Chapter 216: completely obedient

At these words, Wen Yiwan’s face drastically changed.

She pointed at Wen Zhi with fierce words, “You dare!”

“What don’t I dare?” Wen Zhi raised her neck, emphasizing each word powerfully, “You dare to ss around outside, why can’t I tell my dad?”

“You—!” Wen Yiwan was furiously frustrated.

Wen Zhi didn’t even blink an eye, “What, you want to teach

a lesson again? Go ahead and hit . Since I returned yesterday, you’ve been lashing out at , and about this morning when you ca ho disheveled…”

At this mont, each word Wen Zhi said made Wen Yiwan’s face look uglier.

Finally, Wen Zhi pointed to her head, “It’s all recorded here. If you’re not afraid of

telling my dad, go ahead and hit .”

These words pressed down hard on Wen Yiwan’s temper.

“Don’t tell your dad, I will reflect on myself,” Wen Yiwan clenched her back teeth, a blue vein throbbing on her forehead.

Wen Zhi smiled lightly and indifferently, “Then co and wipe my face, tI calm down, then I might consider it.”

Wen Yiwan’s face twitched nearly to the point of contorting as she restrained herself, “Still considering?”

Wen Zhi: “What else? You are the one who hits and scolds .”

Wen Yiwan, with a cold face, “Wen Zhi, stop acting in front of .”

Wen Zhi urged, “Hurry up.”

Eventually, Wen Yiwan dared not provoke Wen Zhi further. She took a deep breath, stood up, grabbed a tissue from the table, and walked over to Wen Zhi.

She bent down and forced a pleasing smile on her face, “I was wrong yesterday, and just now too, I was too impulsive, don’t be angry.”

While apologizing, Wen Yiwan didn’t stop her hands, ticulously wiping the milk from Wen Zhi’s face, and even from her hair.

Wen Zhi closed her eyes, pretending not to hear.

That’s why the milk was right in front of her, and she didn’t throw it back.

Because she knew retaliating every ti still wouldn’t prevent a next ti.

Only by suppressing Wen Yiwan could life return to tranquility in the Wen Family, otherwise it would be constant overt and covert fighting every day.

At the mont, Wen Yiwan was wiping her face very carefully, but milk, not being plain water, couldn’t be completely wiped off from the hair and clothes and had to be washed.

As she wiped further, Wen Yiwan noticed deep color marks on Wen Zhi’s collar and felt even more guilty.

She had bullied Wen Zhi before, but Wen Zhi never told Mu Yanzhou because Wen Zhi disdained, she looked down on Mu Yanzhou for marrying her and despised her even more and so she bullied Wen Zhi even more severely.

This ti, it was the first ti Wen Zhi had spoken of tattling.

How could Wen Yiwan not panic?

She didn’t want Yanzhou to know.

“Zhizhi…” Wen Yiwan set down the tissue, calling out Wen Zhi’s nickna affectionately, “The milk in your hair can’t be wiped off, it needs washing, and your clothes are dirty, shall I buy you new ones?”

Wen Zhi opened her eyes, turning to look at the ingratiating Wen Yiwan and accepted happily, “Okay.”

Wen Yiwan imdiately asked, “Which brand of clothes do you like? I’m a mber of many international brands, just tell

which you like, and I’ll buy them right away. Oh right, do you need a bag? And shoes, you don’t seem to like high heels much, so I’ll buy flats…”

Wen Zhi listened quietly as Wen Yiwan kept talking by her ear.

As dominant as Wen Yiwan was earlier, she now appeared utterly servile, her face full of ingratiating looks, contrasting starkly with the fierce person from last night, almost like two different people.

“Is it worth it?” At that mont, Wen Zhi suddenly asked.

Wen Yiwan wasn’t quick to understand and still questioned, “Worth what?”

Wen Zhi lifted her head to look at Wen Yiwan, questioning her word by word, “All the effort to marry my dad, causing grandmother to live alone far away, and grandfather unrestful in his grave, my mother died tragically, this family not being a real family, is it worth it?”

Wen Yiwan’s face rarely showed a trace of bewildernt.

Ever since Wen Yinxi had died, Wen Zhi had never spoken of these matters in front of Wen Yiwan. Her eyes held only hatred for Wen Yiwan, both loathing each other, having once thrown the Wen Family into utter chaos. Wen Zhi’s grandmother had consequently moved far away, never to return, and forbade anyone from disturbing her.

“What’s the point of saying this now?” Wen Yiwan snapped back to reality, her tone dismissive, even thinking Wen Zhi was insane as she looked at her.

Wen Zhi said nothing else, having lost her appetite for the breakfast before her, and directly got up from the table.

Wen Yiwan grabbed her, “You just promised .”

Wen Zhi, “What?”

Wen Yiwan reminded, “Not to snitch to Yanzhou.”

Wen Zhi brushed aside a strand of hair from her cheek that had been dampened with milk, “Instead of being so guilty, it would be better to restrain your own behavior.”

Wen Yiwan’s face tightened.

Wen Zhi simply left with, “I’ll see how you behave.”

After speaking, Wen Zhi pulled her hand away from Wen Yiwan and went upstairs to shower and change.

After showering and changing, Wen Zhi went out to the courtyard to soak up the sun.

The roses in the eastern garden were blooming beautifully, each competing with the next in splendor.

However, that place was originally filled with roses, which Wen Yinxi was quite fond of. Thus, Mu Yanzhou had planted roses throughout the courtyard himself. After Wen Yinxi passed away, Wen Yiwan imdiately had the roses dug up and replaced with roses.

Wen Zhi had argued before, but to no avail.

This ti, she summoned a servant, “Chop down all those roses.”

The servant was alard, “Chop, chop them down?”

Wen Zhi nodded, “Yes, chop them all down.”

The servant hesitated, “But these roses are blooming so well, and the lady enjoys them every day…”

“I don’t like them; chop them down,” Wen Zhi interrupted the servant abruptly, her tone brooking no argunt.

The servant imdiately complied, “Yes, yes, I’ll get right on it.”

Following that, Wen Zhi called another servant to rearrange a chair in the courtyard. She sat in the chair, quietly watching the servant chop down all the roses.

Soon, Wen Yiwan rushed over to the courtyard upon hearing the news.

When she saw that swath of roses chopped down, she trembled with rage, “Wen Zhi, don’t get too arrogant!”

Wen Zhi, “I’ve said, now that I’m back, I plan to stay for good. All things that displease my eyes, I will reconstruct until they satisfy .”

Wen Yiwan approached Wen Zhi, “I heard you were staying with the Shang family, using all your cunning to seduce Shang Hexing. What, didn’t he arrange a place for your trysts? Or did he dump you?”

How harsh.

Wen Zhi was about to retort when at that mont, a servant hurried over, “Miss, a car has co outside; it’s for you.”

Wen Zhi straightened and asked, “Who?”

The servant replied, “He said his last na is Shang.”

“I know.” Wen Zhi got up and walked outside.

Wen Yiwan hadn’t expected such a coincidence, speaking of that man right as he arrived.

Nevermind, she needed to keep her distance.

The support Wen Zhi had found, Sher rely dared to verbally tease, as in reality, she really couldn’t afford to provoke him.

As Wen Yiwan was about to return to her room, she couldn’t contain her curiosity and stole a glance when she heard the conversation.
