"Because it’s not safe, if soone sees they will kidnap for money! I don’t want to give them any money!"

Su Wanxin: "..."

So, the root reason for not wanting to be kidnapped is because you don’t want to lose money?

The call connected again, and Yangyang imdiately shouted for grandma.

Su Wanxin was slightly startled and glanced at his phone screen with a bit of a stiff expression, then saw Li Mo’s face.

Li Mo seed to be back in the bedroom, the light inside the room was dim.

She looked tenderly at the little figure on the phone, her lips curved slightly upwards, as if she was in a good mood while softly conversing with him.

Yangyang, following his usual routine, delivered a perfect flattery, masterfully expressing the essence of "Gong Xi Fa Cai, red envelopes please." Then, without Su Wanxin being prepared at all, he suddenly turned the phone towards her.

"Grandma, I’m with mom!"

That’s how Su Wanxin ended up looking directly at Li Mo, who also didn’t expect to see her, stunned for a mont before speaking softly.

"Wanwan, happy New Year."

At that mont, an unnaable emotion surged into Su Wanxin’s heart. Her nose tingled, and her eyes reddened a bit.

She lowered her eyelids, took a deep breath to calm her emotions, then looked back at the person, and with complicated feelings said, "Aunt Mo, happy New Year."

She actually wanted to call her ’auntie’, but for so reason, these words ca out instead.

Li Mo lightly coughed with her right hand clenched into a fist in front of her nose, then slightly turned her head to one side, and after a few seconds, she sat up straight again.

She looked at the young woman in the video, who was strikingly beautiful, almost as if not long ago, she was still her young self, sitting beside her, smiling carefreely.

The words ’Aunt Mo’ reminded Li Mo of many past mories. She silently observed Su Wanxin’s features, and asked softly, "How have you been recently?"

Su Wanxin nodded, then heard Li Mo say, "When you have ti, co back for a visit, Aunt Mo has so things she wants to talk to you about."

Su Wanxin clenched her teeth, responded "Okay," and hesitated to say more. Just then, Su Yao ca up to call her to dinner, providing a kind of relief.

She watched Yangyang end the last video call, swallowed the bitterness in her throat, patted his head, and said, "Go ahead downstairs, Mommy will wash her face and co down soon."

Yangyang scrambled up and dashed out of the room. Su Wanxin knelt down, buried her head on her knees, and hugged herself.

So guilty.

So sad.

She stayed alone in the room for a long ti before slowly getting up, washed her face in the bathroom, and walked slowly downstairs to the dining room.

The al was already served, just waiting for her. Su Wanxin sat next to Yangyang and casually chatted with everyone as if nothing had happened.

The last day of the year passed in leisure ti.

In the deep silence of the night, after the Su family finished setting off fireworks, everyone went back to their rooms to rest.

Having immigrated many years ago, they had long lost the custom of staying up all night for New Year’s Eve. Su Wanxin lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to stop thinking about Li Mo.

She said she had sothing she wanted to talk about, what was it?

Looking at her expression, it seems... she didn’t seem to dislike her.

For Su Wanxin, this was sowhat relieving. But the heaviness in her heart still did not lessen.

She was afraid to see Li Mo, a fact Su Wanxin was very aware of. Even separated by thousands of miles, just by looking at her through the phone, her heart would tremble with fear.

After a sleepless night, Su Wanxin only managed three hours of sleep before it was ti to get up. She changed her clothes and went downstairs, trying to help in the kitchen, but was unceremoniously pushed out.
