Zhong Xian’s call connected, and Zhuo Yiqing exchanged a few pleasantries before asking, "Guess who I just saw at the airport?"
"Don’t beat around the bush, I’m busy." Zhong Xian was on the phone while browsing through patient cases on his desk.
"Su Wanxin."
Zhong Xian: ...
"Who??"
"Su Wanxin, the one you had a crush on." Zhuo Yiqing answered with a laugh.
"Stop fucking around!" Zhong Xian was a bit annoyed when he heard this. "Are you sure it’s Su Wanxin? She’s back? Is she alright?"
"She’s fine, in good condition. You’ll probably have the chance to et her in a few days."
After Zhong Xian finished his chat with Zhuo Yiqing, he hung up and sat in his chair, lost in thought.
A year has gone by, how fast ti flies.
He’s no longer Li Mo’s psychological therapist; the treatnt has ended, and Li Mo has rembered everything he once forgot.
He knows the Fu Family has been looking for Su Wanxin all year, though Fu Shihan doesn’t seem too keen on it.
Zhong Xian brought up Su Wanxin to him twice before, and both tis the other party seed disinterested.
Zhong Xian thought, perhaps those two really have ended things, cleanly and thoroughly.
Yet, from ti to ti, he would find himself thinking about Su Wanxin. As her depression episode happened while she was under his care, he’s been unable to get over it.
...
After arriving at the hotel, Su Wanxin just lay on the bed, not wanting to move. It was only after being urged by Su Yao several tis that she got up to eat sothing with her, then returned to continue playing corpse.
"I’m heading to the company now, you sleep."
Seeing her look so tired she could fall asleep any mont, Su Yao couldn’t help but feel a mix of amusent and sympathy.
Su Wanxin waved her hand at her and crawled under the covers, curling up.
She spent the flight lost in erratic thoughts, and upon seeing the bed in the hotel, she beca as sleepy as a dog.
She didn’t tell Su Yao, but she found everything here, every blade of grass and tree, eerily familiar, which made her uncomfortable.
She fell into a heavy sleep and woke up in a daze.
Su Wanxin picked up her phone to check the ti—eight o’clock.
Su Yao had sent a ssage an hour ago, saying she had social engagents in the evening and would return late, reminding her to eat after waking up.
Since an empty stomach is as hard as iron and as strong as steel, one can’t go without food, Su Wanxin decided to go downstairs for a bite, not wanting to starve.
There’s a 24-hour convenience store next to the hotel; she went to buy so things and walked back sucking on a lollipop.
Outside the hotel, many luxury cars were parked in the roadside parking lot, seeming to indicate so sort of banquet going on inside.
At year’s end, all the major companies are busy with various events. Su Wanxin is no longer surprised by such scenes, paying little attention until she encounters Fu Shihan face to face in the lobby on the first floor.
He’s waiting for the elevator, and she needs to go up, so the situation is a bit awkward.
Su Wanxin did not expect her first encounter with him since her return would be under these circumstances.
Her ex-boyfriend is dressed to the nines, while she’s holding instant noodles and biting on a lollipop, quite a contrast.
Fu Shihan sees her, his eyes montarily flickering. Su Wanxin decided to act as if she hadn’t seen him and turned her head away.
When the elevator arrived, Fu Shihan entered. Seeing that Su Wanxin intended to wait for the next one, he pulled her in.
Su Wanxin staggered a bit, nearly falling into his arms. Luckily, she reacted quickly, pushed him away, and distanced herself.
"When did you get back?" Fu Shihan looked at her with downcast eyes and asked in a quiet voice.
Su Wanxin stayed silent; he noticed the candy in her mouth pushing out her cheek, a flash of amusent in his eyes.
"Did you co back to find ?" he teased her on purpose.
"Have so sha, thanks." Su Wanxin finally spoke, brimming with hostility.
