The woman, known as Chaleon, read the text carefully.

Only the first page of the book could be opened by for now.

It listed nine official explorations.

Every single one ended in complete destruction of the Exorcist teams.

The man beside her leaned closer, trying to look at the book, but to him, the pages were blank.

"When will the exploration happen?" he asked.

"On the second of August. It’s sixteen days from now," she replied calmly.

Today was July 18, 2003.

That ant the Exorcists must be snooping around Street 51 already, and would enter the Cursed Spirit’s domain in sixteen days.

"Get the details of any Exorcist who is currently in or near Street 51, Sheffield, England. That’s where the Cursed Spirit responsible for First Disaster will start from," she ordered.

The man bowed slightly. "Understood."

She kept reading the page.

Since the book could tell the future, it ant all those who were about to enter the Cursed Spirit Area 51’s domain would be killed by it.

Three days later, they sat together again, this ti in a luxurious hotel dining room.

A waiter served their als while the man slid a folder across the table.

"I found the information about the Exorcists investigating Street 51," he said. "They’re taking their Cursed Spirit Hunter License test, supervised by the Underworld. As for the participants... they’re quite special."

Chaleon stopped eating.

The man didn’t use the word ’special’ often.

She wiped her hands, opened the folder, and began to read.

.

Calliope Hargraves – Heir of the Underworld. Daughter of Chryseis Hargraves, the current head of the House of Hades.

.

Chaleon raised an eyebrow. "The heir of the Underworld is part of the team?"

"Yes," the man said. "Calliope is a Rank 3 Exorcist and a Combat Healer.

"She was involved in the Palloma Incident seven years ago.

"The trauma from that event left her unable to fight for years.

"It seems she’s slowly recovering, and this mission might be her first step back."

"A survivor of the Palloma Incident, huh." Chaleon leaned back in her chair.

The Palloma Incident had been one of the darkest events in Exorcist history.

Many strong Exorcists died that day.

The lead commander, Adrian Daelthorn, had fled mid-battle, breaking the chain of command.

He was later punished by his family for desertion.

Chaleon flipped the page, and looked at the second profile.

.

Zephan Silva – Rank 3 ntalist. mber of the Directorate of Cognitive Compliance. Sent as Calliope’s bodyguard and to monitor her ntal stability and prevent trauma relapse.

.

"Directorate of Cognitive Compliance..." Chaleon murmured.

That departnt belonged to the House of Hades.

They were specialists in mind-related magic such as mory reading, erasure, and truth extraction.

She continued turning the pages.

.

Denny Fultz – Rank 1 Shield Tar. Rising talent from House Faring, a vassal family under House of Hades.

Selene Rodriguez – Rank 2 Wind Mage. One of the Rodriguez triplet sisters from the United States. A Dhampir.

Mira Rodriguez – Rank 2 Fla Fencer. The second Rodriguez sister. Also a Dhampir.

Ellyn Rodriguez – Rank 2 Blood Siren. The third sister. A Dhampir.

.

Chaleons pursued her lips.

This lineup was stronger than she expected for a license test.

She turned the next page, and paused.

.

Lars Olsen

Operating under the na Lars Møller. Rank 2 Martial Adept. Heir of the House of Thunder, one of the families that lead the major Hidden Clan [Asgardians].

Currently undergoing the Rite of Passage, which requires him to leave his family, earn recognition, and achieve rit without using his clan’s influence.

.

"House of Thunder. The family created by Thor, and one of the families that lead the Asgardians," the man said. "Including him, there are three heirs are in this mission. It’s a special roster."

"Three heirs?" the woman asked.

"Check the last page. He’s the biggest fish here."

...

Alan Veritus:

Rank 0 Space Mage. Self-proclaid disciple of Monkey King.

While he is only Rank 0, his combat prowess matches at least a Rank 2 Exorcist.

The first ti he appeared, he killed Frank Daelthorn, the third son of the head of House Daelthorn.

The second ti, he exorcised the Immortal Class Cursed Spirit [Elicoras Arena].

His third appearance was when he took the Cursed Spirit Hunter License test under the Underworld.

His background and appearance are unknown.

...

The woman fell silent.

Her eyes stayed fixed on the paper.

The longer she read, the tighter she gripped the folder.

"While I couldn’t confirm if he’s really the disciple of Monkey King, my people confird he’s the one who killed Frank Daelthorn. The upper echelon of House Daelthorn is hiding the news though," the man said.

She stood up and pushed her chair back. "I’ll check if he’s really Monkey King’s disciple. If he is, I’ll extract him. We can’t have him die on the mission. He can be the key to find Monkey King’s location."

"Alright," the man nodded. "What about the other heirs? We can kidnap them and use them for a lot of things."

"Let them die in the mission. After that, I’ll replace them and infiltrate their clans. That way, we can take over their families from the inside, and use them for our goal," she said.

"Sounds like a good plan."

MC’s POV

I sat inside a cave in the forest near the main estate of House Daelthorn.

Gold items were scattered around , glowing faintly.

White wisps rose from them, flowing into my body as I absorbed them one by one.

Class Mage

Grade: 5-Star → 6-Star

3 Intelligence, 5 Spirit

A new star ford within my Mana Core, and a strong wave of mana filled my veins.

My whole body buzzed with power.

I stretched my fingers and summoned a magic bullet.

It floated in front of , spinning rapidly before I flicked it upward.

The shot tore through the air, disappearing into the distance.

It felt sharper and stronger than before.

’At 6-Star, my mana capacity equals that of a theoretical 12-Star Mage,’ I thought.

Theoretical, because the highest official rank was 9-Star. They were called Archmages.

But with my Intelligence, mana capacity, spell knowledge, and combat experience, I was far above any Archmage despite being a 6-Star Mage.
