??Chapter 252: Bullied

Chapter 252: Bullied

Wen Zhi got lost by accident.

The reason was that she had overheard a waiter saying there was a gourt reality show being fild on one of the floors. Curious, she went there alone before she had a chance to tell Nian Xun.

After watching the filming and finding it boring, she wanted to return but ended up getting lost.

Now she had no idea where she was, and she hadn’t even seen a waiter to ask for directions.

She guessed that this floor must be reserved for guests of high status, which might be why she didn’t see waiters walking around at leisure.

After wandering in circles, she turned a corner and saw a door opening not far in front of her.

Wen Zhi was delighted and hurried to catch up with the person exiting, calling out, “Excuse , could you tell …”

The man turned at the sound of her voice, and his eyes revealed an unmistakable flash of amazent when he saw the woman stopping him.

He stood waiting for her to approach and asked with a smile, “What do you want to ask?”

When Wen Zhi got closer and saw the man’s smile, she had been worried he would ignore her. Fortunately, he seed like a very gentle person, so she felt reassured to ask, “Could you please tell

how to get to the Dragon Phoenix Hall?”

The man asked, “Is this your first ti here?”

Wen Zhi nodded, “I ca here with a friend, he’s waiting for

in the Dragon Phoenix Hall, but now I can’t find it.”

The corners of the man’s mouth curved into a deeper smile, his gaze unabashed, “I naturally know the way to the Dragon Phoenix Hall, as that’s exactly where I’m headed.

“That’s perfect!” Wen Zhi’s expression brightened, “May I go with you?”

The man nodded, “Of course, it’s just a matter of leading the way.”

Wen Zhi quickly expressed her thanks with a nod, “Thank you.”

The man shook his head, indicating no thanks were necessary, and extended an invitation to Wen Zhi, “Would you like to co in and sit for a bit?”

Wen Zhi was puzzled, not understanding what the man ant.

Weren’t they supposed to go straight to the Dragon Phoenix Hall? Why did he suggest going inside to sit?

The man lifted his hand to adjust his cuff, revealing a peacock stone watch that looked quite valuable at a glance.

He was also quite young, probably no more than twenty-six or twenty-seven, with a gentle smile at the corner of his lips, but the flirtatious air in the depths of his eyes was in no way concealed.

He looked at Wen Zhi with confident tone, “Weren’t you just trying to chat

up?”

Wen Zhi: ?

The man continued, “To be honest, I’ve seen this kind of move too many tis.”

The reason he had played along was that Wen Zhi was beautiful enough to catch his interest, and he was willing to take the bait and play along.

“I’m sorry, sir, but you may have misunderstood ,” Wen Zhi realized that the man had mistaken her for that kind of woman and quickly clarified, “I really need to go to the Dragon Phoenix Hall, my friend is waiting for

there.”

The man asked, “If you’re really looking for your friend, wouldn’t you contact each other by phone?”

Wen Zhi was stunned.

The man laughed softly, “Don’t tell

you’re going to say you didn’t bring your phone?”

Wen Zhi pursed her lips in silence.

Indeed, she had not brought her phone.

But it wasn’t that she had deliberately left it behind; she simply wasn’t habituated to using a phone. Even though Nian Xun had given her a phone today, she forgot it on the table as soon as she turned around; carrying a phone was simply not on her mind.

“Tsk, such clumsy pretense, but I quite like it,” the man pushed the room door open further after flicking it open with his fingertip.

He looked at Wen Zhi, “No need to keep up the act, I’ll go along with it. Let’s go in and talk.”

Wen Zhi wanted to curse him for being crazy, but rembering what Nian Xun had said about behaving with decorum when out and about and not to embarrass him, she suppressed the urge to swear at the man.

She took a deep breath and bestowed a smile on the man, “No, thanks, I have social anxiety, I’m not good at chatting.”

The man’s smile faded from his face, his expression cooling, “I gave you face, and now you’re pushing your luck, aren’t you?”

Wen Zhi got angry, “I only asked you for directions, I didn’t say anything suggestive – you’re the one who’s misinterpreted things, and it’s you who’s being presumptuous. You really have no manners!”

Having said that, Wen Zhi brushed past the man.

The man, annoyed, grabbed Wen Zhi’s wrist, “You dare insult ?”

Wen Zhi faced the danger unafraid, “Wasn’t it you who insulted

first?”

The man cursed sothing, then dragged Wen Zhi towards the room, “Playing hard to get with ? Fine, since you’re pretty, I’ll play along.”

He was strong and pulled Wen Zhi all the way to the door.

“Damn you, you foul man! Such bad luck asking you for directions!” Wen Zhi, seeing that struggling was useless, bit down on the man’s wrist.

The man let go in pain, and Wen Zhi took the opportunity of his loosened grip to run away.

“Damn her, biting , the bitch! Wait till I catch you – you’ll regret it!” The man didn’t chase after her but instead called the manager directly, instructing him to use the surveillance to catch that woman and bring her to him.

By this ti, Wen Zhi had already run quite far and finally saw the elevator.

Her face lit up with joy, and she rushed towards the elevator. Just as the doors opened, Wen Zhi didn’t notice soone coming out and bumped right into Shang Hexing.

Shang Hexing didn’t see Wen Zhi’s face clearly but still reached out coldly to steady her. Before Wen Zhi could balance herself, Chen Jinhai’s voice ca from nearby in surprise,

“Miss Wen?!”

Shang Hexing was startled and looked down.

By then, Wen Zhi had steadied herself. She quickly apologized a few tis and upon hearing the address, she looked up in surprise, “You know ?”

Chen Jinhai was at a loss for words. What? Had he made a mistake? He had accidentally bumped into Mr. Shang – could it be he had not recognized the Miss Wen he hadn’t seen for months?

Wen Zhi looked at the variety of expressions on Chen Jinhai’s face, rather baffled, “You’re not speaking – did you recognize the wrong person?”

Chen Jinhai subconsciously glanced at Shang Hexing.

At that mont, although Shang Hexing’s face showed little expression, his gaze remained on Wen Zhi until she felt his look and turned to et his eyes.

Their eyes t, and Wen Zhi paused for an instant.

Such a handso face, and at first glance of remarkable bearing.

But this man felt so familiar to her. She seed to have seen his face sowhere before but couldn’t quite rember where…

The elevator doors were about to close.

Chen Jinhai hurriedly spoke up, “Mr. Shang, Miss Wen, let’s step out of the elevator first.”

“No, no, no, I’m not getting out. You guys go ahead,” Wen Zhi said as she stepped aside to clear the way.

However, the next second, Wen Zhi felt her wrist being grabbed. She looked up to find that it was that man’s hand pulling her out of the elevator without a word.

“Let

go! Let go!”

“I said I’m not getting out of the elevator. I’m going sowhere else. Don’t you understand? Please let

go!”

Seeing that he still didn’t release her, Wen Zhi asked, “You don’t think I’m that kind of woman too, do you? Why are all the n on this floor so full of themselves!”

After she spoke,

Shang Hexing suddenly stopped, turned back to look at her, “Who was bullying you just now?”

Wen Zhi was intimidated by his presence, but she still stubbornly said, “You n are all the sa – disgusting!”

Shang Hexing’s arm tightened slightly, pulling Wen Zhi closer and asking with knitted brows, “Then answer this first, why are you here?”

Wen Zhi froze, not answering.

Ever since she had woken up from the treatnt, she had never had face-to-face contact with any man like this. When she was with Nian Xun, the closest they got was holding hands, which was nothing like the current situation.

At this mont, Wen Zhi looked at the face before her, which seed so familiar, and her heartbeat uncontrollably quickened.
