Chapter 95: Mother Venom Milk

"Oga team, you will take the corrupted through this pathway, then head to Faysac bridge. There you will see a shipnt company under the na Winsman, it belongs to one of our alumni"

In a round table setting, inside the activitiy room of the base, master Seth assigned a new set of instructions to the weavers here.

One of their main purposes of coming here was to capture and ship corrupted creatures to earth for training and other purposes. As of now they had a good number but not enough to fulfill their needs.

"The voyage usually takes 1 month at hyper speeds so by the end of our activies here we should arrive at the sa ti as them on earth..."

Master Seth explained as the students from the oga crawler nodded in confirmation.

"As for the two of you we have other things in store..." he looked down at the pad infront of him and explained.

So creatures needed capturing so needed material extractions and refinent for artificial echos manufacturing..

Team Alpha would be charged with finding specific corrupted creatures and extracting their materials and weaving them back to earth.

As for Beta

This team had shown its worth by not only extracting the blood of a great terror, but also killimg it. It was such a nostalgic feeling but also a sign of competence.

"You will be tracking a creature for , its details will be sent to your coms when you leave firm warning by the way, do not engage this one, it’s not the typical beast nor is it’s corruptions to be ssed with" master Seth explained.

In as much as this was a institute mission, he still had so personal grudges to settle on defi. These kids would help him greatly.

30 minutes later the three units set off in different directions each with their own missions...

.

" this isn’t a creature na...." Looking at the information on the screen infront, Enzo and the rest couldn’t help but frown deeply.

There was the image of a half humanoid half arachnid creature before them under the label

Mother Venom Milk

Forget the fact that they hadn’t seen any creature like this before. The Description was much more Abbrohant than just the the look.

[Mother Venom Milk]

[Estimated Rank: Great terror]

[Estimated tier: viscount]

[descripton: senitient corrupted being adapt at making little children of a variety of races including spiders, posion frog, snakes....and so on. It typically lives in the underground tunnels systems in defi only coming out to fine prey

One of its most defining features is its intellegence and ability to control its spawn]

Everything about the description of this beast sounded wrong, the way it walked, where it stayed. If gave them the creeps.

"Intelligence..." Enzo muttered under his breath with a squinted gaze.

Corrupted creatures with intelligence were synonymously refered to using a single wildly accepted term.

Deamon.

Enzo’s one and only experience with one of these was so mortifying that he was frozen on the screen for a good 20 minutes.

He felt it in his bones....they were courting death.

"Why does the old man even keep doing this? Does beta sohow rhy with great terror?" Inside the crawler, soone else threw a fit and that was none other than Iceberg, one of the twins.

His artificial echo had been destroyed during their assault on the hamrhead red centipede and it pissed him off to no end.

One could only regenerate an artificial echo from its scimatics three tis . It was frustrating to lose one on a mission that was in truth irrelevant to once’s growth.

He didn’t gain anything, only lost and now they were sending them after sothing stronger.

This was too much....

"Master Seth, he’s a bit of a hard ass, you’ll get use to it. Pulse this is an opportunity" Suddenly Savage Wolf chid in a smile on his face.

Half of the student whom had graduated with flying colors in the institute going on to take large roles in the institutes organizations were at so point under the radar of master Seth.

If he viewed one as competent, that person would typically be on the fast track for greater success in the future.....

"Opportunity? What kind of opportunity will raise

from the dead?" Iceberg complained seemingly not satisfied with what savage wolf had said.

This was a genuine question, truth was, the institute wasn’t new to student deaths. In fact last month at least five students had died in off world project missions.

This was especially the case for those who underwent missions with master Seth. Death was very much a possibility.

"You’re right, you can just go back to camp and ask to forfeit your slot in the mission. No one will hold it against you" Savage wolf said as he slow stood up and walked to the other twin at the staring wheel.

"You...." Seeing Savage Wolf ignore him and take the wheel of the crawler, Iceberg couldn’t help but smirk bitterly.

He was a first year of snowfall, leaving a mission like that would not just bring sha to himself, but his family too.

"It’s just a search and report mission man, relax" Zeke walked past iceberg and tapped him on the shoulder reassuringly.

He was thinking too much about the worst case scenario, chances that nothing of the sort would happen was very much viable.

He needed to chill.

"Do you need anything boss?" Zeke squatted next to savage wolf and asked.

"Sure, read through this map, we’ll start with the ground mole tunnel near greyridge" Savage wolf nodded and handed him so work.

This was going to take a minute finding mother Venom milk, they might as well get started with it now.

And so they did, using the resources available to them they scouted several positions across the forest narrowing down their positions with hopes of zeroing on the exact location of mother venom milk

But the more they made progress, the further they understood the reason why master Seth had sent them without a ti limit.

[Mother venom milk is a type 7 threat on the Defi index, it has poisoned water sources, destroyed crops and attacked small settlents, but most of all, its partipation in the seige of Watergate is one its most prominent cris.

Unfortunately, due to its ability to hide and sense when being hunted, it has constantly avoided being caught for decades]

Enzo read an article on the web, his eyes squinted. The crawler was a high level tracking chanism, it had the best systems for these kinds of hunts.

But even at that....

This was too hard a task master Seth had given them...close to impossible maybe.

"Void, can you find a creature for ? " Enzo asked hoping for a positive answer.

[No]

Unfortunately he received a resounding no, the coffin could scan and dish out a myriad of information from its large data banks, but when it ca to actual functionalities it would typically have no answers unless Enzo unlocked the relevant skill set.

"Sigh" Enzo was bumd out, thinking about it he couldn’t think of a single way finding the beast outside their usual scouting activities.

"We’ve arrived at another tunnel, Enzo, Iceberg, it’s your turn to go down the whole" savage wolf said a bitter smile on his face.

This thod was tedious and ineffective, but he couldn’t think of a better idea on what to do.

Suiting up, Enzo and iceberg left the crawler in the dead of night with nothing but a lantern and entered a deep tunnel seemingly made by a natural driller.

In school they had learn about a myriad of tarrains, their formation and the equipnt to use when exploring them. These kinds of classes general knowledge classes and aid to familiarize the weaver with what they would et in the real world.

"Let

go down first" Enzo suggested handing a robe to iceberg as he fastened it around himself.

He had a teleportation ability going down was very easy and so was escaping whatever was down there. The reason he didn’t just go down himself was obviously because of icebergs limitations and his inability to take him threw shadows.

As he reached the buttom of the tunnel slope Enzo lifted his lantern and observed his imdiate surroundings.

’I hate caves’ Enzo muttered a complaint of the cramped nature of caves. He was a night creature that could basically see in the dark, yet he hated the entire nature of caves.

’PTSD maybe’

Enzo thought as he broke into a laugh.

Everyti he entered a cave he always attracted dangerous things. It was enough to scsr anyone.

Soon iceberg joined him as they explored the cave together delving deep into the cave and recording traces.

Suddenly

"Eggs" Enzo muttered looking at the ground covered in cracked egg shells a smile crept onto his face. These holes typically had creatures laying eggs in them. Where better to keep your kids than a deep dark tunnel?

Of course this was no joke, the amount of eggs they encountered was quite a lot but up till now they still couldn’t find traces of mother venom milk.

"Bring the tester" Enzo called out to iceberg as he bent down to the level of the egg shells on the ground
