Su Yaoyi looked utterly drained and dead tired, yawning endlessly. Su Wanxin, puzzled, walked over and asked, "Didn’t sleep well last night?"

"No sleep."

Su Yao swayed on her feet, nearly collapsing onto the sofa. Su Wanxin couldn’t help but chuckle: "Then why drink coffee? Go get so sleep!"

"If I sleep now, what about tonight? I have to work tomorrow."

Su Yao felt utterly despondent, cursing Lu Ci inwardly for being such a jerk.

Wasn’t it all because he sent her flirty texts last night that she ended up in such a sorry state?

Su Yao struggled to stay awake, playing with Yangyang. She barely made it to noon, and after having a al, she crashed onto the sofa. In less than a minute, she was asleep — the kind you can’t even wake up with shouts.

She slept until four in the afternoon when Su Wanxin, plucking up the courage, woke her up. The thod was quite simple: she just had to shake her and yell in her ear, "Lu Ci is here!!!"

Su Yao was so startled she fell right off the sofa. Looking around in a daze and, after confirming that the Lu guy wasn’t there, she plopped down on the floor and whined, "You’ve been corrupted by Fu Shihan."

Su Wanxin was in stitches, helped her up to sit on the sofa, and asked, "What exactly did Lu Ci do to you? Why are you so afraid of him?"

Su Yao shook her head, thinking that he hadn’t really done anything, just talked to her about sothing.

He said his grandpa found out he had a girlfriend and was thrilled, and he wanted him to bring his girlfriend ho for the Lantern Festival.

If Su Yao had known what would happen, she would have never agreed to help him, no matter how much he paid. Now she was in a tight spot, and it was giving her a headache.

Although Lu Ci also said he’d help her bluff it out, so she wouldn’t be put in a difficult position, Su Yao felt that this bastard’s words weren’t very trustworthy.

Now she’s even considering going away on a business trip and coming back only after the Lantern Festival.

She dared not ntion this to Su Wanxin because she knew all too well her sister’s simplicity might lead her to speak well of Lu Ci.

Afraid of being influenced to be as simple-minded, she kept her mouth shut tight, without ntioning a word.

To prevent her from falling asleep again, Su Wanxin got her to play video gas for a while. By seven in the evening, Su Yao was almost crawling back to her bedroom bed, pulled the quilt over her head, and fell into a deep 12-hour sleep, waking up at seven the next morning to go to work.

The first day back at work after the holiday was a whirlwind of busyness.

Su Yao didn’t leave the office all morning, not even her office chair. Lunch was just a quick takeout, and then on her way ho in the evening, just as she stepped out of the company’s doors, she was stopped by a strange man.

Su Yao looked at him displeased and asked coldly, "What is it?"

It wasn’t even fully dark yet - was he playing a roadside robber on her? At the entrance to a law firm no less, what a spot he picked.

"Miss Su, our old master would like to have a word with you."

Su Yao raised an eyebrow: "Your old master, who might that be?"

As if she didn’t have enough people wanting to see her; was she expected to et with each one?

The man smiled and stepped aside, and she saw the black Maybach parked at the roadside. Then she heard the man say, "Our old master’s surna is Lu. He’s your boyfriend Lu Ci’s grandpa."

Su Yao: ...

Could she turn around and put in so overti? Suddenly she didn’t feel like leaving work at all.

Su Yao awkwardly tugged the corner of her mouth, unsure of what to do.

With the old man taking the initiative to co to her, it would seem ungrateful to refuse. But if she did go to et him, what should she say?
