She trembled and said, "I’m looking for Xie Jian."
She didn’t dare say she was looking for Lu Shifeng, fearing they’d ask if she had an appointnt, and she couldn’t say she was Lu Shifeng’s wife either. She had hurried out so quickly that she didn’t have anything to prove her identity.
Her best option was to say she was looking for Xie Jian, Lu Shifeng’s chief secretary, which was the safest.
But Xie Jian wasn’t easy to et either. The security guard asked her, "What is your relationship to Xie Jian?"
"I’m his sister Axing. I have an urgent matter. Please, I really need to get in." Blade Group’s security was very strict, and Su Xingyu didn’t have an access card, so she had to plead with the guard.
The guard comforted her, telling her not to worry, and imdiately called Xie Jian. Thank heavens, his phone was reachable, and as soon as he heard "Axing," he guessed who she was. He had the guard let her in and told her to wait for him in the VIP lounge area of the main building.
Su Xingyu thanked the guard and hurried inside.
The distance from the main entrance to the main building was quite far. Her down jacket dripped water along the way, attracting curious glances from passing staff. So she simply took it off, tossing it into a corner of the ergency passage, and wore only a damp cashre sweater, shivering from the cold. Without the jacket, she felt sowhat lighter and found the main building, entering the elevator.
The Blade Group was always busy. Even in such torrential rain, with it being past six in the evening, many were still working overti.
The elevator was crowded, and many frowned as she squeezed in, as her dampness made the neatly dressed employees uncomfortable.
"I’m sorry." Su Xingyu realized she was causing inconvenience and quickly apologized.
The young girl closest to her couldn’t help but complain, "Why didn’t you change before squeezing into the elevator like this? You’re just thinking of your own convenience, affecting everyone around you. Don’t you have any decency?" The girl wore a light purple blouse with a light gray pencil skirt, silver-gray high heels, her hair carefully curled, her face delicate like a flower, arrogant like a princess.
Though her tone was rude, Su Xingyu didn’t want to cause trouble and still said, "I’m really sorry, it’s an urgent matter."
Unexpectedly, the girl didn’t relent and continued aggressively, "No matter how urgent, you can’t just co to the main building dressed like this. Do you even know the rules? Which departnt are you from? I’ll be sure to talk to your departnt head to teach you about dress codes!"
This ti, even with Su Xingyu’s normally good temper, she frowned slightly and ignored her.
The girl, seeing she wasn’t answered, beca even more annoyed and glared at her, "Hey, I’m talking to you."
In the crowded elevator, a middle-aged man couldn’t take it anymore and hinted to Su Xingyu, "Are you new here? Miss Tang Yu is the third secretary in the CEO’s secretariat. She’s just looking out for you."
CEO’s secretariat? Third secretary?
Su Xingyu only then paid more attention to the girl nad Tang Yu; she was the new one here. She hadn’t ever seen such a figure around Lu Shifeng four years ago.
This Tang Yu was indeed very beautiful, with features exquisitely blooming like a water lily, her lively eyes bright as if they could speak. Over the years, Su Xingyu had seen many top models and big celebrities from around the world, yet none, aside from Xia Ling with her captivating beauty, ca close to Tang Yu’s allure.
Even Zhuang Heng couldn’t compare.
No wonder Tang Yu was so arrogant; she certainly had the capital to be.
Su Xingyu only entertained such thoughts briefly and didn’t delve deeper. A young girl’s arrogance had nothing to do with her. Her mind was now filled with thoughts of her two children. Though Su Xingyu was silent, she forgot that, at only twenty-four years old, she too was still in the pri of a woman’s beauty. Yet her heart felt aged, as if she were an old soul who had seen the world’s rise and fall.
The elevator stopped at each floor.
People gradually exited the elevator.
Soon, everyone below the 15th floor was gone, leaving no other stops between the 15th and 20th-floor eting rooms.
Only Tang Yu and Su Xingyu remained in the elevator.
Tang Yu looked incredulously at Su Xingyu, then at the dimd elevator buttons, and couldn’t help but ask, "Hey, are you going to the 20th floor too? The eting room on the 20th floor is for Mr. Lu and high-level executives. You can’t be going there, right?"
Su Xingyu didn’t want to respond to her.
Tang Yu took a stern tone and said, "Hey, I’m asking you, are you sure you’re not lost? Going to the eting room dressed like that? Are you crazy? Who do you think you are with the right to enter the CEO’s eting room?"
She had been working there for over a year, dealing daily with Blade’s top executives, and was sure she hadn’t seen this woman before.
She certainly didn’t think this woman was soone important. Weren’t all important figures surrounded by attendants, impeccably dressed? Could this woman possibly qualify?
The only thing she could think of was that this woman was in the wrong place.
As a secretary, of course, it was her job to escort people out.
Su Xingyu couldn’t be bothered with her and stepped aside, lowering her head and sneezing twice.
She had just run in the rain for half an hour, cold and tired, and now with the warm air conditioning in the elevator blowing on her, she was starting to feel uncomfortable.
Tang Yu looked at her with disdain, exaggeratedly stepping away from her, afraid of catching so virus.
Su Xingyu enjoyed the quiet.
Soon, the elevator reached the 20th floor, and with a light ding, the elevator doors opened.
Outside the elevator stood Xie Jian, dressed in a perfectly tailored suit, as if waiting specifically to greet, looking into the elevator.
"Mr. Xie!" Everyone in the secretariat called him Mr. Xie, and when Tang Yu saw him, her eyes lit up with excitent, feeling flattered as she approached, "You don’t need to specially wait for here. I was just going to get so docunts. If Mr. Lu asked you to co, it’s embarrassing for ..."
Tang Yu kept chattering, showing a young girl’s most coquettish and lovely deanor to Xie Jian.
But Xie Jian didn’t even glance at her, still looking into the elevator behind her.
Tang Yu followed his gaze and saw the drenched Su Xingyu in the elevator.
"Mr. Xie," Tang Yu said with great displeasure, "Who knows what this woman is up to, coming up so drenched. She won’t even tell what departnt she’s from! Surely she’s in the wrong place, I’ll have her removed now and get her departnt head to dismiss her! Hey, you—"
She turned, giving Su Xingyu a haughty look, "Don’t you have the sense to leave? Don’t dirty the floor here!"
