He rembered the mysterious and eerie transaction he made with that man not long ago. The man had him act as an experintal subject, injecting a certain drug into his body.

He also rembered asking Wei Linnan what that drug was at that ti.

Perhaps Wei Linnan believed he would never fully understand what the drug truly was, so he explained with a careless attitude: "This is a drug that contains trace amounts of Scatana’s biological active components. I rarely conduct experints on male bodies because the males on Earth are not robust enough to et my experintal requirents. Fortunately, Mr. Lu Shifeng, you are strong enough to beco my experintal subject. This drug is to see what kind of changes the biological components will generate when combined with a male body, and it can serve as a control group for experints combined with a female body."

In truth, Lu Shifeng did not fully understand what he was saying.

He only roughly knew that Wei Linnan was conducting a dangerous human experint.

He was referred to as "male body," not "male," proving that beyond humans, there might be other samples, and in Wei Linnan’s eyes...

Humans and animals probably aren’t that different.

Such thoughts are very dangerous. Undoubtedly, Wei Linnan is an extrely dangerous individual.

Yet, Lu Shifeng still agreed to be injected with the experintal drug. It was his debt to Su Xingyu. To cure her face, he was willing to pay this price.

However, at this mont, Lu Shifeng suddenly felt uncertain.

His brain was becoming increasingly dizzy, and the hand holding the steering wheel was trembling violently. Several tis, he nearly drove off the cliffside of the mountain road. In the gale and heavy rain, that black Bentley was like a small boat swaying in danger. Barely making it down the perilous mountain road, Lu Shifeng could no longer hold on; he turned the steering wheel with his last ounce of strength and parked the car under a fallen tree by the roadside, soaked in cold sweat. His hands were trembling uncontrollably, whether due to the drug’s effects or illness, it was hard to tell.

With much effort, he dug out his phone, struggling to flip to the contacts and pressed Wei Linnan’s number.

On this stormy night, the signal was poor everywhere.

Lu Shifeng was prepared for a long wait before connecting, but strangely, the signal connecting his phone to Wei Linnan was exceptionally good.

From the other end, Wei Linnan’s clear voice ca: "Hello, Lu Shifeng?"

"What exactly did you inject with?" Lu Shifeng felt cold all over, sweating profusely, and even speaking required trendous effort. As he looked out at the waterfall-like heavy rain, he stamred, "I... I..." He inadvertently looked at his hand on the steering wheel, and his pupils shrank drastically.

He saw his originally slender fingers twisting and deforming, resembling the claws of so ancient dragon or giant lizard. His wrists, palms, and fingers exposed from his shirt sleeves were covered in black scales and spikes, completely losing any appearance of human form. Shocked, thunder and lightning burst outside the car window. He wanted to lift his sleeve to check his arm’s condition, but with just the slightest motion—without using much strength—the half of his finely crafted shirt sleeve was torn apart, the cloth strips fluttering in the dead silent cockpit.

He stared at his arm.

Equally covered in black scales, hard and cold.

His heart grew cold as well, with his untransford human hand holding the phone tightly. The phone made a "crack" sound, instantly crushed into powder.

This was not a human strength.

He gravely looked at the debris of the phone that turned to powder in his hand, his usually calm mind in disarray. What... what was happening to him? Was he becoming so kind of monster?

Deep within his body, the intricate turmoil of his organs transford into sharper pain, like lava boiling—a hellish pain unbearable. Instinctively, he reached out to rip his skin, his claws leaving deep bloody marks on his chest. The warm scarlet liquid, belonging to a human, dripped onto him, and his eyes covered quickly with a blood-red hue, stirring a sudden desire to kill everything.

Another bolt of thunder crashed outside the window.

He growled heavily, barely restraining his rising desire to kill, smashing his fist into the car’s front windshield. The Bentley car was modified, the windshield made of the world’s most advanced bulletproof glass, capable of withstanding even small artillery shots unscathed, yet his punch shattered it into spiderweb-like cracks.

The cracks made a piercing sound amidst the storm.

Oddly, despite the strong wind and rain, he could clearly hear even the smallest sound of those cracks.

Perhaps it’s an illusion, but the windshield before him seed to twist a few tis and amidst the broken lines, the face of an elegant man in a white lab coat appeared—

"Wei Linnan." Lu Shifeng gasped as he looked at him, struggling against the agonizingly boiling pain inside.

He was not at all surprised by Wei Linnan’s figure appearing on the car’s windshield. In fact, after such bodily alterations, nothing could surprise him anymore.

"Glad you still recognize ." Wei Linnan slightly smiled from the glass, his smile terribly peculiar, giving people an icy and horrifying feeling, like so ancient, grotesque beast eyeing its tiny prey. He said, "Unexpectedly, the drug’s effects this ti are so good, causing direct alteration—next ti, be careful not to crush your phone; my remote nuclear magnetic wave communication consus a lot of energy."

What remote nuclear magnetic wave communication? Lu Shifeng guessed he was probably talking about the communication thod of projecting an image onto the car glass.

At ordinary tis, as the leader of the vast Blade Group, he would have been greatly interested in such technology. But now, he felt only shock and anger: "You promised that the injection wouldn’t affect my normal life!"

"That’s not what I promised you," Wei Linnan’s face still wore a mask-like smile, "Let help you recall, we agreed that the injection of this drug wouldn’t affect you fulfilling responsibilities to your family group and woman. Whether it affects your normal life? I don’t care, nor do I have interest."

Lu Shifeng was in no mood to play word gas with him, a sensation of pain and itch spreading across his body. He knew that this was the alien scales invading his human skin.

He did not know what he would beco in the future, completely transford into a beast? Or sothing else?
