was already seventeen."
They grew up in the orphanage, waiting for suitable people to adopt them, but waited for years.
"Later, an elderly couple from abroad adopted them. The elderly might not have had the energy to take care of young children, so they chose soone slightly older."
If it’s according to Su Wanxin’s description, there’s a possibility that Cheng Yao was adopted by a wealthy family in Canada.
Fu Shihan was already looking into the purchase details of her residence, expecting results by tomorrow night at the latest.
"With that kind of money, why would she co back to Hua Country to work as your secretary?" Su Wanxin looked at pictures of Cheng Yao’s mansion, suspiciously speculating, "Fu Shihan... could it be that she likes you?"
Fu Shihan sensed that her tone was a bit off, coughed lightly, and denied, "No way, impossible."
"Then why do you think she’s around you, and so hostile towards ?"
