The photo was taken many years ago when Wanxin was still in high school, and Shihan was studying abroad.

Then, on the year of Wanxin’s birthday, Shihan, who was supposed to be abroad, suddenly appeared, both surprising and delighting Wanxin.

This photo was taken that day.

In the photo, Wanxin is sitting on Shihan’s lap, nestled in his arms, smiling like a happy fool. Standing around them are familiar faces, including Shi Yi, Yifan, and Lu Ci’s group.

Shen Xiaochen had forced her way into the photo, standing on the far edge of the group, far from the center where Wanxin and Shihan were, looking like a micro-business owner sneaking into a circle of celebrities and tycoons to take a photo. If you didn’t look closely, you might almost overlook her.

This was the only photo she had with Wanxin, and it was one she absolutely wouldn’t let others see.

...

Wanxin was made unhappy by a phone call from Shen Xiaochen and vented by furiously working from ho to earn money. When Shihan ca ho in the evening, she told him the person’s na and added—

"I checked, the person is already dead."

Shihan’s expression was as cold and casual as ever, as if he had already known the outco and was not at all surprised.

"How did you find out without going outside?"

Taking off his coat, he lazily sat on the sofa, casually rolling up his shirt sleeves, clearly shifting his focus.

There were people around Wanxin that he hadn’t t before, and they were very close to her. For Shihan, this was more important than the dead person’s na.

Wanxin t his gaze with a look that said "no matter how you ask, I won’t tell," her attitude anything but proper, making Shihan feel she needed to be taken in hand.

But Wanxin, after surviving yet another brush with death, seed to have grown even braver.

"What’s it to you?" she asked lazily, "Busy managing thousands of affairs, President Fu covers everything, huh? Haven’t you heard that money talks? I paid soone to find out, is that a problem?"

"Maintain this fearlessness, I hope you can keep it up," Shihan said coolly, making Wanxin shrink her neck and hold back a bit.

"I’m going back to the office to work tomorrow, I’m getting sick of staying at ho," she lowered her voice and changed the topic. "I promised Alex triple digit profits, there’s still more than a month left, can’t keep slacking off."

So many people were waiting to see her fail, as the saying goes, it’s not about the bread but the spirit, she definitely couldn’t let those hecklers win.

Shihan thought for a mont and didn’t stop her. He knew that even if she stayed ho, she wouldn’t just lie in bed and rest. So whether at the office or at ho, there wasn’t much difference. Also, the injury on her leg was almost healed, she needed so proper exercise.

Thus, at exactly nine o’clock the next morning, Wanxin showed up at the office, startling those colleagues who were just rolling up their sleeves to start working, making them hold their breath.

Although not everyone had gone to Shen Xiaochen’s birthday, what happened at the party was known by all. Recently, in the entire financial circle, Wanxin was the center of discussion.

Wanxin walked straight to her seat without looking sideways, then glanced left and right at her colleagues who were staring intensely at her, and jokingly teased with a light laugh—

"What’s the matter, I went to film a martial arts movie, and you all don’t recognize anymore?"
