Arthur stood there with his spear in hand while the altar’s crimson light pulsed from below him.
Blaze wiped blood from her mouth and rolled her shoulders, flas roaring higher around her body. Satanus rose beside her, eyes narrowed.
They felt it. the shift in their opponent.
Arthur no longer carried himself with restraint. his gaze lifted toward the distant horizon of Hell where Lilith’s presence flickered.
’I’ll erase these pests first.’
His fingers tightened on the spear.
’Quickly. I must stop her. Earth already chokes on its own darkness. I will not let her flood it with this. Not to ntion the gates are appearing now, we’ll have plenty to deal with..’
The shadows around his boots spread outward.
Blaze frowned.
"He feels different now," she muttered.
Satanus’ expression hardened. "Doesn’t matter."
Arthur moved, and he simply vanished from their sight.
Blaze’s instincts scread. She spun, launching a spinning infernal kick toward the distortion in the air.
Arthur appeared inside her guard.
His spear thrust forward in a straight, rciless line for her throat.
Satanus intercepted at the last instant, conjuring a blade of void to knock the spear aside. The clash detonated in a burst of black and violet force that flattened their surroundings.
Blaze recovered instantly, flas spiraling around Arthur’s flank while Satanus pressed from the front. Their movents synchronized without words, decades, centuries of shared combat instinct.
Blaze attacked high.
Satanus attacked low.
Arthur stepped between both.
His spear beca a blur of controlled arcs, deflecting void steel, shattering fla constructs, redirecting force with brutal precision, no theatrics.
Blaze leapt skyward, raining down a barrage of hellfire lances.
Satanus spread his arms, shadows multiplying into a hundred mirrored blades from every angle.
They collapsed on him simultaneously.
The explosion swallowed the altar.
Fla and void converged into a sphere of annihilating pressure. Stone liquefied. The crimson glow flickered violently under the assault.
Blaze landed first, breathing heavily.
Satanus stepped beside her, watching the inferno.
For a mont, there was nothing but roaring energy.
Then the flas parted.
Arthur stood at the epicenter, unburned.
Violet lightning crawled lazily across his shoulders, devouring the last remnants of hellfire.
His eyes glowed.
Blaze felt sothing unfamiliar coil in her gut.
"...Impossible."
Arthur tilted his head slightly.
And then
The figure in the flas shattered.
An afterimage.
Blaze’s eyes widened.
Satanus’ head snapped upward.
Arthur stood above them in the sky, suspended in a column of violet stormlight. Shadows spiraled behind him like wings.
He descended.
Blaze roared and hurled herself upward to et him, entire body engulfed in blinding white hellfire. Satanus followed a mont later, void energy condensing into a massive spear in his grip.
They struck together.
Arthur t them head-on.
He drove his own spear forward, splitting Satanus’ void weapon in two before it could complete its arc. In the sa motion, he pivoted, letting Blaze’s flaming charge skim past him.
His elbow crushed into her spine mid-flight.
The impact sent her hurtling into the altar hard enough to fracture it in a spiderweb of molten cracks.
Satanus recovered fast, faster than most beings could even perceive. He reford the void around his arms into serrated gauntlets and unleashed a relentless flurry of strikes aid for Arthur’s head and heart.
Arthur did not block.
He advanced.
Each of Satanus’ blows landed.
Void energy detonated against Arthur’s chest, shoulders, jaw.
The altar cracked deeper under the force.
Blaze rose behind him again, seizing the opportunity. She wrapped both arms around Arthur’s torso from behind, igniting at maximum intensity while Satanus drove a final void-infused thrust straight through Arthur’s sternum.
The combined blast tore a canyon through the altar.
Blaze released him slowly.
Satanus stepped back, breathing asured but tense.
Arthur stood unmoving in the smoke.
A spear of void protruded from his chest.
Flas still clung to his coat.
Blaze smirked faintly.
"Even gods bleed."
Arthur’s head lifted.
The void spear dissolved into shadow.
The flas vanished as if swallowed by a greater abyss.
His voice, when he spoke, was almost bored.
"Did you truly believe that would suffice?"
Blaze’s smirk faltered.
Arthur disappeared.
He reappeared between them.
Too close.
His hand shot forward, seizing Satanus by the throat before the demon could react. The grip was absolute, fingers digging into his demonic flesh like iron closing on paper.
Blaze lunged.
Arthur kicked backward without looking.
His heel connected with her jaw in a thunderous crack that sent her spinning across the altar and into a shattered pillar.
Satanus struggled in his grasp, void energy flaring wildly around them.
Arthur’s eyes t his.
"You wished to asure yourself against a greater being."
He lifted Satanus off the ground effortlessly.
"Then witness one."
With terrifying calm, Arthur shifted his grip, dragging Satanus forward.
The spear materialized in his free hand.
One clean motion.
The blade flashed in a crescent arc of violet light.
For a fraction of a second, Satanus’ expression froze in fear and in stunned realization.
The spear completed its path.
His head separated from his body in a spray of blackened blood that evaporated before it touched the ground.
The severed head spun once in the air.
Arthur caught it by the hair.
The body collapsed in a heavy thud, void energy dissipating.
