Wanxin couldn’t help feeling irked at first, then thought the heavens truly played fair.
She forgot about him, and he wiped her from his mory just the sa. Everything about each other had to be recounted by others.
But she ended up with a damaged brain from a drug-induced suicide attempt, what about him? What happened? Did he also take drugs in a show of romantic solidarity?
The casual thought made Wanxin scoff at its absurdity.
"Then you arrange it, do sothing to cheer yourself up," Su Wanxin replied nonchalantly, her eyes on the docunts. "Anything else?"
"How about dinner tonight?"
"Thanks, I have plans."
"Was it with the person from earlier?"
"Soone else."
Fu Shihan clicked his tongue, thinking this girl really had a way of stirring interest. She just got back two days ago, and he needed to queue up to have dinner with her?
Her schedule was busier than his.
Su Wanxin had to pick up Su Yao later; Su Yu said he bought them a house, thinking the hotel wasn’t safe. They planned to check out the new place in the evening.
After discussing the competition with her, Fu Shihan left. He also had plans that evening and thought about canceling if she had agreed.
The room fell silent again. Su Wanxin sighed heavily, shook her head, and told herself not to be influenced by him, to stay clear-headed.
Coming back to work for the first ti, Su Wanxin felt pretty good about it.
A bit tired, but more than anything, she felt a sense of fulfillnt, which was far better than idling at ho without a purpose.
After work, she left for Su Yao. Su Yao ntioned that people had mistaken her identity a lot today. Probably in a while, rumors about Su Wanxin having a doppelganger would circulate throughout the Imperial Capital.
"Wanwan, since you’ve co back, has anyone unwelco bothered you?" Su Yao suddenly asked after a mont of silence.
Su Wanxin looked at her skeptically and countered, "What do you an by ’bother’?"
"Like... soone with the surna Fu being particularly annoying?"
Su Wanxin chuckled lightly, "Indeed, there is."
On this topic, their opinions were quite aligned.
"I t Fu Shihan twice and found him really annoying."
"Steer clear of anyone surnad Fu from now on," Su Yao said earnestly. "You were bullied by them enough in the past when you were here."
Su Yao knew that the Fu Family would probably seek out Su Wanxin after her return.
Especially since there was a child involved—sothing she hadn’t brought up to Su Wanxin yet, and Wanxin didn’t know either. If she found out, she’d probably want custody of the child.
So Su Yao was already preparing the docunts, thinking about strategies for a custody battle against the Fu Family if needed.
"How did I provoke their family?" Su Wanxin wondered. "The Fu Family has connections and power; I have no reason to put myself in the line of fire."
"It’s not you running into them; it’s them coming after you," Su Yao snorted sarcastically. "Never mind, let’s not dwell on these unhappy matters. Just rember to keep your distance from them."
"Mhm, got it."
Su Wanxin nodded, but as soon as she agreed, she was taphorically slapped in the face.
And not just her, Su Yao was caught in it too.
The villa Su Yu bought for them turned out to be right next door to Fu Shihan.
Fu Shihan had heard about Su Yu’s sister before but had never t her. This was his first ti seeing Su Wanxin and Su Yao together. He paused for a mont, his gaze sweeping over their faces, then he relaxed.
Not bad, they were quite different. No risk of accidentally flirting with the wrong person soday.
Su Yao nearly rolled her eyes into her head upon seeing him. She pulled Su Wanxin into the house and slamd the door shut with a bang.
