??Chapter 138: Her Hint

Chapter 138: Her Hint

The elevator ascended silently, floor by floor.

Shang Hexing answered her, “It depends on grandma’s health condition. When the ti cos, we naturally will tell him.”

Wen Zhi thought for a mont, “I think after being married for sixty or seventy years, they must already have telepathy. When the mont really cos, they might not need to be told by you. Both parties would probably sense it beforehand.”

Shang Hexing glanced over, “So taphysical?”

Wen Zhi nodded, “I believe in it.”

Shang Hexing then said, “Then I’ll try to believe it too.”

Wen Zhi was startled, then quickly shook her head, “No, you can’t believe in this, you’re a public servant.”

Shang Hexing couldn’t help but grin, his smile as refreshing as a spring breeze, making Wen Zhi sowhat srized.

But she didn’t know why he suddenly seed so happy.

At the sa ti, the elevator reached the floor.

Shang Hexing led Wen Zhi out of the elevator.

Wen Zhi asked him why he was laughing, to which he responded, “Thank you for your reminder.”

Wen Zhi grew even more puzzled, “What’s so funny about my reminder?”

Shang Hexing’s words were very straightforward, “Because you’re cute. I didn’t expect your first reaction to be that.”

“…”

Public servants indeed must not succumb to religious beliefs and must be resolute materialists.

Shang Hexing naturally kept this in mind, but the mont Wen Zhi specially reminded him, it felt unexpectedly pleasant, like a typically slothful person suddenly being managed.

As for Wen Zhi, suddenly being praised, and with her thin skin, her cheeks instantly turned crimson.

“Oh, stop laughing,” she poked him.

“Okay, I won’t laugh,” Shang Hexing’s expression sobered up a bit, “We were just talking about my grandfather, and actually, my mother is very much like him. I an their personalities, stubbornly identical.”

Suddenly hearing Shang Hexing ntion his mother, Wen Zhi unusually didn’t respond.

Indeed, Wen Zhi was unaware that any ntion of Shang Hexing’s mother was taboo. He rarely spoke about her and didn’t allow others to discuss her.

If Wen Zhi had known, she would have understood how important she was to Shang Hexing, because he only talked about his deceased mother in front of her.

By then, Shang Hexing had already escorted Wen Zhi to the door of her suite.

He took out the room card from his pocket and handed it to her, saying, “But I’m not like them.”

Wen Zhi reached out to take the room card, but he didn’t let go imdiately, “If I set my mind on soone, I will strive with all my might to win them over. I only want what I desire, I won’t settle, nor will I compromise.”

His last words hamred each note heavily onto the tip of Wen Zhi’s heart.

Her breathing beca erratic.

Finally, his fingertip slowly released the room card, his gaze fixing on her delicate face, he asked, “Do you understand what I an?”

Wen Zhi’s emotions grew even more chaotic. She looked down at the room card in her hand, “Do, do you want to co in for a while?”

Shang Hexing’s eyes were deep and dark, he took a step closer, “Wen Zhi, do you know what it implies to invite a man into your room late at night?”

Wen Zhi looked up to et his gaze, “I, I just want to invite you to sit.”

Shang Hexing chuckled softly, stepping closer again, “I wouldn’t think so. We are both single and adults. Your invitation to

is a hint, a suggestion to further our communication.”

Wen Zhi backed up until she could no more, her face flushing deeply as she listened to his every word.

“Shang Hexing…”

“Here I am.” He pressed forward, cornering her near the door, and before she could react, he snatched the room card from her hand.

With a beep,

the room door opened.

Wen Zhi’s heart skipped a beat, and the next second Shang Hexing, embracing her waist, led her inside.

“Shang Hexing, Shang Hexing…”

The room door closed, and without the lights on, the room was pitch black, leaving Wen Zhi disoriented.

She called out his na twice, suddenly feeling a tight grip around her waist, then Shang Hexing pressed her against the hallway wall, with his hot breath falling on her ear, “Wen Zhi, may I?”