Blaze staggered to her knees, blood trailing from her mouth, staring at the sight.
The storm above rumbled.
Arthur released the head.
It disintegrated into shadow before it struck the stone.
He turned his gaze to Blaze.
Blaze stared at the space where her brother had stood.
For a mont.
She said nothing.
Then Hell answered her scream.
Flas erupted outward in a spiraling inferno that swallowed half the altar in white-hot devastation. The ground liquefied beneath her feet. The sky above split with a roar of answering thunder.
"You.." Her voice cracked under the strain of fury. "You think this ends here?!"
Arthur stood unmoved amidst the storm she birthed.
His spear rested loosely in his hand.
Blaze’s wings of fire unfurled to their full span, casting shadows like razors across the ruins.
"I will kill you," she hissed. "I will burn you down to the marrow!"
Arthur smiled.
Simply amused.
"You truly are simple," he said.
Blaze blurred forward in a detonation of fla, fist cocked back with enough force to shatter mountains.
Arthur stepped aside.
Her punch obliterated the space where he had stood, blasting a molten crater. She twisted instantly into a spinning kick, then a downward axe strike wreathed in condensed hellfire.
Arthur weaved through them with minimal motion, almost lazily.
"You’re so easy to manipulate," he continued conversationally as another wave of fla tore past his shoulder. "You demon kind.. All of you."
Blaze’s teeth bared.
"The hell are you babbling about?!"
Arthur leaned back just enough to let her flaming knuckles skim inches from his jaw. His eyes never left hers.
"Lilith is using you."
Blaze snarled and drove both hands downward, unleashing a vertical pillar of inferno ant to engulf him whole.
Arthur vanished from its center, reappearing to her side as the flas shot skyward.
"She made it clear," he said quietly. "She does not care about this realm. She does not care about her kind."
Blaze spun, hurling a barrage of fire-laced strikes so fast the air ignited in their wake.
Arthur deflected one with the shaft of his spear, slipped under another, caught her wrist mid-swing and forced it aside.
"As long as she achieves her desire, nothing else matters."
He released her wrist and stepped back as she lashed out again.
"She knows you cannot kill ."
Blaze faltered
Just for a fraction of a second.
Arthur saw it.
"She knows you cannot stop ," he continued. "You and Satanus were never ant to win."
Blaze’s flas flared brighter, almost erratic now.
"You lie!"
Her attacks grew wilder, more power, less precision. The altar trembled under the escalating heat.
"You’re nothing but delays," Arthur said calmly, dodging a devastating overhead strike that split the stone in two. "Stepping stones."
He pivoted behind her, voice lowering.
"Ti she purchases with your lives."
Blaze froze for a breath.
Just long enough.
Then rage smothered doubt.
She roared and unleashed everything.
Flas condensed around her body, compressing into a sphere of white-hot annihilation. Temperature spiked beyond reason.
"This..." Blaze’s voice trembled with fury and wounded pride. "...is your retribution, Shadow lord!"
She hurled the condensed inferno forward.
It wasn’t a wave.
It was like a star collapsing.
Arthur did not move.
The inferno consud him whole.
The explosion tore open the sky, ripping violet thunder from the clouds. The shockwave flattened the remaining ruins for miles around. The altar split deeper, crimson light surging violently. But the crimson light remained, whatever Lilith activated it was still ongoing.
Blaze panted, chest heaving.
The firestorm slowly receded.
Smoke rolled outward in thick, churning waves.
It took a mont for lightning to answer.
A single violet arc flickered within the smoke.
Then another.
Then dozens.
The flas were devoured from within.
Arthur stepped forward through the dissolving inferno, unhard.
Not a scorch mark on him.
Violet lightning crawled across his skin.
His eyes glowed brighter now, colder.
"I tried to reason with you but.." he said softly.
Blaze staggered back a step.
Arthur raised his spear.
The sky split open.
A torrent of god-killing lightning descended, it was not wild, it was focused. Controlled. It struck the spear’s tip and condensed into a spiraling lance of annihilation.
Blaze scread and threw her flas forward to intercept it.
Fire t lightning.
For one heartbeat, she felt like they were equal.
Then the lightning swallowed the fire.
It punched through her inferno, through her defenses, through her scream.
The blast engulfed her entirely.
White-violet light erased everything in its path.
When it faded, Blaze remained standing only by sheer will.
Her wings were gone, burned away to ash.
Her skin smoked. Cracks of violet energy crawled across her body, devouring what remained of her flas.
She tried to lift her head.
Tried to summon fire again.
Only sparks answered.
Arthur walked toward her slowly.
She looked up at him through blurred vision.
"Damn you..." she rasped.
There was no anger left in his eyes.
He stopped before her.
Then Arthur drove the spear forward.
It pierced cleanly through her chest.
Through her heart and fla.
The tip erupted from her back in a flash of violet light.
Blaze’s body jerked once.
Her eyes widened.
Lightning pulsed once more through the spear, finishing what it had begun.
Her body dissolved into ash that scattered on the broken altar, carried away by Hell’s restless wind. Arthur withdrew the spear. Then he looked once toward the horizon where Lilith’s presence still lingered.
