Chapter 5: 04 | Hunter
Winter was a hunter. Yes, a hunter. A hunter with high standards. Though Winter was all for looks, he never approached Ogas who were only beautiful.
He preferred Ogas with character. He preferred fierce Ogas; the ones with huge egos and cold personas, the ones who believed that they were superior to Alphas, the ones who acted like they could resist Alphas.
Those were the best kind of Ogas. Chasing them was much too thrilling. From the phase where they would pretend as though they were not affected by Winter's looks or pheromones to the phase where he would wear them down and have them in bed.
He particularly loved that mont when they would co undone underneath him and beg for rcy from an Alpha who they claid to be lesser than them. There was nothing in the world more invigorating than breaking soone's principles and face slapping their long ti beliefs.
But after hunting such Ogas and destroying their mindset, Winter would lose interest in them. What was the fun in hanging around soone who had been turned into a pitiful sub?
After finishing one hunt, he moved to the next. He had no ti to spare with used Ogas.
For the past few days, Winter had set his own on his 'new prey', Blue Kent. Winter had found out that Blue was a twenty-one-year-old Dominant Oga from a family of four, consisting of an Alpha father and two Alpha older brothers, who were all pro boxers.
He had also learned that Blue was an author and had purchased his book to read so that he could find sothing to talk about with Blue.
But most importantly, Winter had learned that Blue was different from his usual prey. Blue truly despised Alphas. There had never been a case of Blue befriending any Alpha or even being civil with them.
Winter would have to work extrely hard only to get Blue to actually know his na instead of knowing that he was an Alpha. And that plan was going to be set in motion from today.
Today was the Empowernt's club convention. The convention was being hosted in a community center at their very own city, Velas.
There were hundreds of people seated inside the grand hall. Whether they were here for charity or to actually gain sothing from the convention, only the audience themselves knew. Winter was among the backstage hands, supervising the lighting of the stage.
A few other speakers had given their speeches and it was almost ti to round up. Blue would be the last person to give his speech.
Winter has blurred out the speeches of the other speakers before Blue because he didn't particularly care about what they were ranting about. He also didn't care about what Blue was about to spew out but wanted to listen so that Blue's words would pose as a conversation starter for him after the convention.
Blue went on stage and Winter's breath hitched in his throat.
Blue was wearing a white button-down shirt with pressed black pants. Nothing else, and yet... Winter was finding it a bit hard to breathe as he stared at Blue.
"Hello everyone, my na is Blue Kent," Blue introduced himself to the audience with a polite smile on his face.
Winter heard unsubtle 'boo' noises after that and grimaced. Blue was truly hated by the masses. But he didn't seem to care.
Blue began to give out his own speech, ignoring the negative audience, as he said, "I'm not going to say much. My co-speakers have already said more than enough. But I do have a little sothing to add. We're gathered here today to talk about the equal rights that Ogas are supposed to enjoy along with Alphas and Betas, aren't we?
"So why is it that I can't spot any Oga in the first five rows? Why are there only Alphas? Who coordinated this seating arrangent?"
The crowd bursted into whispers after that. From the other side of the backstage, across the spot where Winter was standing, Adam facepald himself.
Blue had literally been the one who emphasized to other people not to go off from what was written in their scripts, yet he was doing the very sa thing. Adam began to massage the side of his head to ta the upcoming headache that he was about to experience.
"Who do you guys think you are?" Blue removed the microphone from the stand and walked over the forefront of the stage to get a closer look at the Alphas.
The Alphas obviously couldn't say anything. If they went with the natural flow of things and said that the seats belonged to them since they were Alphas, they would be shooting themselves in the leg.
If they also said that they didn't really plan it and perhaps Ogas didn't want to occupy the front seats, it would be telling a blatant lie. They had to keep silent and listen to the insulting lecture that Blue was about to serve them.
"This is exactly why we hold conventions like this—to unmask the never-changing behaviors of Alphas. They always think they are at the top of the world, don't you guys? Swaggering over to take the things that rightfully belong to Ogas.
"No single sense of sha or self-respect." Blue tsk-ed, shaking his head.
Though Winter was also being insulted indirectly since he was an Alpha as well, he couldn't help but smile at Blue's performance. It took a lot of gall to do was Blue was doing right now.
No sane Oga would ever choose to provoke large groups of Alphas because of fear. But for Blue Kent? He probably didn't even understand what fear ant.
Blue continued to go off on the Alphas in the audience for ten minutes straight before he reeled himself back and delivered his proper speech, then ended the convention.
Returning backstage, Adam pulled Blue's ears and dragged him deeper into the staff area. Winter had andered his way to the other side to get firsthand action of what was going to be done to Blue.
"What is wrong with you!?" Adam demanded from Blue. "You were literally the one who told people not to go off on stage and stick to their lines yet you- you did it! And in such a way too!"
The other mbers of the Empowernt club were watching this scene and they began to judge Blue with both their eyes and mouths.
But the one facing the judgent didn't even appear to be regretful. Blue sighed and placed one of his hands on his waist.
"I didn't do it on purpose. Seeing all those Alphas... you know I can't control myself. Besides, soone had to speak up." Blue said in his defense, without a trace of apology in his tone or words.
Blue's defensive words almost made Adam explode with anger.
"Do you know exactly what you have done!? If those Alphas decide to report to the school that our club activities are just a way to prey on Alphas, what do you think will happen? They'll shut down the club for fuck's sake, Blue!" Adam yelled.
Blue exhaled through his mouth. Adam was probably telling the truth. Blue began to feel a teeny bit regretful. Not regretful for telling those Alphas off though.
He was regretful that he hadn't made other people do the sa by making the the of the convention, 'Alphas are not superior to Ogas', instead of the the, 'Ogas should enjoy equal rights alongsides Alphas and Betas', that they went with.
Even though Blue hadn't said these words out loud, Adam knew that he was thinking about them. They had been friends for years, who could read Blue's mind better than Adam?
"Fuck, I can't deal with this today, Blue. You're suspended from the Empowernt club's activities for a month. And in the next convention, you won't be participating." Adam said with a strict tone to Blue.
So people in the club were actually surprised that Blue was being punished by Adam. Since they were best friends, Blue's overbearing actions during club activities were mostly looked over.
This was actually the first ti that Blue was going to be taking proper responsibilities for his actions. It seed like Adam was really annoyed with Blue's actions this ti.
Blue nonchalantly said, "Fine, whatever."
He still didn't apologize for his actions. Adam was also not expecting an apology from Blue. Blue would rather kill himself than apologize for the way he treated Alphas.
But the other mbers of the club weren't like Adam, who would let Blue off without apologizing. As they wanted to close in on him and demand an apology, soone new walked into their midst.
"Yo, what's with the tense atmosphere here?"
