Chapter 268: She first had a secret crush on _3
“et, et!”
Wen Zhi raced over, “I know her, she’s my friend. Has she already arrived?”
Aunt Xu nodded, “Yes, she’s in the courtyard, and Mr. Nian too.”
“Damn it!” Wen Zhi clenched her fists and hurried outside.
…
In the vast courtyard,
ng Fan, who had just arrived a while ago, was chatting with Nian Xun.
“Zhizhi has been living here ever since she ca to Laihai City?” ng Fan asked politely.
Nian Xun nodded, “Yes.”
ng Fan looked around, “This place has quite a nice environnt.”
Nian Xun’s scrutinizing gaze lingered back and forth on ng Fan, “Gu Rang and the others really never ntioned to you that Wen Zhi is here?”
“Nope.” ng Fan shook her head, and imdiately with a face of disgust, “Don’t ntion that guy to , just hearing about him makes my blood boil. Wen Zhi disappeared for months, and I was worried sick every single day, unable to sleep at night.”
After quietly listening, Nian Xun ntioned, “I can allow you to see her, but I can also prevent you from seeing her.”
ng Fan’s face turned cold in an instant, “Mr. Nian, what do you an?”
“Exactly as it sounds, isn’t it clear?” Nian Xun’s smile didn’t reach his eyes, “Rember, Miss ng, when you see Wen Zhi, don’t ntion her past to her, including her parents, at least for now.”
ng Fan imdiately asked, “Why, you need to give
a valid reason, don’t you?”
Nian Xun: “She is currently a patient and will soon undergo another treatnt. I do not wish for any complications before that. As her good friend, Miss ng, for her complete recovery, I trust you can understand.”
After hearing Nian Xun’s words, ng Fan’s brows furrowed tightly.
After a long mont, she still nodded, “Alright, I understand.”
Nian Xun withdrew his scrutinizing gaze, his face showing satisfaction.
He heard the hurried footsteps and knew Wen Zhi was coming out, so he stepped aside.
Upon seeing Wen Zhi, ng Fan, unable to contain her excitent and forgetting about propriety for a mont, ran straight towards Wen Zhi.
The two embraced.
Nian Xun stood by with crossed arms, not intending to interrupt them, but also without any intention of leaving.
Seeing Nian Xun still nearby, Wen Zhi said, “Although you did it on purpose, I still want to say thank you.”
Nian Xun raised his eyebrows.
Wen Zhi: “Thank you for keeping your word and letting
et with ng Fan.”
Nian Xun tapped his chin, “I’ll grudgingly accept your sincerity.”
Wen Zhi left with ng Fan, disappearing from his view.
Inside the bedroom,
“ng Fan, take a seat,” Wen Zhi pointed to the sofa near the foot of the bed.
ng Fan sat down uncomfortably, her legs together, and her sitting posture was very proper. Perhaps influenced by Nian Xun’s words, she felt a heaviness in her heart.
She looked up at Wen Zhi, “Have you been living here these past few months?”
Wen Zhi nodded, “Yes.”
ng Fan asked again, “Is it… with Mr. Nian that you’re living here?”
Wen Zhi shook her head, “No, not like that.”
She moved around to sit opposite ng Fan, “Nian Xun doesn’t live here. He’s very busy and only cos to see
occasionally.”
ng Fan sighed in relief, “That’s good, very good.”
Relieved that things were not as she had thought, ng Fan was more at ease, and her nerves eased, “I thought you broke up with Cousin and got together with this Mr. Nian.”
Wen Zhi puzzled, “Cousin?”
ng Fan, realizing Wen Zhi’s mory loss, asked, “You know about Shang Hexing, right?”
Wen Zhi nodded.
ng Fan felt more assured, “My cousin is Shang Hexing.”
Wen Zhi was shocked, “I know Shang Hexing through you?”
That question stunned ng Fan for a couple of seconds, but she quickly responded, “No, you and my cousin fell in love naturally.”
Wen Zhi got up and sat next to ng Fan, “Was it him chasing , or
chasing him?”
ng Fan thought carefully before replying, “I don’t know who chased whom first, but I do know you had a crush on my cousin first.”
Wen Zhi’s mouth hung open, “Go on, tell
about it.”
ng Fan hesitated and stamred, unwilling to speak.
Wen Zhi leaned in to peer into ng Fan’s eyes, and ng Fan felt she couldn’t keep hiding it, so she preemptively said, “You can’t get mad at
for this once you regain your mory.”
After Wen Zhi assured she wouldn’t be angry, ng Fan dared to continue, “I never knew about it before; you kept it so well hidden. Since your disappearance, I couldn’t find you and went to the Wen Family’s place several tis, until by chance… I swear it was just by chance, I saw a passage in your diary.”
Wen Zhi listened as if it were soone else’s story, asking eagerly, “What was it?”
“The day he stood on stage to speak, my heart raced. Even though it was such a formal occasion, I couldn’t help but have wicked thoughts of stripping off his clothes.”
Without naming nas, Wen Zhi still blushed deeply upon hearing the passage.
But because no na was ntioned, Wen Zhi, red-faced with doubt, questioned, “How do you know this passage was about Shang Hexing? What if it was about soone else?”
ng Fan scoffed, “Because you had a photo tucked into that page, exactly of you secretly taking pictures of my cousin from below the stage.”
