Fu Shihan snapped back to reality and quickly walked towards Mu Suyu’s room.
He pushed open the door, and seeing the equally clean and tidy room, his hanging heart plumted to the bottom, his eyes instantly tinged with red.
He turned and went downstairs, took out his phone to dial Su Wanxin’s number, but it didn’t go through.
The feeling of panic overwheld him, and Fu Shihan rapidly scrolled through the contact list, found Mu Suyu’s number, and called again, only to be rejected.
He leaned against the door fra, gripping his phone tightly, containing the urge to smash it. After a mont of contemplation, he called Chen Lei.
"Has Su Wanxin been to the company these past few days?"
As soon as the call connected, he asked irritably. Chen Lei was caught off guard, answering with a bewildered face, "She’s been coming to work regularly, what’s wrong?"
"She was there today? Is she still at the company?"
"She’s not here right now, she went out to et a client in the afternoon, seems like she went directly ho after that. President Fu, what’s the matter?"
She was still in Di City.
Fu Shihan slowly let out a breath, steadying his emotions.
"Call her and tell her that there’s an urgent matter at the company and she needs to co back imdiately."
Chen Lei: "...Okay."
Sensing that sothing was off with Fu Shihan’s tone, Chen Lei didn’t dare to delay. He hung up and imdiately called Su Wanxin.
The old slicker, skillful in lying, didn’t ntion Fu Shihan’s na and with just a few words, deceived Su Wanxin into turning back from her route to the hot pot restaurant, rushing towards the company.
Chen Lei said that the company’s system had been hacked, and so data might be leaked.
This was definitely not a minor issue; Su Wanxin was so scared that she ran to the company with her heart in her mouth, breathless as she pushed open the door of Chen Lei’s office, only to see the familiar figure on the sofa.
Fu Shihan, who had been waiting impatiently for a long ti, felt his unease disappear the mont he saw her, replaced by an indescribable fury.
He got up with a cold smirk, t Su Wanxin’s gaze, and asked word by word, "Did you block ?"
Chen Lei’s call got through, but not his – was this the thanks he got for leaving for ten days?
Su Wanxin was slightly startled upon seeing him.
It had been a long ti since she had seen him in casual clothes, without the attire of a suit and leather shoes, his livid, stomping figure was just like it was years ago.
After calming down with a shower at ho, Fu Shihan only had ti to throw on a hoodie and jeans before running over; his hair was still half-dry.
Even Chen Lei jumped when he saw him, taking several glances to confirm his identity since it was the first ti he didn’t see him in a suit.
Su Wanxin diverted her gaze to look at Chen Lei, who was sitting at his desk looking restless and asked with mockery, "This is the urgent matter you talked about, the system being hacked?"
"This, isn’t this urgent?" Chen Lei glanced awkwardly at Fu Shihan. "The company’s system was indeed hacked."
Right now, wasn’t Fu Shihan just like an invasive species to their company?
Su Wanxin laughed at his answer, knowing he was also coerced, and didn’t argue with him, simply turning to walk away.
She didn’t even want to say a word to Fu Shihan, but seeing this, Fu Shihan, furious, quickly caught up with her, directly pulled her into her office, closed the door, and questioned her.
"What did I do to upset you again? Why are you throwing a tantrum?"
"It hurts, let go."
Su Wanxin looked down at her wrist, which he was holding, and spoke in a calm voice. Fu Shihan subconsciously released his hand, and Su Wanxin took a step back, widening the distance between them.
"Do you even realize how exhausting it is to be by your side?"
She looked at him, her eyes filled with disgust.
