Lin Rui shook his head imdiately upon hearing her, not wanting to stir up trouble for himself without reason.
Su Wanxin chuckled mockingly, leaned back in her chair, and sighed leisurely, "Smart people know that, for businessn, there are no eternal enemies, only eternal interests."
The petty squabbles between her and Fu Shihan before, occasionally brought up for laughs, were nothing more than that.
Yet soone keeps bringing it up as an issue, which is just... a bit too stupid.
"Lu Ci and Su Yao’s engagent party is next week, and the relationship between the Lu Family and the Fu Family is well-known.
At such a critical mont, soone is still tirelessly spreading rumors about and Fu Shihan. What does that tell you, do you know?"
Lin Rui listened to her words in a bit of a daze and shook his head blankly.
"It ans the person stirring things up is either genuinely stupid or has more tricks up their sleeve to sow discord. Or... they’re just a helper."
Su Wanxin smiled aningfully and went back to her computer work.
"Just keep enjoying the gossip; there’s no need to get angry over these things. Whoever owes , I’ve noted it down."
Lin Rui opened his mouth, almost blurting out the words on the tip of his tongue.
No wonder she’s Brother Han’s top student; holding grudges even gets written down... pretty ruthless.
Lin Rui silently lowered his head and continued scrolling through his Weibo.
After finishing her work, Su Wanxin left with the materials.
The investigation into Vedis Royal Bank had been ongoing for quite a while, and by now, they’d gathered so relevant evidence.
However, every sector has its rules.
With Hua Country’s policy to introduce foreign financial entities just starting, and Vedis being a major bank entering the Imperial Capital, if Su Wanxin suddenly threw out the evidence, it would slap Vedis in the face and also embarrass the higher-ups.
So, in this case, she very much needed to learn from Fu Shihan and be a law-abiding, exemplary citizen. First, she needed to take the evidence to the leadership and lodge a small complaint.
Su Wanxin arrived at the location at half-past two, and the eting ran until after six. The relevant departnts took what Su Wanxin said very seriously.
After a hectic few hours, it was her first ti sitting together with the political bigwigs, having drunk this much plain water.
Finally done, she got into the car, kneading her sowhat stiff face from smiling, slumped in her seat, not wanting to say a word.
Lin Rui started the car heading ho, glanced at her exhausted appearance, and couldn’t help but suggest, "How about letting Brother Han co next ti? He’s the best at dealing with these bigwigs."
"No need, I’ll have to learn to handle it myself sooner or later."
Su Wanxin seed open-minded, determined not to cling to Fu Shihan’s coattails this ti.
The car moved slowly, and after a dozen minutes, Su Wanxin had fallen soundly asleep.
Upon reaching ho, Lin Rui woke her up. She got out of the car, looked up at the electric fence on the high wall, and frowned, asking, "What did you find out about the people from last night?"
"Ah... just the usual, paid to do the job."
"Money can make ghosts run errands. There’s a chance those used as pawns might keep coming one wave after another."
Su Wanxin sighed, went inside, and sat on the sofa waiting for Su Yao and the others to co back for dinner.
But before Su Yao returned, Su Bai called first.
Seeing the na displayed on the phone, Su Wanxin picked up with mixed feelings and heard Su Bai ask, "Mom said you were looking for . What’s up?"
"Where are you?"
"Heading to Hua Country the day after tomorrow, will you pick up?"
