Chapter 146: 144 | Living in Punishnt
"I don’t need your apology. Because I already got what I wanted." Kendall said vaguely.
Winter’s brows furrowed.
"I wanted you to suffer. For endless punishnt to rain on you. But seeing your life now, I think you’re already living in punishnt." Kendall said.
Winter almost frowned as he said, "What do you an?"
"You fell for soone who won’t ever completely love you. You even have a child on the way. I won’t be surprised if your child presents as an oga and gets to experience what you put other ogas through in your lifeti,"
"Your punishnt is going to be the little family you’ve created for yourself. The little family that the smallest action they make is always going to affect you imnsely. Take Blue for example now," Kendall leaned back into his chair and smiled.
"He already knows everything."
"What everything?" Winter’s eyes thinned.
"He ca over to my place last night and forced
to tell him about your dirty little past. Of course, I told him–"
"What the fuck did you tell him?" Winter reached to grab Kendall’s chin hard, but his hand was caught by Kendall midair and he placed it on his cheek.
"Everything you did. Blue knows. He might still love you—only God knows why—but he’s never gonna trust you again. He’s going to live in constant doubt and fear, believing that you might abandon him like the others."
"Which you, of course, wouldn’t do. But he’s not going to believe in you enough to give his all to you. Isn’t that sothing?" Kendall spoke with glassy eyes as though he was sad, but at the sa ti satisfied.
"That wouldn’t happen," Winter yanked his hand back.
"It might not. But if it does, I’ll feel bad for Blue. He deserves better. Not so cheap scum like you." Kendall said.
"I ca here to get closure today. It seems you’re not interested in settling things with ." Winter said.
"Settling what things? It’s already been so long that I’ve moved on. I might hate you still, but that’s just on . I don’t need to get any closure with you." Kendall said.
"Well, I do. I’m tired of living in guilt," Winter admitted.
Kendall cackled, "You deserve to live in guilt. What nonsense. You think you get to live a happy and guilt-free life after everything you’ve done? No, Winter. This... whatever you’re feeling and whatever’s making you search for closure is what you deserve. That’s the end of your actions."
Winter was already fed up with talking to Kendall.
"Since you don’t want to make up with , that’s on you," Winter stood up from his seat and slapped cash on the table, "I’ve told you what I wanted."
Kendall stood up to his feet as well.
"You said you’re sorry but you don’t seem sorry. You soon will be so it doesn’t matter," he said casually.
Winter didn’t say anything. He didn’t take Kendall’s words to heart either. He was just slightly worried about Blue. Blue didn’t act like he knew anything about his past when they talked earlier.
With the kind of person Blue was, after finding out the truth, he would’ve demanded to see Winter imdiately and scold (beat him up) for his actions.
Blue did neither. Which was worrying.
Winter had to co to a resolve to explain things to Blue when they t later in the day.
"I’ll leave you." Winter said to Kendall, then turned his back to him and began to walk in the direction of the door.
However, Kendall was close behind him so they left the café at the sa ti, leading them to the sa trouble.
*End of Flashback*
"Don’t dare lie to . I know what I saw. You touched him." Blue said.
"I did, but it wasn’t anything intimate like you’re describing it to be." Winter defended himself to Blue.
He’d tried to intimidate Kendall which led to Kendall grabbing his hand and placing it on his cheek. Nothing was intimate about the action with Kendall’s evil smiles.
What exactly did Blue see them doing??
"I know what I saw, Winter. Stop trying to make
look stupid," Blue tightened his fists.
Winter placed a hand on Blue’s shoulder. Blue shook it away.
"I... I’m not trying to make you look stupid. I didn’t do anything with Kendall. I don’t even like him. I love you." Winter tried to coax a teary-eyed Blue.
"That’s a lie. If you loved , you wouldn’t be keeping things from
and sneaking around."
"I’m not sneaking around or keep anything from you,"
"Oh, please, Winter. I know everything." Blue turned his head to look at Winter.
Winter’s emotions tangled.
"It’s not what you think–"
"What’s not what I think? Why do you have to lie so much, Winter?" Blue cut Winter off with an exhausted tone, rolling his eyes.
"You didn’t let
finish. I wasn’t going to lie to you," Winter said. "I just- I just an that I wasn’t going to keep my actions from you. I was going to tell you."
"When?"
"When I finished sorting things out," Winter looked away from Blue and grabbed the steering wheel in front of him.
"I was wrong. I shouldn’t have done such things. I imagined if one day Winter Junior would face the things I did to others. I couldn’t. I wouldn’t be able to let that happen. That’s why I wanted to make ands and apologized to the ogas I wronged,"
"I was planning to tell you after I got them to forgive . So you wouldn’t view
as a bad person. But I guess it’s too late now, isn’t it?" Winter looked at Blue as he said his last statent.
Blue’s anger died down in an instant.
"You still could have told . I wouldn’t have-" judged you.
That was what Blue wanted to say, but he couldn’t. Because he was already judging Winter after knowing his past.
"You don’t have to say anything. I already know what you’re thinking. I’m a scumbag who deserves to be beaten by all of the world’s ogas. I know." A bitter smile ford in Winter’s lips as he spoke.
"But I’m sorry."
