It had been over a year since he last saw her, and seeing her again felt like an eternity had passed.
Zhan Che had never seen her looking so healthy. Previously, every ti they were together, she was either lying in a hospital bed or looked sickly, seemingly on the verge of fainting at any mont.
His gaze was deep as he looked at her and quickly walked towards her. Su Wanxin seed to feel his stare and looked up, her face breaking into a beaming smile.
Her bright smile made many strange n around her unable to resist turning their heads for a few more glances.
"Long ti no see."
Zhan Che approached her and spoke softly. Su Wanxin nodded and said, "Yes, long ti no see. What do you want for lunch?"
The two of them started walking outside, catching up as they went.
Zhan Che couldn’t help but scrutinize her condition and, noticing sothing off about her voice, asked, "How long have you had a cold?"
"A week."
"The flu is severe recently; tily dication and drinking more hot water will make it get better faster."
"Drink more hot water..." Su Wanxin frowned upon hearing this. "Why does that sound so scumbaggy?"
Zhan Che gave her a look full of unspeakable emotions, sowhat amused and helpless.
Driving out of the airport, Zhan Che suggested going for hot pot according to her taste, but Su Wanxin unusually refused.
"No, sothing nutritious would be better."
Zhan Che: "???"
Zhan Che was surprised to hear her say that hot pot was not nutritious, puzzled by how much she had changed over a year.
Su Wanxin took him to a Chinese restaurant and, after ordering a few dishes, stared intensely at him, making Zhan Che feel very uncomfortable.
"Do you need sothing from ?" Zhan Che took a sip of water and got straight to the point. "It’s rare for you to say you need my help."
Although he had not seen her for a long ti, he always kept up with the news about her through various dia platforms.
As her forr primary physician, seeing her now healthy and well was more than enough for him. Even if she finally got better, it might not have been because of him.
Su Wanxin pursed her lips, remained silent for a while, then softly said,
"I’m pregnant."
Zhan Che: "..."
Zhan Che: "Huh?"
Zhan Che: "Why co to if you’re pregnant?"
Upon hearing this, Zhan Che imdiately panicked. Su Wanxin was initially upset about this matter, but seeing his reaction, her mood sowhat improved.
"Probably because I want you to happily be a father." She smirked teasingly, "How about that, surprised or not?"
"Oh my goodness." Zhan Che leaned back in the chair, sighed heavily, and looked at her with mixed feelings. "Whose child is it?"
He hurriedly asked, not waiting for Su Wanxin to answer, then added, "Fu Shihan’s?"
Su Wanxin hesitated for a mont, then nodded.
"I knew it." Zhan Che shook his head with a bitter smile, "You’re caught in his trap."
"Don’t say that; it makes feel really bad," Su Wanxin softly protested.
"If you feel bad, then don’t let him take advantage of you!" Zhan Che exclaid frustratedly. "Besides, you’re carrying his child, why co to instead of going to him?"
"I... I broke up with him."
"Su Wanxin!"
Zhan Che, angry, smacked the table, making Su Wanxin flinch and shrink back, smiling appeasingly at him. "Calm down, don’t get agitated."
Zhan Che rubbed his temples; having not seen her for over a year, just one hour with her now was enough to give him a throbbing headache.
