Chapter 140: Perilous situation
“I don’t need this anymore!” Just thinking about that scene made her extrely resistant and rejecting.
Shang Hexing was about to twist open the cap, but seeing Wen Zhi’s strong resistance, he coaxed her, “I’ll apply it quickly.”
“No.” Wen Zhi shook her head.
Shang Hexing couldn’t help but chuckle, “Without it, inflammation can’t be reduced.”
Wen Zhi, sowhat stifled, turned her head away, “It’s all your fault.”
“Yes, indeed my fault.” He placed the ointnt in her palm, “My fault for being too forceful.”
“…”
Her face burning, she snatched the ointnt from his hand, “I’ll do it myself, you go out.”
“Can you handle it yourself?” Shang Hexing asked, concerned.
“I certainly can,” she said.
Compared to Wen Zhi’s shyness, Shang Hexing appeared more composed, “Wen Zhi, I can personally do anything for you, you don’t have to feel any psychological burden or worry, because we are now in the closest relationship.”
Wen Zhi could certainly feel his sincerity.
But she still felt very uncomfortable, she thought even if he coaxed and deceived, she had to drive him out, could not keep him here.
Heaven knows his eyes were fixed on her just before.
In the end, Wen Zhi got her wish and sent Shang Hexing away; he took his clothes and went back to the suite across to change, while she applied the dicine herself. It still hurt quite a bit, and she didn’t know how many days it would take to recover, after all, this was their first ti in reality.
But oddly enough.
She could experience the pain of childbirth in dreams.
Why was there no pain the first ti in dreams?
It made her think there was no difference, but in reality…
After applying the dicine and changing her clothes, Wen Zhi saw Shang Hexing’s phone on the bedside, rembered that ng Fan had gone to et Shen Zhiyao alone last night, and hurriedly picked up the phone to call ng Fan.
The first call, ng Fan didn’t pick up.
Wen Zhi’s heart was in her throat, she imdiately redialed a second ti, thankfully, this ti, it only rang twice before ng Fan answered.
“Hello, ng Fan?” Wen Zhi’s voice was very anxious.
On the phone ca ng Fan’s languid voice, “Zhizhi, I didn’t sleep all night, I’m catching up on sleep.”
Wen Zhi let out a sigh of relief, “So you were sleeping, I thought sothing happened to you.”
ng Fan dropped a bombshell, “Sothing did happen last night.”
The sigh that Wen Zhi had just let out rushed back up, disregarding her physical discomfort, she stretched her waist, grasped her phone tightly, and pressed, “What happened last night?”
At first, ng Fan spoke calmly, “Last night I went to Xiangxieli, and even saw Rong Huaishen and Shen Zhiyao entering and leaving together, and let
tell you, Rong looked pretty good ntally.”
“Then what?” asked Wen Zhi.
Then…
ng Fan, who had been calm, was no longer calm, not hysterical, but frightened, “It wasn’t very late when Rong Huaishen took Shen Zhiyao out, I planned to follow them and sneak photos of them together. I thought I was very careful not to expose my tracks, but they found
out anyway. You know, being found and followed is quite embarrassing, so I planned on heading back to the hotel, but I didn’t expect to be dragged into a secluded spot by a masked man ready to assault …”
Wen Zhi’s breath tightened, “ng Fan!”
“It’s okay, I was lucky, I found rescue in a desperate situation,” ng Fan’s voice trembled sowhat.
“ng Fan, where are you? I’m coming right now.” Wen Zhi was dying of worry, now utterly regretting not insisting on going with ng Fan last night.
ng Fan’s listless voice said, “Zhizhi, I’m staying at the Peninsula Hotel, in 9012.”
In the sa hotel!
That’s great!
“ng Fan, wait for , I’m coming right now.”
Wen Zhi put down the phone, didn’t wait for Shang Hexing to return, nor did she have ti to leave a ssage telling him, she imdiately put on her shoes and rushed out in a panic.
Within five minutes, Wen Zhi appeared outside room 9012, she raised her hand just about to knock on the door, when a cautious voice ca from behind, “Who are you?”
Wen Zhi, startled, stepped back sharply, almost falling as she was already not feeling too comfortable, fortunately, she steadied herself against the door.
