The moonlight was cold and clear as Su Wanxin left the hotel. She took the elevator down to the parking garage, walking slowly towards her car space, guided by the moonlight and the lights.
Her mood was not good because she had seen Fu Shihan but hadn’t been able to speak even a word to him. She hadn’t even seen when he left the banquet.
For several days, they hadn’t exchanged a single word. She couldn’t help but wonder, if this continued for a few more days, would it be considered a peaceful breakup?
She walked on, her thoughts wandering.
When she saw soone standing under a street lamp in the distance, leaning against her car with one hand in his pocket and the other holding a cigarette, looking up at the moon, she involuntarily paused in her steps.
It was Fu Shihan.
Even though the lighting was dim and the distance was great, she could tell at a glance that it was him.
Fu Shihan heard the sound of her high heels and slowly turned his head, watching her as she approached.
He leaned against the driver’s door, not moving. Without him moving aside, she couldn’t open the door and get in the car.
"If you wouldn’t co out, I would have run out of cigarettes," Fu Shihan exhaled a puff of smoke, looking down at her. "What was there so interesting to talk about that you chatted with them for such a long ti?"
"Did you wait here on purpose for ?"
"What else?" Fu Shihan found her question a bit funny.
Besides her, who else could make him wait nearly half an hour in the cold winter weather?
Su Wanxin looked up at him, hesitated to ask, "How long have you been waiting?"
"I don’t know."
"...Then step aside, let’s get in the car and talk."
The temperature had dropped recently and it was especially cold. She had just co out, and already she felt chilled to the bone. She could only imagine how uncomfortable it must have been for him standing outside for such a long ti.
Su Wanxin asked him to get in the car, but he didn’t react, just stood there.
Finally, she couldn’t help but reach out and grab his sleeve, pulling him away from the car door and then pushing him into the car.
Their unintentional touch of fingers let her feel his body temperature. She frowned deeply, turned up the heater to full blast, and asked him, "Why didn’t you wait inside the car?"
"That would seem insincere."
Su Wanxin got angry: "Does getting a cold show sincerity?"
"If it can make President Su worry, then it is a success."
His roguish laugh left Su Wanxin at a loss for words. She knew he had sothing to say to her, but in a daze, she also feared, feared that he had co to propose breaking up.
She didn’t want to just dryly wait; she needed to find sothing to do, so she started the car and drove slowly towards ho, focusing intently on the road conditions.
Fu Shihan sat in the passenger seat, it took a long ti for the warmth to return to his body.
He stared at the quickly passing scenery outside the window, silent all the way until they reached ho and the car ca to a stable stop.
"Shall we talk?" He turned his head to look at Su Wanxin. Seeing her nod and agree, he then asked, "Here or at my place?"
Su Wanxin subconsciously wanted to say either was fine, but she sobered up at the last mont.
"Here." She adjusted the car’s temperature and the angle of the seats, sighed, and looked at him: "What do you want to discuss? Go ahead."
She was ntally prepared for anything, even if it was about breaking up, she could hold herself together.
Fu Shihan saw her composed deanor and felt annoyed. Because he couldn’t calm down at all.
"If I hadn’t looked for you, would you have just planned never to look for , not saying anything even when we t?"
He asked her in a low voice, a heavy discomfort in his chest.
