In matters of the heart, being indecisive, accepting but not rejecting confessions, and wasting soone else’s ti is a particularly shaless act.

Su Wanxin doesn’t want to waste Mu Xinghan’s ti, nor does she want to be a shaless person.

"How do you know I like your money and not you as a person?"

Mu Xinghan laughed at her joke, probably guessing what she really wanted to ask, and thus gave her an out.

"There’s no such thing as a free pie from the sky—every pie from the sky fits a corresponding hole on the ground," Su Wanxin smiled and asked. "So if I want to live, what should I do?"

Su Wanxin had heard similar statents more than once, and over the years, he would occasionally tell her that he wouldn’t let her die, that he would find a way to save her.

So she thought about it seriously for a while, before finally speaking slowly.

Su Wanxin mockingly joked about herself, her expression indifferent.

"Such a brilliant Harvard graduate, and this is the extent of your comprehension?"

"I’ve been out these past few days for this reason."

"What if I said, I have a way to save you?" Mu Xinghan stared into her eyes.

Su Wanxin furrowed her brows, unusually out of ideas.

She was just a desperately ill person, lacking the courage to face death straightforwardly, so she reluctantly lingered in the world. Maybe one day, she wouldn’t be able to linger any longer.

"At this mont, shouldn’t you be crying tears of joy, transferring a huge sum to my account, or better yet, jumping up to hug and thank for saving your life? Why would you think of asking that?"

"Are you serious?" she asked cautiously, "Does what you say have the sa aning as what I’m thinking?"

Mu Xinghan stated each word deliberately, making Su Wanxin’s heart, which she tried hard to keep calm, beat faster and faster.

"Wanwan, you don’t have to die."

But how to broach the subject was a bit difficult for her.

She accidentally sared her alma mater’s na, and Su Wanxin apologized. But because she had been disappointed too many tis, she really couldn’t easily believe it was true.

Su Wanxin opened her mouth, but didn’t know what to say. She took a deep breath, then looked around a bit bewilderedly, her gaze finally returning to Mu Xinghan.

"Do you... really like my money that much?" she hesitated to ask Mu Xinghan, "Traveling thousands of miles to follow abroad, do I really seem like a foolish rich girl with a lot of money?"

"What’s the cost? If I survive, what’s the price to pay?" she clenched her teeth and asked, calmly making Mu Xinghan frown.

So she had little experience; Fu Shiyi had rejected many people, but she felt that her situation was different and couldn’t exactly follow the sa path.

Having heard it often, she lost the initial excitent.

She wasn’t very open to discussing life and death. If she could, she wouldn’t want to joke about her health condition; she just had no choice.

Throughout her life, she’d only ever received one love letter, which she hadn’t even had the chance to read before Fu Shihan threw it away. All these years, the only person who had properly confessed to her was Fu Shihan.

Su Wanxin didn’t want greater hope to lead to greater disappointnt, so she gradually began to intentionally ignore such statents and not take them to heart.

How should she ask? She couldn’t just directly say, "Do you like ?"

What if he didn’t? Wouldn’t that make her seem narcissistic?

"To like a desperately ill person to death, are you sure you don’t need to go to the hospital for an eye check?"

"You don’t need to do anything; it’s just that things won’t get better without getting worse first. You will feel even weaker for a while, so I will need to be with you. Whether it’s in the country or abroad, I’ll need to stay close."