Looking at the stranger in front of her wearing a duckbill cap, unusually handso, Wen Zhi felt sowhat scared, recalling what ng Fan had gone through last night, her heart was raised.
With a frightened tone, she asked, “And who are you?”
The man did not reveal his identity but asked Wen Zhi, “Who are you looking for in 9012?”
Wen Zhi certainly wouldn’t say who she was looking for because she was afraid the man in front of her was looking for ng Fan. If she admitted ng Fan was inside, it could bring danger to him.
“I went to the wrong room,” Wen Zhi took a deep breath, stabilizing her composure, “Excuse .”
The man stepped aside to let her pass.
Wen Zhi pretended to leave, then looked back while walking to see the man’s reaction. She noticed the man loitering at the door, as if confirming whether there was anyone inside 9012.
He indeed harbored ill intentions.
Wen Zhi reached for her phone only to grasp at air, then rembered she had freed her hands to put on her shoes and had forgotten to take her phone with her.
It’s over…
How could she be so careless!
Knock, knock, knock—
Suddenly, a knocking sound ca. Wen Zhi was startled and turned around to see the man knocking on the door of 9012.
In her heart, Wen Zhi silently pleaded: ng Fan, don’t open the door, don’t open the door…
But the next second, the door opened.
“ng Fan!” Wen Zhi rushed over without a second thought.
Seeing her action, the man instinctively prepared to block Wen Zhi but was pushed away by ng Fan: “Don’t scare my baby.”
The man was pushed aside, montarily bewildered, then looked at the girl who had run over and suddenly understood.
After rushing over, Wen Zhi stood in front of ng Fan, warily facing the stranger in the baseball cap, “I’m telling you, I’ve already called the police. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll leave quickly, or you’ll regret it!”
The man, on hearing Wen Zhi ntion the police, was initially stunned, then scoffed, “Misunderstanding.”
Wen Zhi looked confused.
Behind her, ng Fan guessed why Wen Zhi might have shown such a reaction; she probably mistook Jian Yingqing for a villain.
“Zhizhi, he’s not a bad guy. His na is Jian Yingqing, he’s a… friend of mine,” ng Fan briefly explained Jian Yingqing’s identity and pulled Wen Zhi into the room.
Jian Yingqing wanted to follow them inside, but ng Fan casually shut the door, leaving Jian Yingqing outside.
Jian Yingqing felt his nose and muttered indignantly, “And to think, last night it was
who played the hero to save the beauty. So gratitude.”
However, his voice was already blocked outside the door.
Inside the room.
Wen Zhi questioned, “Who is Jian Yingqing?”
ng Fan stamred, “I… bought him out at the White Horse Club.”
Wen Zhi was astonished, “You paid for his freedom?”
“Yeah.” ng Fan always felt she was at a loss, but now thought it settled, “He saved
last night. I didn’t expect him to have been following , but fortunately, he was there. Otherwise…”
Otherwise, last night would have been very dangerous.
Hearing ng Fan say this, Wen Zhi’s prejudice against the man outside lessened sowhat.
Just then, she saw bruises on ng Fan’s neck and imdiately reached out to inspect them closer. ng Fan blocked her, her tone gentle, “It’s okay, I’ve already applied dicine, it will heal soon.”
“You think you’re a robot that can self-repair?” Wen Zhi was deeply distressed, “Let
look.”
ng Fan could not resist Wen Zhi and tilted her neck to let Wen Zhi see the bruises.
Wen Zhi asked, “Did that person do this?”
“Yeah.” ng Fan nodded.
Wen Zhi imdiately asked, “Did you see what that person looked like, do you still rember?”
“I rember.” ng Fan’s expression turned cold, “I pulled down his mask and saw his face.”
Wen Zhi frowned, “You’ve seen him before?”
ng Fan t Wen Zhi’s gaze, “The man Shen Zhiyao was with in the photo you sent .”
Wen Zhi took a sharp breath.
ng Fan continued, “I suspect Shen Zhiyao knew I had co to Harbor City, so she decided to take a drastic asure and have that man kill
in Harbor City. That way, she could smoothly ascend to beco Mrs. Rong.”
She really couldn’t wait.
